  • Aggressive Close-Quarters Firepower - The Hound’s Mercy excels in ambush and boarding actions. Its forward-mounted ion cannons and multiple turret emplacements can cripple shields and weapons in moments, leaving targets exposed to raider craft. Its side-mounted flares and ventral cannons provide wide-angle suppression during close combat, allowing pirates to overwhelm larger ships before they can recover.
  • Expanded Starfighter and Shuttle Bays - The widened hull sections give the Hound’s Mercy a decisive tactical edge for a corvette-sized vessel. It can launch starfighters or assault shuttles almost simultaneously, enabling swift raids, boarding parties, or escort screens without relying on external carriers.
  • Overpowered Engines and Burst Maneuverability - The modified nine-engine cluster grants speeds rivaling smaller vessels. This makes the Hound’s Mercy deadly for fast interception, surprise attacks, or rapid withdrawals when the fight turns unfavorable.

  • Crew Efficiency and Maintenance Issues - Operated by a pirate crew with limited resources, the Hound’s Mercy constantly suffers from mechanical inconsistencies and misaligned systems. Jury-rigged weapon calibrations and unreliable shield harmonics reduce its performance in prolonged or coordinated fleet battles.
  • Patchwork Armor and Exposed Systems - The hull plating, scavenged from multiple ship classes, leaves inconsistent protection across key sections; particularly near the hangar flares and dorsal conduits. A precision strike to these areas can cripple flight operations or breach life support zones.
  • Volatile Reactor and Power Distribution - The corvette’s reactors have been overdriven beyond safe tolerances. Sudden energy spikes during heavy combat or emergency maneuvers risk system overloads, power blackouts, or catastrophic venting from the engineering deck. Sustained engagements are particularly dangerous.

Once a proud diplomatic corvette of the Core Worlds, the Hound’s Mercy is now an infamous predator of the Outer Rim trade routes as an extensively rebuilt and rearmed CR90-Class vessel twisted into a pirate warship. Its once-sleek frame has been overhauled through decades of black-market refitting, battlefield salvage, and outlaw engineering. What remains bears only a resemblance to the shipyard-standard CR90.

The Hound’s Mercy now sports a widened hull profile, with flared side sections grafted on to serve as starfighter housing bays and raid launch platforms. Each side bay can independently berth a squadron of starfighters or assault shuttles with an additional interior space for ground vehicles. Further external clamps are present for starship holding and exposed maintenance rigs marking its rough-and-ready design philosophy. Scarring, mismatched hull plates, and visible conduits run along the surface, betraying countless repairs made without access to proper facilities.

Its triple-deck internal structure is a chaotic blend of practicality and desperation with Deck One serving as the Command and Fire Control. The original bridge remains intact but highly retrofitted with scavenged targeting computers and a decentralized auxiliary helm resides on Deck Two for redundancy in battle. A "new" forward command section with a flatter face has been reinforced with armor plating and magnetic shielding replacing the original design, being the most obvious sign of rebuild.

Deck Two serves as Engineering and Hangar Bays and extends upwards where passenger quarters were formerly. A labyrinth of jury-rigged fuel lines and plasma conduits feeds the ship’s nine-engine cluster through the centerline of the ship. The engineering deck doubles as a storage space for contraband and salvage, while the hangars bustle with pirate mechanics, slicers, and droid riggers maintaining the starfighter complement and other vessels they acquire.

Deck Three serves as Crew and Boarding Operations area in the bottom-most section of the ship. Once storage, now converted into cramped bunks, armories, and breaching prep chambers lined with racks of weapons and pressurized assault gear. Access to escape pods are through this area.

The ship’s gunmetal-gray hull gleams with a predatory sheen, its plating pitted and patched with darker alloys and heat scoring from countless skirmishes. The Hound’s Mercy’s firepower is formidable for a vessel of its size with twin XV7 turbolasers turrets, eight H9 Turbolasers cannons in varied locations, and a forward-mounted pair of V-90 Protector Ion Cannons capable of disabling shields for boarding actions.

Despite its aging frame, the Hound’s Mercy remains fast and vicious, driven by reinforced ion drives and overclocked reactor cores that make it devastating in short bursts of power. Its distinctive aft silhouette with an uneven cluster of glowing thrusters often heralds its arrival moments before sensors detect it.
