STRENGTHS
  • Extreme Stopping Power: Due to the fact that UGL-01 is quite simply a high explosive grenade launcher it has a extreme amount of firepower
  • Long Range: Due to the large amount of propellant used in the shell, the UGL-01 has a fairly long range compared to its contemporaries
  • Variety: The main reason the 40x46mm was chosen for the UGL-01 is its wide variety of shells, from your standard high explosive to smoke to flares to even gas
WEAKNESSES
  • Only Mounted: Because of the way the UGL-01 is meant to be used it cannot be utilized on its own and must be attached to another weapon
  • Single Shot: The nature of the UGL-01 only allows it to load a single grenade at a time
  • Very Low Rate of Fire: Because the launcher needs to be reloaded after every shot it has a very low rate of fire
DESCRIPTION
After finishing work on the AR-01 and BR-01 the Hekler'Kok R&D saw the need to create something that could augment the capability of the two rifles even more. After a few different things were thought of the finally settled on the explosive option, a underslung grenade launcher. Again they tried to decide on what type of grenade launcher, some thinking a multi-shot would be best but it was decided that a single shot launcher would be used as it wouldn't adversely burden the user's rifle. After this was decided they began choosing the materials and settled on making the launcher simply out of their patented Titanium-Alusteel alloy as it would keep the weight down while making the launcher durable. As always the final aspect was the features and as always they added ambidextrous controls but the only other feature was a quick attach/detach system.
