Culture: As it is a prison, there is little in the way of culture. Criminals of all shape, size and race run amok in the underworld large-scale testing facility that is Hellgotha. Gangs, factions, you name it are formed between prisoners who get along and they war with each other constantly, fighting to be the very best. These prisoners are all kept from reaching the surface of the planet and escaping via a humongous corps of guards that occupy the crust layer and a team of scientists that survey everything from The Eye.
Sometimes, prisoners were experimented on by the mad scientists that inhabited the place, making deathtroopers and general mischief.

History: Millions of years ago, a crew of scientists observing the barren planet that would become Hellgotha from a nearby planet saw that it would be perfect for the experiment they wanted to take place. Years later, they completed a moon-sized space station and flew there. Once there, the race set about hallowing out the dead planet as much as they could without completely destroying it. In the resulting caverns were built the many levels of the massive underground prison.
As soon as it was finished, Hellgotha's population grew and expanded as criminals and bad guys were transported there in great amounts and they continued to reproduce over the millennia. Present day, there are now 7.1 billion spawn including deathtroopers and angels occupying the planet.
The plan was to create an environment where all criminals could be sent to live. The scientists meant to observe if criminals could create a society similar to "normal" people now that evil is the norm. Knowing that they would not live to see the prime of the civilization made, they passed down their philosophies and beliefs through their generations so that there were always scientists watching and observing with the same ideals as the originals.
