Trouble
yeah no problem! You need help with anything, hit up my DMs. Can't wait to see you around!
You can link a Wookiepedia page, yeah, or just list it.Another thing, if I were to want a canonical ship model for my character, like a VCX-100 Light Freighter, but there's none in the Approved Ships, do I need to add it or link a Wookiepedia page for it?
I'm assuming for this the "Canonical Ship" mentioned in the rules is for named ships, like the Millennium Falcon.Another thing, if I were to want a canonical ship model for my character, like a VCX-100 Light Freighter, but there's none in the Approved Ships, do I need to add it or link a Wookiepedia page for it?
Yes. 100%I'm assuming for this the "Canonical Ship" mentioned in the rules is for named ships, like the Millennium Falcon.
If you want to use player made stuff, anything open market is fine for you to use! What about Open Market blasters that are in the Approved Ranged Weapons section of the Factory, like the DL-45 Heavy Blaster Pistol?
Just link the wookie page, unless you want to customize your own then you could make a factory subAnother thing, if I were to want a canonical ship model for my character, like a VCX-100 Light Freighter, but there's none in the Approved Ships, do I need to add it or link a Wookiepedia page for it?
A Liquid-cable launcher should be fine with or without a Factory submission, as the attachment is found directly in Star Wars canon/legends and is a standard modular weapon attachment. Now, if you started to add a lot of different attachments to a weapon and significantly started changing its properties, it would likely be a different story. What about an attachment for my weapon? Specifically a Liquid Cable Launcher attachment, would that need to be approved or could I just add that?
It depends on the modification, but in general, consider the ship's size and the modification you are making. For instance, it wouldn't be feasible to modify an X-wing to install quad turbolaser cannons. It is strongly recommended that, if you begin modifying technology in ways that produce a notable change to its functionality or properties, you complete the Factory submission process. Also, for uploading a modified canon ship model to the factory, would the Armament be scaled to the stock Armament of that ship, or just to other ships of that classification?
Okay, thank you. For the modification to the ship I was mostly thinking of adding a Refresher (since the canonical ship doesn't have one, for some reason), upgrading the hyperdrive to a class 1 (stock has a class 2), and adding some drop turrets.A Liquid-cable launcher should be fine with or without a Factory submission, as the attachment is found directly in Star Wars canon/legends and is a standard modular weapon attachment. For more Factory-related help, I'd suggest posing some of your questions here. The site has staff dedicated to everything Factory, and they'll be monitoring those threads more closely and can give you more official answers. You might also want to join the site's official Discord if you haven't already, and you can ask questions there (there is a Factory tab as well).John Locke is the official Factory Admin and is consistently available to answer questions and help where he can.
Ship weapons tend to scale to other ships of that classification. Also, for uploading a modified canon ship model to the factory, would the Armament be scaled to the stock Armament of that ship, or just to other ships of that classification?
Okay, so a stock VCX-100 would have low Armament due to its two twin laser canons being extremely underpowered when compared to other Light Frieghters?Ship weapons tend to scale to other ships of that classification.
For example, a fighter with an extreme armament is going to do no real damage to a star destroyer, even if it has low defences (unless there's a trenth to run)
Precisely. We don't police that too hard, because in th end it's as powerful as the story needs but that's where my ratings would go.Okay, so a stock VCX-100 would have low Armament due to its two twin laser canons being extremely underpowered when compared to other Light Frieghters?
