ship_relic_by_derbz-d5420u8.jpg

The scouts had reported something. The remains of a massive ship, likely a Star Destroyer. It was supposedly still in a repairable state. The Concord could not afford to pass up an opportunity like this. It was too significant, too much by chance.

The entirety of the Flotilla arrived in orbit of Vasek, over the southern side of the planet where the cruiser supposedly was. It pinged the team on the ground, a simple request for a Sitrep if nothing else. The Thunder Spire stood ready, ships of small crews already deployed for the planet with tools necessary to put the cruiser in a condition ready to fly.

This ship would be home. It would serve as the lifeship, the capital of the Flotilla. It had to be repaired.

The Frigate Echo of Freedom sat in low orbit above the planet Vasek's orbit. General Jusik watched excitedly from his vantage point at the helm of the Bridge, below him was the future of their newly formed sanctuary for the free. Another building block on the road to a better future. The OST stood in his distinctive full battle rattle as he waited for the Echo to get into position. He'd be accompanying the shore party for this bit of fun.

He wanted to see where many of his people would likely be staying, given the cramped corners they were currently stuffed into on their limited vessels.

"Landing vessels ready sir." His XO said as he took position as temporary Captain of the Frigate.

Jusik only nodded in reply and rode the elevator to the hangar before boarding a shuttle filled with OSTs. They all greeted him with a respectful sir or general as he boarded. Jusik remained silent and took to standing at the front, holding a stabilizing handle.

"Get ready ladies and gents. Today's the first step on our road to history." He spoke loudly and with a positive tone.

The other OSTs gave cheers as the shuttle disengaged and headed toward the planet's surface and the derelict vessel that needed saving.

The Concord needed something to refer to as home or a capitol. They couldn't go on like this.

But one day would change that. There was an announcement that there was a wrecked star destroyer on the planet Vassek. Perfect timing. Canal got on one of the small ships that contained two men of his squad, Wrecker and Nuke, and others that would help. There was box worth of tools that would be used on repairing the ship.

They arrived near the wreckage of the soon-to-be-capitol. Canal waited orders from Calico or his other superiors so that way his team knows where to be stationed and not to be focused on something else that was already taken by another team.

Until a few months ago Keziah didn't even know what a ship was so she wasn't sure how much help she could be repairing it. She still even at that wished to help out in anyway that she could. She was sure that there was something that someone whom was not a techie could do even if that was just handing tools or clearing out the rubbish from the ship. The young woman could also help beautify the place when they were all done or while they were fixing it up.

It wasn't long before she was clamoring off of the small ship which had taken them to the wrecked Star Destroyer which was to become home. It looked in quite bad shape however she believed in all that they were doing here. She couldn't wait to get to work.

"The ground team should respond when we break atmo." Calico muttered into his helmet comm.

His Belbulab, one of the few things he brought with him, shot through the dusty sky. This world was a mixture of climates, and the hot air currents made flying such a sleek fighter rather dreadful. Calico would do it though, he needed to see this for himself. The sleek silver arrow shaped vessel rumbled slightly as it broke through the atmosphere. Wispy cloud and harsh sunlight permeated through the transparent windows housing the cockpit, welcoming Calico in its oddly comforting embrace.

Below, the skeleton of what once was a might ship stared up at the sky, as if asking to be saved from the pits of disrepair in which it had fallen. LAAT/A dropships and LAAT/I Gunships soared down on either side of the Belbulab, carrying technical equipment and able bodies.

"This is Chieftain Tal'verda to ground teams. There a clear place we can set down?" @[member="Listeri Dalane"] He quickly flipped channels over to the force approaching the planet. "Canal, ner'vod, your boys will need to patch up those engines. Jusik, I want the interior secure of any...inhabitants. Scavengers, wildlife, whatever, get it clear. Keziah, cyar'ika, help the techie teams wherever you can."

Bluejay was more intrigued than usual by the news that a wrecked Star Destroyer had been found. The Concord needed a center to revolve around, even if they were a diplomatic society. A person - or ship, in this case - to look to did wonders for morale. And besides that, ships were always being sought after by the Flotilla.

The Mirialan clone paced the corner as she waited for orders to come. Then they did. She made the snap decision to go with Jusik - she would be more useful keeping the techies safe then getting in the way as she tried to "help".

"Yes, sir." Canal replied back to Calico. "All right, men. You heard the boss, let's move it!" He commanded his team as they began to walk to their destination. They were armed with weapons cause you never know what the heck is going to get at you. Armed with a vibroblade that was on his back, his assault rifle that was given to him, four detonators, and a pistol he moved through the ship and arrived at the engines of the ship.

"Alright, folks, get your tools and start patching up the engines. I hope you guys took a mechanics or engineering class." With that his team of twenty men began fixing the engines. It would be a while before they were finished with their job. "Try not to injure yourselves. Cause that ain't going to help at all."

"Got it." Jusik keyed back to Calico.

The shuttle buckled as they broke atmo. The OSTs sat silently, not even looking about as the shuttle shook more, their training demanded such stone faced discipline. The clone seemed to be unbothered.

"All right OSTs, our job is to clear out the insides of this wreck, of anything and everything. Wildlife you can kill but if you run across any scavengers or other natives, don't fire unless fired upon. Get them off the vessel and offer them a spot in the Flotilla. Anyone who doesn't obey these orders will face court marshal. You will not intimidate civilians. Remember who you are and why we left."

Jusik felt the little speech was appropriate, given the current situation.

Alliera was sitting cross legged on the ground, moving building materials to the places they needed to be with carefull application, projecting an Aura of peace and tranquility. "For the first time in a long time, I feel at peace." Alliera said, not caring if anyone heard "It's so freeing, the darkness is gone." Alliera kept moving things, meditating on her new peace while still helping the people, the darkness fading from her mind.

As the Belbulab raced, Calico's co-pilot, former Grandmaster Joshua DragonsFlame looked down at the massive vessel...

"I could get myself a nice penthouse built here. Would be a lot nicer then the shoddy apartments and tiny quarters I've lived in my whole life. Would be something fun to bring someone home for even more fun" he joked, a grin crossing his face at his jest.

Ah, he had loosened up since being relieved of his duties... And it felt good.

Zius stood next to Calico almost like a shadow to an actual person, acting as his right hand in times of importance such as this. A home to finally settle in and start from the ground up without the authority of anyone else trying to bark orders over a comm. Looking outside the cockpit now was exhilarating, the open view of a promise; a diamond in the rough, shimmering a figurative hope.

"Things are looking up, wouldn't you say?"

He turned his head towards Calico with that query, basking in the prideful moment of success.

@[member="Calico Tal'Verda"]

"And chock full of young ladies, eh ner'vod?" calico rumbled with laughter as his Belbulab set down a few meters away from the wreckage. "Well....ladies who aren't mine. Mine are off limits."

Kriffing big.

Calico pushed himself up out of the ship, armored boots kicking up dust as they hit the ground. He stared at the massive husk of a ship and the vessels coming down to commit to repairs. Things were looking up.

The Chieftain marched up to the ship, and ran his hand along its metal coating. "Seems to be in decent shape..."

He switched to the comm. "Cyar'ika, Josh, you and I will secure the bridge. Ali'ika, you use your peace powers to help Canal repair the engines. Everyone has their duties. Let's get to it." Enthusiasm had crept into his voice on the last sentence. He strolled into the dusty opening of a former airlock, DC-17 raised.

His tac-lamp came to life, casting a pale glow over the dully lit corridor. Dust had settled unto the floor, but otherwise, it looked like a standard hallway. He awaited those assigned to him.

@ERRYBODY

Krest stood atop the wreckage of the ship, already there, already looking their soon to be home over. He helped coordinate some of the workers, a smile on his face. A new home, one that never remained in one place. He loved the idea.

"This place is already better then where we came from. Floating capital too. Man this is awesome."

@[member="Calico Tal'Verda"]

Keziah nodded and followed him into the airlock. She didn't expect any trouble here on a wreaked ship. This ought to be relatively easy for them and if they were luck the ship may actually be able to get things up and running without too much trouble. "You don't think that anything is living in here do you?" Her glance went to Calico as she spoke.

It didn't matter but she was a little curious as to what happened here and why this ship was here in the first place. She was glad it was here as it would make a nice home for them.

@[member="Calico Tal'Verda"]@[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

Calico simply shrugged up at Krest. His expression was hidden within the privacy of his helmet, but he was grinning. "I'm enjoying it." He said simply as he began to trudge through the vessel. Wires hung from ceiling, and the guts of the ship seemed to have been ripped out and strewn across the once pristine walkways. It was, however, mostly intact.

"You can never be too careful Kez'ika. Never." His DC-17 was held at chest level, swaying slightly with every corner and every turn. No life was seen along the dusty walkways aside from a stray womp rat or two. "Good place to raise the kids." He turned a corner, and something pounced.

A large creature, four limbed, striped, and feline was on top of the Chieftain. It hissed menacingly as its jaws scraped harmlessly against Calico's armor. His huge red vibroblade ejected, and came out the back of the monster. ...Definitely some wildlife." He grunted as the animal ceased movement. He rolled it to the floor, kicking up dusk and insects as its massive carcass bled unto the black paneled floor.

"Nothing too menacing. Stay frost boys and girls." He quipped into the open comm, then turned to Keziah and his Jedi sidekick.(hehe) His armor was covered in glistening red lifeblood. "How do I look? Badass, ner'vod?" He retracted the vibroblade and tilted his head toward Keziah, popping off his helmet for a moment. He grinned big and wide. "C'mon and give me a kiss. It's only blood. Heh."

Following along with he others, he was also observing the wrecked ship with personal interests and a sense of being genuinely intrigued by the foreign nature of downed hunk of metal. Everyone had to start from somewhere, even when they've already established themselves. This was their new home, and no one was going to tell them otherwise.

"Wonder how old it is...any guesses?"

Zius glanced at his brothers and sisters of freedom. Nothing felt more right than this decision. It may take some time for the place to become fully operational, but at least they weren't living like savages. His curved lightsaber shifted on his hip as he took a couple steps forward, observing Calico's kill of the day. Even with the act of violence, a faint chill shot up the Ex-Jedi Hunter's spine as a sudden lust set in. He was a free man, however, the urge to act on this homicidal impulse needed to be repressed further if a life with norms was what he sought; and in a sense, he did. Warrior or not, some down time is always necessary.

A rusted door with a broken hinge, creaked open, as Listeri stepped forward. " Did I miss any of the fun?" He asked, looking around the hallway.
He whistled. " This thing's a beaut, ain't she?" He said, while inspecting some pipeline. He walked back forth, analyzing his setting. He shoved his head into a small opening, which caused him to run right into wires. He was got a small zap, but he muffled his short burst of yelling. He jerked his head out, and sat on a rusted bench. A lizard scuttled across the bench, and jumped off onto the floor. " Soo...What did I miss?"

Krest moved his way up to the group, one hand at his side. The other was held up face level and in an open palm. He moved the hand behind his head to wave at the group. "Check it out. I'm going to keep it." In tow he had one of the feline creatures. It wobbled around, clearly dazed. Krest was affecting it's mind it seemed, but he slowly lowered his hand. The big beast suddenly leaped through the air, but not to pounce. Instead it landed beside the Zabrak, snuggling against him.

Krest had a new pet.

"He's cute isn't he. Found him sneaking up, didn't take long to tame him though. Oh, Keziah. You wanna learn how?" His gaze drifted up to Keziah, a smile on his lips. This was something he could train her without the need of a lightsaber.

Jusik and the OSTs landed in what used to be a functioning hanger and quickly secured what was left. The General then sent the group off in squads to clear individual hallways and sections of the derelict destroyer. Jusik himself began to search over old Star Destroyer schematics before settling on what would probably be the ordinance bay.

Dieter trusted his men enough to let them clear what needed to be cleared alone.

Jusik had another objective for being here. Beyond helping out.
