Happiness Is Real When Shared [Ylva & Thurion]

"You're very generous, Thurion" Ylva replied to Théodred's Father, [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] concluding with a "Thank you" before catching the eye of [member="Coci Heavenshield"]. Ylva could almost hear the lecture in the glare alone, though she was certain to be on the receiving end sometime later, a reminder of her place in the reality of all things Valkyri and Dawnguard. Coci's Husband however had been very forgiving, perhaps going so far to brush the entire affair off as though it were nothing, for which aided in comforting the red wolf in her ease of guilt. It was then that he would turn the conversation over to [member="Théodred Heavenshield"] in question of why they were visiting. This of course bringing forth a whole other sense of apprehension, hoping that Théo's parents would be accepting of the marriage. Accepting of her.

There was a good deal riding on how they chose to respond to their Son; the years that had passed them by had been wondrous and more fulfilling than any other period of her life before Midvinter. She and Théodred had met some time before that of course, as he had told his parents, there was a time they'd spent with the Iron Empire and yet things didn't seem to truly open up for the couple until Théo had invited her to his home-world and she having fallen in love with the place, nearly so as she had with him.

Ylva knew that there would be some changes to come, life rarely ever stayed the same, yet her behavior of late could be attributed to one very significant change that she feared would turn everything on it's head, so to speak. Her snapping at Thurion had been a telling sign that she had something on her mind, though there were certain things that she kept buried and this had been one of those matters. Her partner, the man that she loved so dearly had put it down to nerves, which wasn't completely untrue. Ylva did wish for Thurion and Coci's approval, especially now...

"And I am the most happy I have ever been".
She turned to meet his adoring eyes, a smile taking to her lips as she then felt his loving kiss touch upon her cheek, her eyes dropping momentarily in response, Théodred making it so very difficult to keep her latest 'discovery' to herself. "Mm...-You had best enjoy it while it lasts" She said with an all too familiar teasing edge to her words, though also a reason behind her jest. Turning back to look to Thurion and Coci for a moment, Ylva inhaled quietly, half of her smile fading a little out of wariness; "Because in..." She paused, as though she were taking a moment to recall something, "roughly seven months...-You'll be a Father too" she turned to look back to Théodred, hoping that this was something that he even wanted. It was all so very new and honestly frightening for she herself.

Thurion listened to the words of his son, followed by those of Ylva, and his grip of Coci's hand tightened as his body grew tense with emotion. His other hand, currently busy holding the cup of blue milk, trembled until forced to put it back down on the tray. In fact his entire body trembled, so overcome with a plethora of emotions brought on by the most joyous news: a wedding, and a grandchild. No doubt Théo would greatly react to the news of Ylva's pregnancy, but even so Thurion began to quietly shed tears without being able to hold anything back.

Having to physically push himself out of his chair using the armrests he stepped towards the couple, approaching his son first. His trembling hand now settled upon his cheek as the two locked eyes, and he gave Théo a sharp nod followed by a smile of unbridled joy. There would be no escape or excuse for Ylva this time as Thurion proceeded to pull the two of them into a huge embrace, lifting even Théo off his feet. Tears of joy turned to laughter, the likes of which Thurion himself could not remember letting out in years. Every doubt and dark thought was pushed aside, disintegrated at the notion of him becoming a grandfather by blood.

"You have made an old man very happy," he finally said after putting them down, only to immediately start doting on the redhead. "Have you started feeling ill at all? Any pains or feelings of discomfort?" He even went so far as to putting the back of his hand against her forehead to check her temperature. Only at Coci's bidding did he back off and collect himself. "Sorry, sorry! Just... got excited, is all." He now put his arms around his wife and kissed her deeply in celebration. "You knew about this?"

Her last words were like a jolt to the heart, stunning him in that moment and although he heard them clearly enough he doubted this ears. Théo turned to Ylva looking for the truth of it in her blue eyes his expression had remained the same although his vision tunneled with only her in his sights, but within him a war of emotions raged in his being. In that moment he forget everything, even that his parents were in the room and he was about to speak when the pair were engulfed by his father in a huge hug. Laughing, crying and the sense of emotion at it's height, and all of a sudden the floor vanished from his feet.

It was not until his father released them from his grip, did Théo begin to process the meaning of her words, "A.. a father?", he approached her knowing she would be anxious to hear from him. Théo reached for Ylva's hands taking them both in his own raising them to his lips and kiss with tenderness, he smiled to her and gently pulled her closer and held her to him. "I did not think it possible that I could be happier this day", he looked down into her eyes still uncertain of it all, but the presence of love within them.

He heard his mother say something to Thurion, "No I did not", it was like a whisper on the wind because Théo could only see and hear his beloved Ylva. One of his hands found her lower belly and gently he pressed it to her, he closed his eyes as he rested Ylva's head to his shoulder and with a subtle seeking through the force, he felt it. Life inside his lady, growing strong and unique and at this moment tears formed in his eyes and they fell with joy. He turned his face his lips pressed against the side of her head deep into her red hair and he spoke to her of his love. "I love you Ylva".

It was only now that he remembered where he was, and with a large smile he looked for his parents who stood by arm in arm with no less joy on their faces.

"I knew they were together .. but not this", she added to Thurion who held her close after their kissed with a sense of joy and pride. All the previous emotion and tension was gone and in it's place was happiness and wonder in the moment. Her arm wrapped around his waist as the stood together watching the young delight in each other, it reminded her of them and the memory was just a beautiful. Coci leaned up to Thurion placing a kiss on his cheek before she approached Ylva and Théo now stood grinning from ear to ear and so proud of himself and Ylva. She couldn't help but laugh softly at the sight of her son.

"The news of your coming wedding is joy enough but this .. ", she cupped Ylva's hand with a smile, "Is has made life better, changed and glorious". And that was just for the future grandparents. "I wonder Théo? are you ready for this?", she was teasing her son, something she had not done since he was a child. "A child of one of the most troublesome tearaways that ever lived who spend most of his waking moments trying to escape the mundanities of life and the beauty that is Ylva, as wild and fierce and strong as Midvinter herself". She leaned in a kissed the pair with a mother's love.

Coci stepped back to Thurion and resumed her embrace of him, "You are one of us now you are our blood, and we welcome you with all our love". She looked up at her husband with a smile, it is the happiest she had seen him in a long time, not since the day Thirdas was born.

It was time for a celebration, some food and drink to start and it was time to give the young couple a moment to themselves. "Thurion would you help me in the kitchen please?", she asked taking his hand and tugging on it as her eyes rolled a little to gain his understanding.

"You have made an old man very happy".
[member="Thurion Heavenshield"] spoke as he held both Ylva and the Father-To-Be, [member="Théodred Heavenshield"] in his arms with a love and joy that she could literally feel radiating off of the older man, whether it be the Force that enhanced her empathy, or merely the heightened emotion of the moment, she did not fight against Thurion's embrace this time around. Théodred's Father would then turn his attention upon Ylva herself, asking for any details that she might be willing to spare him.

"I started to feel ill not long after the battle of Tháinbroek" she admitted, casting a quick glance to her lover and wondering if he would recall her blaming her nerves for the inability to keep her morning fast; "I was confirmed by a healer in Fridheim, it lasted only a matter of weeks" Ylva forced something of an awkward smile, not all too experienced nor comfortable when it came to sharing such personal details to so many. Typically, Théodred alone would have to barter to get more than a short few words out of her when it came to her health, not liking the prospect of appearing weak, yet this was something of a different nature entirely and Ylva had to resign herself to the fact that she was now surrounded by what would soon become her Family.

Turning to look across to [member="Coci Heavenshield"] as her Husband beckonned a fair question, Ylva could only smile a little further to the fact that she'd managed to hide such news from someone as closely involved in her training as her own mentor and the rumored Master of the Force, the top practitioner in all of Midvinter according to some of the younger women of the Dawnguard. Perhaps she and Théodred both would better understand now, why Ylva had been reluctant to train as much as she once did. It was very unlike her, though she had masked it until now with the prospect of laziness and laying in the company and arms of her Man while they two had the time they did.

Speaking of which, the moment Thurion had moved to Coci, so too had Théodred moved to Ylva and taken her into his beloved embrace. His hand touched down gently upon her stomach and within the force, the power shared between them, Ylva immediately felt and understood what it was that he was doing. Though he'd feel no physical movement yet against her skin, the life was very much there within her and it could be felt through the connection he made the moment his hand reached her. His confession of love came most pleasing, a welcome claim that she would smile up into as he kissed her, responding only when the moment was passed.

"And I you, Théodred Heavenshield".
