TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
SPECIAL FEATURES
Strengths:
  • Strength in numbers: its high squadron count allows users to overwhelm enemy point-defense or anti-aircraft
  • Slim flank profile
  • Can resist ion attacks
Weaknesses:
  • Large target from top or bottom
  • No shielding
  • No hyperdrive
  • Light armament once the ordnance is exhausted
Description: The Hyena-X droid bomber is designed for those low-survivability missions where dropping large quantities of heavy ordnance is key, where organic pilots are often considered too valuable to use. The choice made by the Xi Charrians of fitting the Hyenas with bomb bays capable of fitting heavy bombs is a choice that allows it to outfit heavy ordnance, such as Mk84 bombs, assault concussion missiles or other equivalently-sized weapons, maximizing the potential damage they can cause along the way. In addition, to allow it to defend itself against other fighters, it was fitted with two heavy electromagnetic plasma machineguns, allowing it to unleash barrages in short bursts (3 rounds per second for each gun for three seconds). In addition, its cap drains allow it to resist ion attacks to a certain extent.

However, the ability to deploy in large squadron numbers is offset by several factors, such as the choice of eschewing the hyperdrives, rendering it dependent on its mothership for deployment. For cost-effective mass-production, the Xi Charrians chose to eschew shielding, as well as more advanced droid components; as a result, they are not exactly that fast, nor are they intended to win out in one-on-one dogfights. As with all bomb bays, it has a finite capacity; this means that, once the ordnance is exhausted, the Hyena-X will find itself severely undergunned compared to more traditional fighters or bombers provided a Hyena-X survives up to this point.

Sacrificing striking power for numbers, the old droid strategy.

The only thing I've got is that the 4th strength seems off. Given Star Wars' total disregard for physics and the like anyway, and given that I don't see other droid fighters with a similar strength, I'd like to see this removed or changed.
