- Hellborn Trophy: The mark is a unique trophy unlike any other piece of equipment, giving its owner prestige and value beyond practical use.
- Token of Remembrance: Imbued with energies from the chaotic events of Humbarine, and a confidence cloth, the mark both boosts its wearer with confidence and helps them resist mind and body-altering Force Powers.
- One of a Kind: The materials of Humbarine cannot be retrieved again, and there is very little in the way of mending or repairing the mark.
- Small coverage: The physical protection the mark lends is confined to a relatively small area, and by itself would be a rather lacking piece of armor.
When an emergency beacon from vode sent to recon the fringe Core world of Humbarine was transmitted to the Mythos Fleet, the Iron Covenant did not hesitate in dispatching their best forces to quickly extract their Mandalorian comrades. But what was meant to be a straightforward operation quickly devolved into a nightmare. The Sith had taken over Humbarine, an order of Sith unaccounted for, though the Dhanast and Blackwall Empress somehow stood among them.
Both sides dug in, and in the resulting pitched battle, Humbarine was ravaged beyond recognition. Many vode fell that day in a conflict that some tacticians would have deemed unwise; surely more lives were lost in the rescuing than had been rescued. But Mandalorians did not operate by numbers first, but by their loyalty to their kin.
A quantity of material, cloth, ragged banners, scraps from the fallen, were retrieved and extracted in the withdrawal from Humbarine. This was turned by the forgemasters of the Kayatr'ade into the Haran'val Mark, a token of remembrance for all vode who fought on and above Humbarine that they might carry a piece of their fallen with them, and never forget to avenge their fallen brethren.
