Not knowing where to meet the elder Corek, Makai choose Naboo. He did know the family often was found in the Core and was, at least at one point, was heavily involved with the Galactic Alliance. Forget Junior, he was far too involved with his new lady love and gun running down the hyperlanes. Besides, if one wanted a contract, perhaps it was best to go to the source. He was a little nervous to reveal his project. Not because he was worried about Mister Corek thinking it was a horrible idea, but more because he didn't want the Loth-cat out of the bag so to speak.

His little project was going to need security. Decent security. There wasn't many people he could trust to provide such a thing for his employees. Not on a planetary level at least. Hyperlane security was a dime a dozen....but security for an entire system? There was a challenge. Yet he remained hopeful. If the Galactic Alliance was collapsing then now would be the time to strike. They could easily scoop up retired and disillusioned soldiers for the task. In fact, he was counting on Mister Corek being able to recruit them.

Makai just had to get the older man to agree.

Hands shoved into his pockets, anxiously rocking back and forth ever so slightly as he waited in the lobby for Mister Corek to arrive. A little overeager? Perhaps but he was on the cusp of progress.

Noah Corek was a man who usually didn't entertain requests to meet or social calls except for a very few select individuals. Makai Dashiell was not one of those select individuals. His father Judah was, him and Noah having been good friends for a long while and though Makai was the aforementioned man's son and near best friends with Noah's own son he hadn't interacted much with the young man and therefore didn't trust him well enough to meet. He was however lured to the meeting by the promises of lucrative contracts.

Not that the elder Corek was hurting for those. It was sad to say it but when long standing governments such as the Alliance teetered on the edge of collapse it made worlds begin to look elsewhere for defense. He had already fielded several inquiries from worlds wanting the Galactic Foreign Legion's help in training their local defense forces or Hekler'Kok Defense Industries help in arming aforementioned forces and sometimes even both.

Naboo wasn't a new world to the old soldier, having visited and fought on the planet several times in his over six decades. Most of the outcomes had been advantageous and he hoped that this meeting with Makai would be the same. Walking into the lobby he scanned it with a critical eye before finally his gaze landed on the young man he was here to meet.

Scanning the lobby one last time to make sure it was secure, Noah made his way over to Makai, a smile gracing his features as he reached him and extended his hand and once it was taken he'd clap the younger man on the shoulder. "Makai! Been too long, you've definitely grown."

Clasping the man's hand in greeting, Makai couldn't help but to laugh. To be fair most of his interactions were with Junior and not the elder Corek. Had it been that long? Mister Corek and his father had probably hung out around one another but Makai was certain that yes, it had been that long and he hadn't personally run into Noah since university.

"I suppose it has been that long. Don't worry, I think all my growth spurts have stopped by this point." Makai found it amusing, grin on his face as they spoke. "Thank you for coming out this way. Wasn't sure where we could meet. The Core is a relative mess and I'm not quite certain where you live these days."

Possibly further out? The half Galan was pretty sure Junior had at least a younger sister so they probably did live away from the action.

"I hope your trip was uneventful. How are you? How is the family doing?"

Junior was useless for such updates. Maybe a grunt tossed in his direction. So odd Junior wasn't much of a conversationalist, even with himself, and Makai considered Junior to be one of his friends. As he asked the question, he motioned to a little courtyard with flowers and a water feature. The senior Corek seemed more the type to walk and talk rather than sit and hash something out.

Makai would be right as him and the senior Dashiell had seen each other a few times in the last few years but Makai had been noticeably absent from all of those meetings, Noah knowing that the younger Dashiell had been busy building his business and tending to his wife and child, Senior recognizing that this was a full time job in of itself.

He nodded to Makai's assertion about the Core, it was indeed a mess. "The Core is becoming more and more unstable by the day, thankfully Alderaan is one of those few planets that people tend to leave it be. Perhaps because of its past or its ability to stay relatively stable keep the proverbial wolves at bay."

Once again his head nodded to Makai's words. "Very uneventful. It's easier when you have your own ship but it's still a hassle. Travel time is increasing with all the new jurisdictions you have to fly through but with a nudge and a push here and there you can grease the wheels." Noah Corek was a man that understood to get results that sometimes rules needed to be bent, and on occasion broken.

He gave Makai a genuine smile when he was asked about his family. "Very good. Most of the kids are out of the house, just the last pair of twins and we will be empty nesters…" As they walked off towards the courtyard his eyes, the same ones that had earlier in his life had observed much behind the scope of a rifle, observed the young man. "I'm sure that isn't the reason you had me travel such a distance isn't to ask such mundane pleasantries…"

"Don't get me started on travel times. Its been a real b!tch to get products where they need to be. As a man who deals in raw materials its a real issue when we're passing through. Some governments don't like corporations passing through so there's extra taxes and levies. Just the cost of doing business these days."

Makai nodded at the empty nest comment. He wondered how Mister Corek was going to handle that - did the man have grandchildren? Maybe, not from Junior obviously. It wasn't his place to pry and as the elder Corek mentioned, they didn't come all this way to hang out and catch up.

"You're right, I didn't come here to hear about the kids, although I am interested. Nice to know they are growing up and doing their own thing, its a great feeling as a parent."

The half-Galan paused, moving on to the real topic, the reason why he had called upon the senior Corek.

"I am building a massive project in the Slice. Something Myra and I can call our own and usher in the next wave of our respective companies. With such a project comes security concerns. I need security for an entire star system. Five planets. I would like to contract you or, if you aren't up to it, I would trust your judgement on who would be able to handle such a task with tact and sensitivity."
