Image extensions? What gives?

so I use images to describe what words sometimes fail to do. in a post I was looking for images that described the scene now i get using art form other artist without crediting them whi is in fact done in the sub of my ship. but if I was able to use that image for the ship sub why not in a post? Better question. I can't use an image of wood flooring from Google as the extension isn't allowed??? Google. Seriously? anyone else had this nonsense?

The link you have must have a file extension at the end. Many links, especially from sites like wookieepedia do not have this last, that is what is required.
