DESCRIPTION
Designed and produced by the automatic construction facilities aboard the Beskar Explorer, home of Clan Angrund, the HF-03 is a purpose built weapon for the Clan's scout unit known as the Silencers. It integrates a computer controlled projectile with a railgun barrel, with a cycling prefire chamber located between the magazine and the launch mechanism itself.
When a round is fired it is microwaved in an instant by the prefire chamber, superhating and energizing the shell of the round, a diamond-like matrix holding together razor-sharp shards of super-dense metal. The heat and pressure is contained within the matrix shell, which is irradiated by the chamber as it passes through. The superheated package is then thrown forward by the railgun, with the round detonating remotely at a precise predetermined instant.
The shards are propelled outward by the detonation of the round as the matrix dissolves, thrown outward from the explosion with tremendous force, superheated radioactive dense and sharp blades the size of a fingernail blasting in all directions. Individual weapons can be preprogrammed with complicated fire patterns and individual rounds can be given specific detonation vectors, for extremely precise targeted fire. These shards are hot, sharp, and incredibly radioactive. The half-life or the radiation is measured in minutes, but exposure for more than ten to twenty seconds can cause lasting harm.
A highly advanced weapon, the HF-03 takes its cue from other flechette launchers and railgun weapons, combining their strengths into a dedicated weapon for hunting Force users. The weapon is a dangerous tool, which if damaged can be fatal to the wielder.
