The IMD-72 is rather basic compared to its more modular counterpart, the IMD-71 'Acus' Blaster Pistol. It has an undeniable reliability to survive high temperatures, low temperatures, and bludgeoning however, and is, short of targeted destruction, mostly incapable of failing to fire if enough energy is provided.

The IMD-72 is the standard issue primary firearm of all Dynasty soldiers and can damage enemies of near all sizes. The product of thousands of weapons and near twenty thousand years of war, the Dynasty's IMD-72 is a premier weapon.
