Kitter Bitters
As someone who has made way too many blasters and weapons in the factory...
It very much depends on the character. Smuggler types will want a rugged blaster that is their "go to" and then you can add others for whatever you want that specialize in something. A lot of people who play a smuggler/rogue tend to either go with the conventional "greeble" blasters, OR they go Wild-west style. Most of those can be done in various ways. Typically a Heavy Blaster Style that is lighter weight, higher recoil. its an architype.
The Greeble blasters, like the DL-44 that Han Solo has, or even the pistol that Kay Vess uses in Star Wars Outlaws. its a simple pistol that can be modified on the fly.
I would heavily recommend looking into the character you are making the pistol for. How they act, how they fight, and make a weapon that suits their style, instead of just making "Something cool and shiny." I made a pistol for my Jedi Character Kaleleon Seleare, because he is a Wayfinder. He needs something that looks like he blends in, but can still pack a punch against those he might face. So I made
This Pistol.
If you want help to make it, I am more than willing to help out.
