Lightsaber - Pequod

There was a lot on Reina's mind. Too much if she had been honest to herself. Tython hadn't been the place she wanted to deal with those thoughts. The quiet. The jungle. It didn't fit her. Nor did Coruscant to be fair, but it felt more relaxing than Tython did. The sound, the smell and even the sight of all the neon lights did wonders on keeping her mind busy. It wasn't as if she wanted to run away from her problems. She just wanted a momentary break from it all. The pressures of trying to be a Jedi, being told that she wasn't a true Jedi because of her actions. Because forgiveness wasn't her way. Not yet. This was exactly her problem. She was focusing on these thoughts far too much. It was time to find some form of distraction as she wandered amongst the streets of Coruscant.

Even with it no longer being the capital of the Galactic Alliance, the planet was more alive than ever. The bars were more energetic than ever, clubs filled with people stumbling out drunk. In the past, Reina might have been one of those stumbling out drunk. Trying to find answers at the bottom of a bottle, answers that were never there. It had been an unhealthy way of coping with things...At the very least it wasn't a coping mechanism for her anymore. No, instead she had replaced one self destructive habit with another back at Tython. But she wasn't on Tython anymore. Not for today.

She made her way through the upper streets, eventually coming across a street food vendor. Well...She was allowed a small guilty pleasure at the end of the day right? It had been a while since she could get some form of junk food. There was something so satisfying about having some greasy and unhealthy goodness. And so that's what she went to do, stepping up towards the vendor and holding her finger up.

"One hot dog please. Plain. Don't want. any extra junk."

And with that, Reina handed over the credits before taking the hotdog, stepping off to the side to find a bench to sit on. She bashed her fist against her prosthesis for a moment, making sure that the damned thing wasn't going to lock up on her before she started to eat. It wasn't exactly seafood, but anything was better than being stuck on a vegetarian diet. Today was going to be good for Reina. A day where she could just be herself. Be a normal person.

Sneaking onto Coruscant was pretty easy nowadays.

With the Alliance no longer using the Core planet as its home base, Allyson could come and go as she pleased. Nothing beat a Corellian street dog, but Coruscant was a close second. She knew she had to take advantage of the mission being located here—she'd never live it down otherwise.

She also didn't know when the next mission would take her to Coruscant for that matter.

Sitting on a bench, Allyson unwrapped the delicate and delicious street food as she pondered the trials of life. She'd gotten nearly everything she could on the hot dog, making it more a feast fit for a king than a simple dog and bun. Just as she opened her mouth to devour the treat, the sharp sound of prosthetic abuse echoed nearby.

Her eyes flicked toward the source: a girl, beating the living chaos out of her artificial limbs. Being who she was, Allyson stood, rewrapped the hot dog, and approached.

"Trouble?" she asked, standing over the girl before kneeling to meet her at eye level. Her gaze moved to the damaged equipment, already sensing the programming was off—something was misaligned, and the way the girl was jostling it would only serve as a temporary fix.

Allyson offered a half-hearted smile as she stood and extended a hand.

"You shouldn't beat it like that. It's doing its best to help you," she said. "I can fix it pretty easily if you want—maybe even show you how to patch it up yourself."

While she'd planned to use Mechu Deru to make the repairs, she could always use tools if necessary. Still, something told her the girl was gifted. That made it easier for the Corellian—assuming the girl let her help.

Then she spotted the hot dog again and grinned.

"But we can wait till after we eat, of course."

Allyson pulled the overloaded dog from her leather jacket and unwrapped it once more. It was nice to have company, even if it was just for a hot dog. She took a seat beside Reina and exhaled softly, preparing herself for the messy endeavor of devouring the treat.

"Coruscant's got good dogs,"
she mused. "But Corellian street dogs? Peak. Especially the ones on the corner in front of the old Green Jedi Temple."

"Hm?"

Reina looked up at the sound of the voice, before giving a small shake of her head. She hadn't even thought about the noise she'd have been making by whacking away at her prosthesis.

"Oh. No. It's just...I'm not used to this one. I had a better prosthesis. But...it was blown up."

At that, Reina waved her hands towards her face as if to say that the various small scars over her face had came from the incident, because...well. It had been. She didn't go into detail about how it got destroyed, but she did reach out to take the stranger's hand, giving her a firm handshake.

"I'm Reina. Sorry for the noise...This damned thing just gets on my nerves compared to the old one. It's not as useful either. I had like pneumatics and cortosis incorporated in the last one. I'd appreciate some help though. I know how to fix basic stuff, but this is a bit out of my wheelhouse."

It came with being raised on a ship. She knew how to fix standard things like the lights, or if wires were out of place, but that was it. Something like a prosthetic leg was way out of her skill house. The more she learned, the better however in her eyes. She did have a little intendent streak, so the more she learned how to do things herself, the better.

"I've always been more of a seafood fan. It's hard to get that on Coruscant though. Corellia had some good food last time I visited though. Went there for my birthday. Didn't know there was a Green Jedi Temple there...then again, I didn't even know there were green Jedi."

She didn't know much about the Jedi as a whole if she was being honest. Reina wasn't a scholar. She wasn't well educated in her eyes. She knew the basics, but she was never going to become genius or wealth of knowledge. Reina was more of a practical person at the end of the day than theoretical.

"I should probably visit more of the Temples if I want to learn how to be a "better" Jedi. Only ever really been at the one on Tython and Lothal. Neither of them are really my vibe though. Not enough water for my liking."

Someone else might have asked the stranger if they were a Jedi, considering they brought up the Green Jedi Temple, but it wasn't important to Reina. At the end of the day, the woman next to her just seemed...pretty average all things considered, going off her appearance. Casual maybe. She didn't seem like the kind to stand in a crowd like Reina did.
