LFG I do this every year

I come back for a few months, do some threads, and then eventually putter out. I think it's because I always come back without this unique concept called a plan.

So I'm looking to do it right this time around. Take my time, do a little plotting, and follow through - and I'm looking for a little help with that. While I'm not completely hard set on a specific plot or idea for Mordecai, I do have a few ideas that would mesh very well with him as a character and would challenge me as a writer. Take a gander at a few ideas I have below and let me know if you're interested.

Tl;dr for Mordecai as a character (since I'm too lazy to update his bio):
  • Younger brother of the infamous Darth Carnifex. House Zambrano representin'.
  • Oddly 'good' and 'noble' for a Sith. It's real fun to clash with the wickedly evil stereotype by being a Sith Lord that has a mostly stable marriage, home life, and a few genuine friendships.
  • Unshakeable allegiance to the Sith Empire that primarily stems from the fact that it's his home. That, and the people he loves also live there. He knows no other life.
  • Has an Arkanian dragon named Rhaegos. The two formed a deep bond when Mordecai was a young man and have fought alongside each other for the better part of two decades.
Themes I've been thinking about:
  • Family. Not so much the extended Zambrano family, but his own. Since Moredecai's wife, Carly, is infertile, this opens up an avenue of adoption. Whether it's an adopted son or daughter (or both), an attempt at creating a 'normal' family in an otherwise tumultuous galaxy really tickles my fancy. Imagine a Sith Lord picking up their kid from the academy on a dragon or going on outrageous adventures across the galaxy. Add some inner turmoil to the mix where maybe their inner values clash.
  • Slice-of-life. Kind of an odd concept in a universe where [it seems like] nearly everyone has magical powers, holds a grudge against people of a different lightsaber color, or wants to be the protagonist. To me, Mordecai has always been my 'comfy' character where I'm satisfied with him not being incredibly powerful or remarkable. It'd be fun to experience the simple things in life with a friend or a rival to showcase the more insignificant and trivial side of Star Wars. Crazy antics and happenstance included.
  • Light/Dark Turmoil. Mordecai has always been a very stable character for me. I haven't really taken many chances with him that would drastically alter his personality, behavior, or mindset - but I kind of want to. Sometimes I envision a story where he loses everything he's worked for, only to sink deeper into the Dark side and truly become the Sith he was meant to be. Or maybe he realizes he's been fighting for the wrong side the entire time, with the Light side being his only chance at redemption.

If any of this interests you in any way, reach out. Let's write something cool and meaningful, together. Drop a PM, reply below, or find me on Discord at Lazarus#3517.

Thanks for reading. xoxo

Kinda curious about the whole family concept, since I have made it a pretty large part of Malum's whole thing (the greater Marr family, the stricken branches, the Tsis'Kaar family, etc) not entirely sure how it would go as Malum does have some alive parents though having a strained relationship with them. However, as it stands right now they're nameless OOC, and NPCs, but could be cool to have some sort of father-son dynamic develop.

Though not sure if Malum's age is an issue, him being twenty, so far from being a kid.

I love overarching plots <3 and I am a sucker for wanting to help.

How could I help?
1. Brainstorming xD
2. Ala believes every dark sider has light within, if you want someone that refuses to give up that. There you have it.
3. Brandyn would be the opposite. If you want a young impulsive Jedi that will see a dark sider as an enemy to be defeated. Well. There you go.
4. Brainstorming xD I love it. Even if I am not involved in the actual RP side. Discord me if you want.

Peace.

Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr - No issues with Malum being that old, my man. Even a twenty year old needs a little wisdom and hand-holding along the way to reach those soaring heights of ambition. Malum having an existing family already could prove to be a fun dynamic to add if he and Mordecai mesh well, potentially offering a future conflict where Malum may grow closer to Mordecai than his biological family - or vice versa.

Malum has a lot of potential and I think we'd have a lot of fun together. Could either end up as best friends, or tightly strained as personalities and values clash.

Hello, brother. Might be nice to get the siblings back together for a thread? Mordecai Zambrano Mordecai Zambrano Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex
Saeth Zambrano - Dear sister, it's definitely time to break bread together and watch holovids of when we were kids! :p

Ala Quin - We could even do a mix of both. Where an intense rivalry and conflict shifts into something softer, where both parties come to realize there's more than meets the eye. I'll totally be hitting you up to talk some more!

If you wanna go for a light/dark turmoil kinda story, feel free to hit me up :D always down to plot and help make awesome stories. Both small and long-term
Valery Noble Valery Noble - I'm gonna be lame and echo the sentiment in what I said to Ala above! A mix of fighting between Mordecai and Valery that could potentially lead to something beautiful... or disastrous. And incredibly fun to write out.

I am looking to have Cedwyn interact with people, either as a part of work or just to build him more. He's a neutral FU with a history of Sith training so could provide some insight into the light/dark debate.
Cedwyn Blaidd Cedwyn Blaidd - I can see Cedwyn and Mordecai getting along rather well, even if they do nothing more than engage in some simple dialogue. I'm sure they have a lot to learn from one another!

Works for me, how would you want to start things?

If you would be interested in delving into the debate over Light and Dark side aspects, but would like a less aggressive storyline for it, Elemris here would be your gal! She is exploring the creation of a new balance of Light and Dark side elements in the Force, and she would be most interested in talking to a Sith who does not drop off the deep end in their excesses.
