STRENGTHS
  • Extreme Stopping Power: The 14.5x114mm cartridge used in the HMG-01 is, to say the least, a massive round that has a extreme amount of stopping power behind it
  • Long Range: As well as the extreme stopping power behind it the 14.5x114mm cartridge also lends a rather decent range to the HMG-01
WEAKNESSES
  • Extremely Heavy: Due to the tolerances needed to handle the 14.5x114mm cartridge and the pressures it produces the HMG-01 has an extremely heavy construction
  • Very Large: Just like the aforementioned weight the size of the HMG-01 needed to be very large to handle the pressures as well
  • Tripod/Mounted Only: Due to the weight and size of the weapon it is not something you can shoulder or fire from the hip and can only be used either mounted on a tripod or pintle mount
DESCRIPTION
After finishing work on the LMG-01 and the GPMG-01 the Hekler'Kok R&D team began work on a heavy machine to be used on a tripod and mounted on vehicles and could be used for either laying down massive amounts of suppressing fire and possibly even anti-materiel roles. In order to achieve this they decided that the 14.5x114mm cartridge would be the basis on which they would build the weapon. After deciding on the cartridge they needed to decide on the materials. For most almost all of the HMG-01's construction they decided to use their patented Titanium-Alusteel Alloy while as usual lining the barrel with Chromium and plating the weapon in CeramiCoat.

After all this was complete the team began work on the features they would add into the weapon. As is normal with all Hekler'Kok weapons the HMG-01 has fully ambidextrous controls to better accommodate all shooters. A much needed recoil buffer system and heavy barrel were added to of course try and reduce the weapons recoil. A flash suppressor was added because of the massive muzzle flash the weapon exhibits when fired. An optic rail was added on the weapons feed tray cover so users can fire the weapon accurately at long ranges. A quick change barrel was added to keep the barrel from overheating and warping due to continued firing. Lastly they added a tripod/pintle mounting system so the weapon could be used effectively.
