Strengths.gif

  • Very Large Hangar space: This ship has relative to its size, quite the large amount of hangar space, able to bring in large numbers of starfighters.
  • Strong defenses: To ensure that starfighters not only can get into action from this carrier, but also return to it, this carrier has been created with strong defenses in mind.
  • Highly Automated: A cruiser needing only the amount of operative personel comparable to a regular frigate always has the advantage that less lives would be lost with possible destruction. It also allows for faster reactions to emergency situations and automated hyperspace calculations for ease of use.
  • Secondary Shield generator: Allowing for a more cohesive defensive system, this ship has two shield generators, with one always in reserve should the first one fail or be destroyed.
Weaknesses.gif

  • Low speed: This ship is in all aspects a slow beast, due to the weight it carries and the lack of effort in granting it mobility.
  • Low maneuvrability: As it isn't a speedy vessel, it is also not as maneuvrable as most cruisers, which it supposedly does not need due to its high defensive capabilities.
  • Weak to EMP and Ion projectiles: As with every highly automated ship, the advantages come at the cost of having terrible resistance against EMP or Ion weaponry when there's a clean hit against any of the important parts of the ship when the shields are down.
Description.gif

As was the case for the Tyrant missile cruiser, so too did the Impellor Class carrier cruiser get a significant update to keep up the pace with the competing models within its class. Just like the Tyrant class cruiser, the Impellor II is larger, more potent in almost every regard and has more modern and more competent weaponry thanks to Nargath Holdings outsourcing a greater part of their weapons manufacturing to other companies such as Locke & Key mechanic, providing a solid and strong cruiser dedicated to carrying the troops to any given battlefield and to be the backbone of any dedicated fleet. Through initial testphases and evaluation, the Impellor II has gotten the Nargath Holdings' seal of approval and has gone into production. However rather than fully replacing the Impellor class I, the ship will be sold alongside it as a premium version with higher stats at an obviously higher cost, but also with expected lower sales volumes due to the aforementioned increase in cost.
