CORUSCANT

Tayiji's attack on Allyson, a focused stomp meant to disable, was evaded with a practiced grace. Any notion of follow-up attack was lost when the Shadow teleported herself outside of his direct striking range. Then the two began to chatter, revealing a long history between the two. The flow of the fight fractured, the air thick with unfinished business; distractions. The Marauder did not engage. He did not need to. He wasn’t here for the Jedi, but the Nexus.

The abscentine field, though still present, was losing its grip. He felt the familiar, distant hum of the Force starting to seep back into his consciousness, a faint tide returning after a painful emptiness.

His focus, which had been on the raw, physical combat, now shifted inward. He let his senses drift back down, beneath the fractured surface of the Temple and the conflict above. The Nexus was a constant, even throughout the severance of his midichlorians. The abscentine had severed his link, but it could not extinguish the Nexus itself. He felt for the Nexus's screeching horror, corrupted by the dozens of Dark Side Elites in the vicinity, seeking to anchor himself to it once more.

His next move was not a physical one, but a spiritual imposing of him to the Nexus. As the words between the two combatants continued, Tayiji began to battle for his dominance over the Temple's very foundation, waiting for the moment when his full power returned. Electrics started to form around his palm, unsteady, thumping in hitches with the slow return of his Force senses.

Interrupting Allyson and Zaavik, the Dark Marauder shot a first shockwave of Force Lightning, an erratic strike delivered amidst the struggle between him and the Nexus, not focused on a single target but sweeping the vicinity like a thunderstorm.

EQUIPMENT: Rann's Lightsabers

Rann seethed in pain at the mention of his arm. "Why is it you never get used to getting shot." He muttered rhetorically as they retreated. He turned his head over his shoulder as the Imperials recovered and began to advance down the corridor again, but it wasn't his problem not anymore. He disignited his lightsabers and returned them to his belt as they ran.

"I hate running from a fight," he said through his breaths, looking at Rikuan with frustration in his eyes. There were simply too many of them. For every five they downed, fifty were behind them. Rann took another look at the temples architecture as they ascended the stairs, following Eve and felt a pang of sadness in his heart. What would become of this place if the Empire won today? This beautiful building with a storied history...not all of it good.

He dreaded the thought, and focused more on the people aspect. What would happen to anyone who couldn't get away?
He grunted and pushed himself forward, trying to sprint faster. Getting everyone out was the priority. Kark the building.

The trio arrived at a towering chamber doors wrapped in the same vines that had been assisting them as if it was protecting what lie inside. When Eve pushed on it, and the vines gave away as if they were never there, he saw that they were indeed protecting something...

A group of younglings, terrified. Crying. It shamed Rann that he ever cared about a building for even a second.

His face wore a warm smile as Eve introduced him and Rikuan, and he approached, bending over slightly and nodding at the children, "You kids… I can't imagine how brave you've been." He knelt, smiling like a proud teacher. "Incredible. Truly."
He nodded towards Eve, "And she's right. You're going to be okay. The hard part is over now," he nodded at the kids, meeting each of their frightened eyes individually, his smile growing wider before he stood up straight again, looking at Eve and Rikuan.

"Eve, you need to take the front," he said as she ignited her white lightsaber. She looked elegant with just the one, he was eager to see how she'd do with two...it was a bit of a risk, but he tossed her one of his, "Use it or don't," he muttered, wincing as he rolled his shoulder. "It's dead weight to me right now." He looked at Rikuan, "You and me get the rear. We're both nicked so we'll cover eachother," he then turned to the children, "And you brave little ones stay in the middle and make sure to keep each other safe and sound."
