Intent: To create a helmet system to go with the Hyperion Combat Armor

Development Thread: NA
Manufacturer: Mandal Hypernautics,
Model: Hyperion Combat Helmet
Modularity: None
Production: Mass Produced
Material: Durasteel

Description:
Designed in tandem with the Hyperion Combat Armor project, the Hyperion Combat Helmet is an intended component to the armor but may also be used with other armor systems. The helmet includes numerous standard and non-standard components designed to aid the wearer in combat and reconnaissance. These include a long range thermal imaging module allowing for heat based gradation up to 200 meters away, a low light imaging module that amplifies ambient light for night vision, and an alternative spectrum sensor that provides infrared detection up to 60 meters away. Also included are 15x Macrobinoculars, a holorecorder with a 5x zoom, a 12 meter range motion sensor, a detailed environmental scanner that can detect and identify a sizable number of individual toxins in the air, a bio-readout/med sensor appraising the wearer of their condition, integrated macrobinoculars, a multi-channel comm unit with a 25 kilometer range consisting of a built in encoder and an external amplifier, and a few other systems.

One such system is designed to assist the wearer in their attempts at sniping. While the sensor itself can guide a shot to target at up to 3,200 meters, only the most skilled of snipers can fully utilize this system. Most snipers can only obtain an effective 2,000 meter range even with the assistance of the Long Range Tracking Assistor. Additionally, the system requires a good deal of time to calculate the exact firing angle and is unusable in the close combat environments where the built-in Target Tracker is better served. Having a maximum range of 400 meters, the Target Tracker is capable of highlighting targets and tracking their movement at maximum ranges. At closer ranges the system is capable of offering minor predictions to the movements and likely actions of the targets and is capable of highlighting obvious potential threats for the attention of the wearer. Threats such as mines, grenades, and obvious toxins are highlighted by this system to alert the wearer, though the effective range of this aspect of the system is limited to roughly 20 meters or 40 meters in clear conditions or against poorly placed traps.

The hemlet is intended to be connected to an external power supply. In the case of the Hyperion Combat Armor, the helmet connects to the power supply of the suit itself and causes a negligible drain on the power supply. When attached to a standard power cell, the HCH can operate for a continuous 36 hours of operation.
