- Appearance: Hyson is of slightly above average height being roughly 1.65 meters tall, and is on the thin side weighing 68 kilograms. He has the typical blue skin of his species, along with the golden eyes. Golden markings, many of them Sith in design, cover his skin in the traditions of his people. He is generally garbed in armored robes of various shades of red to black.

[*]Personality: Hyson is very much the consummate Sith scientist. He is completely amoral, borderline sociopathic as he does not care about feeble things such as feelings, lives, or laws when it comes to his research. One of his most often quoted lines is 'Discovery requires experimentation.' He speaks in a controlled monotone, never giving away any emotions himself, leading to those who have met him to call him a cold-hearted droid even for a Sith. Anger may break through his neutral facade if an experiment or project is foiled, and he is likely to punish failure by making the bearer of bad news the subject of his latest idea.
COMBAT INFORMATION
- Weapon of Choice: Lightsaber and the Force, but Hyson will also make use of technology around him
- Combat Function: Hyson is very much not one for lightsaber combat even if he wields one. A skilled duelist could easily overpower him in a clash of blades. Where Hyson thrives is in ranged combat by using the dark side of the Force to attack his opponents both physically and mentally.
- Hyson is an accomplished Sith alchemist and sorcerer, being extremely skilled in both arts as he has studied underneath the Lady of Secrets. He is particularly skilled in the arts of mechu deru and mental abilities, as he finds both technology and the mind the most fascinating things to study.
- Hyson is extremely intelligent, his mind honed to an analytical and critical point.
- Hyson, while very skilled in Sith alchemy and magic, has allowed his saber skills to atrophy. Against a determined combatant that gets up close, he is likely to be overwhelmed and very quickly at that.
- If he ever ends up within the influence of void bubble or other things that would limit his connection to the Force, he will be next to helpless in a situation.
Born on the moon of Pantora, Hyson Whita was an oddity even at a young age. He was never interested in playing with other children, much rather preferring the presence of machines that he could take apart and study. By age 8, he had already constructed his own advanced computer. His parents, seeing his skills, and suspecting he might be Force Sensitive, sent for one of the Jedi to test their son. It was discovered he was indeed sensitive to the Force and he was taken to the Jedi Temple to learn the ways of the Force.
However, as he progressed in his studies, he quickly discovered he did not agree with Jedi dogma or teachings. He kept his disquiet hidden from the Masters, as was his nature, and made himself invaluable to the Jedi's Technology Divison. His work there led to several advancements, but he never felt he was using his skills with technology to their greatest ability. He began secretly studying the Sith art of mechu deru, finding it much more to his liking. At the same time, he began to view others around him as little more than research subjects, even his fellow Jedi, and as he often quoted to his colleagues, discovery required experimentation.
He might have continued to skirt along the line of light and dark for some time except for his meeting the sister of the Jedi Grandmaster, Taeli Raaf, a former Sith Lady of the One Sith. She immediately recognized his teetering on the brink, and in secret and in confidence as one of her first recruits to the Order of Shadows among the Jedi, she started educating him on the finer points of the dark side, especially alchemy and magic. He recognized he had finally found someone worthy of his respect as Taeli's philosophies aligned very much with his, and he had access to far more resources through her company.
When the Republic collapsed, Hyson followed his Master to the Galactic Alliance. He was heavily involved with the GA's technology development, and he was on Metellos when his Master began Operation Eclipse. Hyson revealed his true colors, killing several Jedi colleagues along with other traitors among the team there. Because of his actions, the Lady of Secrets was able to obtain valuable information on several GA tech projects. Hyson now is ensconced at the Aurora Industries Black Research facility on Nar Shaddaa, working with Doctor Votoc on advanced droid design and a new generation of technobeasts.
