- Astronomical Location Name: Horizon's Crown
- Classification: Asteroid Field
- Location: Between the planets Ord Tiddell and Euceron, insignificantly closer to Euceron.
- Rotational Period: N/A
- Orbital Period: N/A
- Size: Small
- Affiliation: Athriel
- Population: Sparse
- Demographics: Humans (Various) [95 %], Sephi [3%], Yuzzem [2%], Miscellaneous [>1%]
- Accessibility: Isolated in Deep Space although not hidden as the location is in close proximity to the Perlemian Trade Route. Security is comparable to that of a traditional terrestrial colony. Ships entering sovereign space of Horizon's Crown will be hailed. Those vessels who do not respond will be marked for surveillance. The colony has only meager starfighter numbers which are used mainly as a deterrence against pirates and the same can be said for the internal security which consists mostly of security droids with blaster pistols.
- Description: A small asteroid field consisting of ~12 asteroids of a small size except for 1 massive asteroid which is located at the center of the field. The field as a whole is characterized by its massive deposits of Amethyst and the gas like cloud of crystal particulates that engulf the field itself.
- The Crown: The single largest asteroid by far in the asteroid field. Roughly round in shape and measuring at 120 kilometers across it dwarfs all other companion objects within the field, and could possibly be the progenitor of the field before a cosmic event shattered a much larger object. It is marked with a tight cluster of interconnected habitation domes on the surface near the equator, the only sign of civilization on the asteroid, which looks like a small spot in comparison to the gigantic asteroid. Below these domes are excavated caverns which house even more developed man-made inhabitable areas.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Horizon's Crown (formerly known as Asteroid Field 77U) is an asteroid field of unknown age although it can be safely assumed to be at least several decades old if not more. In the vastness of space these asteroid fields are not uncommon and often the target of mining corporations of agencies of interstellar government entities. Horizon's Crown had no noticeable signs of mining activity and was not claimed by any government when it was discovered by Athriel and his crew. In mid 855 ABY the asteroid field was claimed by Athriel with the intention of using the location to create a city under his own regime. Horizon's Crown is characterized by being relatively small in coverage and quantity in objects as it consists of just about a dozen asteroids, the majority of which are less than 1,000 meters across except for one. There is singular large asteroid that is 120 kms across and is of a, albeit irregular, round shape which Athriel named The Crown. The naming scheme chosen was to represent the largest among the asteroids as the centerpiece both astographically and politically with the rest of the field while the field itself was named to represent the aspirations of those looking for a new life.
Construction began in haste in late 855 ABY and the completion of the major residential areas on The Crown finished in the early months 857 ABY. With the first few hundred refugees-turned-subjects settling in to their new home the ship captain and land lord proclaimed himself Prince Athriel the Sovereign of Horizon's Crown and its people by 858 ABY. With this came a declaration of sovereignty towards both Ord Tiddell and Euceron.
