GENERAL FAMILY INFORMATION
House Khal is a relatively new addition to the Great Houses of Hapes. Records show the earliest Hapan of any significance bearing the surname Khal to be one Sinsor Khal, a male scientist and former Jedi who was employed in secret by Queen Mother Ta'a Chume I. But the first mention of House Khal as a noble family dates some seventy years after the Second Galactic Civil War, in the form of a record of purchase of the land later to be known as Mooncoign, the family's primary estate.
House Khal, once considered a minor noble house, recently made intergalactic news... albeit not for the reasons they hoped. Their attempt at achieving the highest office in the land—that of Queen Mother, by marrying one of their daughters to the Chume'da—ended in blood. After such a close brush with victory ended in failure, they have nonetheless redoubled their efforts at obtaining the throne.

- Family Name: House Khal
- Family Type: Hapan Nobility
- Place of Origin: Harterra
- Family Size: 10?
- Loyalties: Hapes Consortium
- Description: House Khal is the ruling family of Harterra, a planet located in the Interior Regions of the Hapes Cluster. A clan of overachievers, they are constantly reaching for the stars. Brilliant scientists and inventors are counted among their ranks alongside wheedling influencers and conniving politicians. As is typically the case among Hapans, all of these achievements have been accomplished by women; it is the female line which makes the decisions and shapes the future of the next generation. The men of House Khal are by contrast relegated to the background, regarded as useful only for breeding or, in times of war, cannon fodder. There have been few exceptions to this rule; most recently, a son was sent to train under the Jedi Order. But it is more common that the fate of a male Khal is to be used as a pawn in the family's pursuit of power.
"Of course she has a knife, she always has a knife, we all have knives!"
- Name: Secciah Khal | "Grandmother"
- Age: Elderly at time of death
- Species: Hapan (formerly, now a Force Spawn)
- Role: Matriarch of House Khal | Mother of Lenore, Mirella, and Arlessa | Grandmother of Ben Khal
- Languages:
- Hapan (native)
- Galactic Basic (fluent)
- Skills: Former Admiral in the Hapan Navy
- Notable Possessions: Carries a blaster with her at all times, along with a personalized dagger.
- Holdings: Moonmist, a palatial estate located on a mountain, has been in the family for generations. Secciah is the current owner and main resident of the property, though it also houses other members of the family.
- Appearance: Secciah is an old woman, though aging gracefully enough that her true age is hard to pinpoint. In her prime she was considered exceptionally beautiful even by Hapan standards, with a mane of silky black hair, a heart-shaped face, skin the color of fine porcelain and deep blue eyes framed by thick lashes. She adorns herself in colorful gowns, wears makeup to further accentuate her features, styles her graying hair in elaborate braided coifs, and is always seen dripping from head to toe in jewels.
- Description: Secciah has cultivated an image of herself among noble circles as a mischievous old lady with a taste for the lavish and a rascally sense of humor. But this benign, loveable facade conceals a far uglier truth. Unable to become Queen Mother herself, she dedicated her life to serving Her Majesty as an advisor, while at home she ruthlessly shaped her children's destinies for the singular purpose of guiding House Khal toward the throne of Hapes. Long has she awaited the moment when she will at last be able to enjoy the fruits of her labors. But as the years wear on and the thread of her life grows shorter, she is becoming increasingly impatient to taste the ultimate victory...
"Any girl can be glamorous. All you have to do is stand still and look stupid."
- Name: Arlessa Khal
- Age: Early forties
- Species: Hapan
- Role: Mother of Ben Khal | Second Daughter of Secciah; Mirella's Sister; Shaya's Aunt | Balzarg of the Sibsi N Sanilër For'ta Nidan
- Languages:
- Hapan (native)
- Galactic Basic (fluent)
- Binary (fluent)
- Others
- Skills: Arlessa is an intelligent inventor with a passion for communications technology. As a trained member of the Sibsi and a member of their highest ranks, the Balzarg, she has abilities on par with a Jedi Master.
- Notable Possessions:
- The Frequency Hopper, a stylish corvette
- DV-98, a research droid built and programmed by Arlessa
- Expensive designer clothing, jewelry, etc.
- Holdings:
- Properties on Harterra and other worlds, including a vacation home on Dreena
- Patents for her various inventions, typically involving communications methods and devices, though sometimes branching out into other areas, such as droids and AI
- Appearance: A Hapan woman in her forties, Arlessa is aging just as gracefully as the rest of the women in her family. She looks very similar to her older sister Mirella, though her hair is darker and her complexion a trifle fairer.
- Description: Arlessa is something of an enigma, even to those who know her. She seems to have it all: brains, beauty, wealth, privilege, and even "magic" powers thanks to her Force Sensitivity. And yet, there is something distinctly missing in Arlessa. She is cold, distant, and temperamental. She is capable of acts of great love and self-sacrifice, especially for her son and only child, but she does them without warmth or joy. Her love is care without comfort.
"Cedrin was a quiet man with a scarred face. He drank too much."
- Name: Cedrin Khal
- Age: Forties
- Species: Hapan
- Role: Consort of Arlessa Khal | Father of Ben

- Notable Possessions: [ Do they have a favorite soup spoon? A gadget, gizmo, speeder, or gun?]
- Holdings: [ Are there any notable assets? A company, perhaps, a family home?]
- Appearance: Cedrin is a Hapan male on the cusp of middle age. His hair is dark and his eyes are hazel, appearing brown in some lighting and a grayish-green in others. There is something incredibly sad in the sallowness of his skin, the heaviness of his gaze, the uneven graying of his beard. His handsome features are marred by three long scars cutting through his left cheekbone, above his left brow, across the bridge of his nose and into his right cheek. He doesn't talk about where or how he got them.
- Description: [ Briefly describe this family member's personality, history, how they interact with others, and any other things that you may wish to note. ]
