Faction Halls of the Jedi [Open to All Jedi]

Kitter Bitters

Keeper of Bitter Tales from the Galaxy

ZfZ2lM1.png

Across the galaxy, the Jedi are revered as symbols of hope and peace. For generations, grand tales of their heroic battles, daring adventures, and galaxy-shaping decisions have echoed through history. But not every Jedi moment is defined by conflict or glory. There are quieter times, moments of reflection, study, training, and even rest. Scattered across the stars, in hidden enclaves and ancient temples, Jedi continue their work away from the eyes of the galaxy. These are the stories that rarely make headlines. These are the everyday moments of a Jedi's life, the calm between the storms.

BP2hApn.png

The Tython Jedi Temple stands as a beacon of wisdom and resilience, nestled on the ancient and force-rich world of Tython. Home to the New Jedi Order, the temple serves as both sanctuary and training ground for a new generation of Jedi dedicated to protecting the citizens of the Galactic Alliance. Within its serene halls and rugged surrounding terrain, Jedi undergo rigorous training—sharpening their minds, bodies, and connection to the Force. While they uphold the Order's timeless values of peace and justice, these Jedi are also prepared to face the evolving challenges of a changing galaxy, standing ready to defend the innocent and uphold harmony wherever darkness may rise.

Shiraya's Sanctuary, a tranquil Jedi temple nestled among the lush landscapes of Naboo, serves as the headquarters of the Jedi Order and a vital center of training and guidance. Here, Jedi of all ranks engage in focused study and disciplined practice, honing their connection to the Force through meditation, lightsaber combat, diplomacy, and deep exploration of Jedi philosophy. The Sanctuary emphasizes balance—between mind, body, and spirit—as well as between tradition and the needs of a living, changing galaxy. From this peaceful haven, the Order coordinates its efforts across the stars, working alongside the High Republic to bring peace, wisdom, and aid to all corners of the galaxy.

zxzNtN5.png

Across the galaxy, Jedi enclaves serve as vital extensions of the Jedi, places where Jedi can step away from the broader conflicts of the galaxy to focus, train, and grow. These enclaves are scattered on worlds both remote and well-known, each with its own unique purpose and specialization. Some are centers of deep meditation and Force study, while others emphasize diplomacy, healing, combat, or ancient knowledge. Here, Jedi can hone particular skills, pursue specific callings, and collaborate with others who share similar paths within the Order. While temples like Tython or Shiraya's Sanctuary may serve as major hubs, these enclaves form the backbone of a galaxy-spanning network, allowing the Jedi to remain connected, prepared, and attuned to the needs of the people they serve.

Out of Character:
Welcome to the Jedi Downtime Thread!
This is an ongoing, open-ended space for writers to explore quieter moments in the lives of Jedi characters. Whether you're introducing a new character, looking for something low-stakes to write, or just want to dive into some downtime scenes, this thread is here for you.

Writers are encouraged to create scenes set at various Jedi locations—temples, enclaves, and training outposts scattered across the galaxy. These moments can include training, meditation, study, casual interactions, or anything that doesn't center on active conflict. All Jedi are welcome, as well as non-Jedi characters who have peaceful, story-driven reasons for being present at a Jedi site.

When posting, please specify the location and where within that location your scene takes place. Example: "Tython – Cafeteria" or "Shiraya's Sanctuary – Meditation Garden." Have fun, stay mindful, and may the Force be with your writing!

A note to Bounty Hunters: this thread really isn't meant for bounty hunting. It's supposed to be more slice of life. I know you are technically allowed but if possible could you spare us in this thread? It's probably very difficult to complete a bounty with an entire Temple to fight you. DM me if this is an issue.

Another day in the grounds of the Jedi Temple on the planet Naboo. Kas was on a balcony looking at the beautiful views one can experience while here. Taking in a few breathes, inhaled deeply and then exhaled out slowly. Relaxed and at peace of mind. Caden and Seri were occupied with some Jedi training between each other. The young Jedi couldn't help it but smile while taking things in. He did miss home, his mother and father, thoughts of how they are remained present in his mind.

Moved from leaning on the banister of the balcony Kas wandered down the hall of the Temple. Open to meet with other Jedi he hadn't came across with yet. Everyday was a school-day. New faces to meet, new things to learn and new ways to train. Kas wouldn't stop a Jedi never stops learning.

A figure was coming closer in Kas' view. Another new Jedi he hadn't met before and hopefully someone he can bounce back and forth with. Cleared his throat and began to speak to them.

"Hi I'm Kas Larsen. Jedi Padawan, aspiring Sentinel. Nice to meet you master..?" Kas paused.

I'M A JEDI? IMPOSSIBLE
SIPP'O IN THE HIGH REPUBLIC vol. 1
Issue #1 w/ Open to Interaction

A gentle snore resonated throughout the meditation garden, suddenly disrupted by an unexpectedly loud, off-key melody.

"Who's a jolly good Force user, oh who's a jolly good Force user... Oh who's a jolly good Force USER! No one can deny that I am Chancellor!" Master Sipp'O Jinn sang out, his faithful flask raised in a triumphant, albeit slightly unsteady, salute.

He was sprawled across a stone bench, his robes in disarray, one boot absent, and a half-empty flask of Nabooian plum wine precariously tucked into his sash. He had the demeanor of a man who had lost a debate with a monkey-lizard, yet his proclamation was delivered with the unwavering confidence of a newly crowned ruler... or was it Chancellor? He couldn't quite remember.

"Yes, indeed! The people, they know," he slurred, gesturing grandly with his free hand, nearly toppling a delicate bonsai tree.

He took a long, contented sip. "The Force, she guides me, you see. Right to the Chancellorship! And to this... this delightful, spirit-ual nectar. It's all interconnected, really. All part of my grand scheme for galactic peace and... and excellent refreshments."

He mumbled to the nearby tree as if expecting it to answer, his eyes half-closed behind a crooked brow. A pair of younglings walked by, wide eyed and whispering. One tugged at the other's robe. "Is that Master Pernac? I thought he was… you know… legendary."

Sipp'O cracked one eye open, pointed vaguely in their direction, and slurred, "Legendary is subjective, Padawan…" He waved his flask in the air with the grace of a broken wind chime. "The Force flows freely through all things... but it flows better after two bottles of Bail's Reserve. Trust me, I've tested this. Rigorously."

A senior Knight paused at the edge of the garden, brow furrowed. "Master Pernac, you're expected in the Jedi Temple." Sipp'O barely sat up with a groan from the bench, his eye narrowing in contemplation. He slipped on his missing boot and attempted to straighten his robe as best as he could.

Pari smoothed the folds of her bedcover and took a step back to admire her work. The small room was simple, sparsely decorated, but it had everything she needed. Across from her, another bed sat neatly made, empty for now. She tilted her head thoughtfully. Would she have a roommate? The idea sparked a flutter of excitement. Pari had never shared a room with someone her own age before. Raised among the Chalactan Adepts, her days were mostly spent in the company of adults or older teens.

She wondered how the Jedi Order assigned roommates. Was it random? Intentional? She wasn't sure, but it didn't matter much. Just the possibility thrilled her. Pari had a way of finding joy in even the smallest things, like freshly folded sheets or the hum of a new place.

Taking a breath, she opened the door to her dormitory and stepped cautiously into the hallway. She didn't want to be the kind of person who hid in her room all day. It was her first day at the Sanctuary, no classes or scheduled activities yet, but that didn't mean she had to wait to start belonging. Somewhere beyond these walls were others like her. And she was ready to meet them.

The Jedi Enclave on Selvaris, The Gardens of Unil

The twin suns were high in the sky as Ran continued her work in the gardens of the jungle enclave. Where others watered and pruned, Ran was busy erecting a new artwork. A sculpture made purely of native clay, and water. It stood a few heads higher than the tall-to-some Ran, and was nearly finished.

Ran worked diligently and deftly as she defined the sculpture’s smaller features. It was shaped as a woman, small and skinny, and its face resembled that of Ran’s. An intentional choice for an intentional memorial.

Ran stayed her tools for only a moment, as the overall floral scent of the colorful and flower-filled garden danced on the breeze. There was sweetness, earthiness, and a subtle spicy note. The Mirialan Knight literally stopped to smell the flowers. Then, she continued on, so focused on her subject that she became ignorant of the history of clay that marked her robes, skin, and somehow even her hair. She was almost finished with final touches when another approached.

The day had been progressing rather well. Aiden found himself busier than normal at the start of the day. He had grown nicely to his new role. It seemed rather humorous at first, where there was doubt and uncertainty about the role of the Jedi Knight. He took in with a running stance and had flourished quite nicely if he had to say so himself.

He made it a point to guide as many as he could, give them a small nudge in the right direction. But not for him, but for them. This was their journey, and he would listen to their words and assist them in whatever they needed.

Aiden walked with his hands behind his back, honestly in his own thoughts. Pondering the days events thus far until he heard a voice pull him from his own mind.

"Hi I'm Kas Larsen. Jedi Padawan, aspiring Sentinel. Nice to meet you master..?"

Aiden showed a small smile and bowed his head towards the Padawan. "It's good to see you Kas. I've heard your name around the Sanctuary a few times. How is life finding you here?" Aiden inquired.

"Oh, and my name is Aiden Porte. Not a Master, just recently been granted the rank of Jedi Knight."

Kas had a grin at the corner of his mouth when the Jedi Knight had mentioned that his name had been passed around a few times throughout the Jedi Order here. Shrugged it off albeit hopefully positive information. Never met Aiden before and this was pleasant to learn, meet another Jedi Knight. Perhaps in the future the two might go on assignments together at some stage.

A question was raised and Kas set his focus back on the present to answer Aiden.

"Hah. I hope it's good word of mouth. Nice to meet you, Aiden. I'm settling in without issues along with my twin sister Seri and younger brother Caden. Unsure if you've met them yet." Kas said to Aiden.

The young Jedi inhaled and exhaled the Force presence emitting Light-side energy pulsed all around and Kas basked in feeling it all. His eyes closed briefly then reopened as he casually folds his arms over one another.

"I'm always learning and training. I don't suppose there's anything we can discuss casually or specific Aiden?" Kas asked always eager and keen to either get to know others, learn new things or train himself.

He did wonder where Mellomere Mellomere and Tirenn Kaelith had been lately. Kas did go on quite a few assignments off-world and liked to keep himself occupied with anything among others' company. The young Jedi wouldn't mind another investigation assignment with his master Katarine Ryiah at some point.

Kas recalled his first meeting with Brandyn Sal-Soren Brandyn Sal-Soren in stating that he was the leader of the Shadows in this Jedi Enclave. Perhaps he could take the opportunity to learn and train in the arts of a Jedi Shadow.

As Pari wandered the halls she saw many droids tidying the place but no other sentient Jedi. They must all be in lessons she guessed. Her own lessons had not started yet, but she figured she could use this time to explore the sanctuary. She kept walking and eventually made it to a large window that overlooked Naboo. The view was breathtaking. If all else failed she figured she could go for a walk outside until the others were finished with their lessons.

"Hah. I hope it's good word of mouth. Nice to meet you, Aiden. I'm settling in without issues along with my twin sister Seri and younger brother Caden. Unsure if you've met them yet."

"Well....." Aiden began as he cocked his head to the side with a look of uncertainty. But it was quickly replaced with a smile and a small laugh that followed. "All good words, I assure you." The Jedi Knight spoke as he extended his hand towards Kas. "I'm glad you and your siblings are settling in well. Don't ever hesitate to reach out if you need anything. We are all here to help in all aspects."

The Order was indeed growing, and that was an amazing thing. What started off as a small Order was now increasing almost tenfold it seemed. Aiden had been busy was well, helping out as much as needed. That was a constant thing he was speaking off. It might've got annoying to some, but the only to succeed was together.

"I'm always learning and training. I don't suppose there's anything we can discuss casually or specific Aiden?"

Aiden smiled, he was on the right path. "That's good Kas, a Jedi's learning never stops. That was something my father was always talking about. He would tell me time and again that he was still learning new things even as a Jedi Master." Aiden chuckled lightly before continuing. "And if there is anything on your mind, I'm here to listen and give advice when needed. Is there something specific you are needing?" Aiden inquired as they would continue down the hallway.

Kas nodded his and smiled towards Aiden as the two met one another then began interacting and speaking to one another. "Thanks master. It has been good to learn, study and train here. We're getting there in training." Kas replied to Aiden. The trio of the Larsen family didn't think there'd be other Jedi Orders on various planets until they actually went and got out in the Galaxy exploring the depths of it.

"I'm not surprised in hearing that you got that drilled into you by a family relative. A Jedi as well? Huh I guess we've had similar upbringings." Kas said with a smile at the corner of his mouth. Now not feeling or thinking he was alone in having family that were and are currently members of the Jedi Order. A legacy to uphold.

It was reassuring to hear the kind and supportive words coming from the Jedi Knight.
"Appreciate those words master. Hmm." Kas thought a little deeply where he opened up a little bit to Aiden. "Well, it sometimes can feel heavy on the shoulders. Maintaining a family's legacy and reputation that is." The young Jedi said to the Jed Knight. He looked to Aiden waited to hear and see what will come from him.

Location: Tython – Greenhouse
Outfit: Clothes, Earring, Bangle
Weapons: Walking stick / Lightsaber Pike

It was quiet under the canopy of broad-leaved runaburra vines and kyberthistle stalks, where the greenhouse glowed gold from skylights and mist clung to the roots like low-hanging breath. Somewhere behind the rows, a hydroponic dripper clicked rhythmically, counting time like a metronome for meditation.

Aadihr knelt barefoot in the soil beside a row of sabawood saplings, sleeves rolled to the elbows. His hands were covered in dirt, gently smoothing over the roots of a transplanted seedling whose energy fluttered like a nervous youngling's aura.

He muttered to it. Not in in comprehensible words, not even really aloud, just a side effect of what he was doing through the Force; he offered reassurance and calm. The sapling steadied.

A few meters away, a learner had been watching him for a full minute, trying not to stare. Eventually, they gave in.

“Uh… knight Lidos?” they asked. “Are you—talking to the tree?”

Without looking up, Aadihr reached for a clay watering ladle and tipped it over the roots.

“Would you prefer I shout at it instead?”

The Padawan blinked. “No, just—wondering. Why not use the Force to move the soil?”

Aadihr exhaled, amused rather than annoyed.

“Because the Force doesn’t need exercise. I do.”

Besides… that's still a bit too much telekinesis for me.

He stood slowly, brushing his palms together with a subtle flick of the wrist that shed most of the soil, then pressed one hand gently to the sapling’s trunk. It's presence in the force pulsed warm. It would grow well here.

From the far side of the greenhouse, another Knight called for him something about a small cut needing mending from a sparring mishap. Aadihr sighed and retrieved his staff. He stood, robes swaying softly behind him, he left the vine-warmed stillness of the garden behind to tend to bruises and cuts.

Pet (hair): Fuzzy (Sha'rellian toop)

The sun hadn’t quite cleared the cliffs yet, and the air still clung to the cool hush of dawn. Birds chattered from the Temple gardens beyond the stone corridors. Somewhere, a meditation bell chimed low and distant.

In the dormitories, a large and slightly musty blanket lump rustled on one bunk-sized slab of duracrete.

Then it snored.

And then squealed.

The snore came from Jobbi. The squeal—from a damp Sha’rellian toop named Fuzzy who had been rudely used as a pillow for the third time this week. He made his opinion known by flopping off the bed with a wet plorp and waddling toward a sunny corner, where a modest heat lamp waited.

A slow blink followed from Jobbi’s eyes, golden and crusted with sleep. She blinked again. Then sighed.

"Mmm... bu wamma to bata noleeya dosha sepata!'"

That “last night” had in fact been nearly ten hours ago. She had passed out halfway through organizing her stones. Not important stones. Just…rocks. From outside. Each one lovingly labeled in her handwriting: “Definitely not a bug egg,” “Greenie #4,” “Meditation Helper maybe?,” and “Fuzzy stole this one and I stole it back.”

They were now scattered on the dorm floor, one balanced inexplicably on her head.

Stretching like a sleepy bantha calf, Jobbi slid off her bed with a heavy squish-plop and began her usual half-hour morning ritual of locating her toothbrush.

She checked:

– Under the bunk?
– In her satchel?
– Inside the leftover stew container from three days ago?
– In the stew container lid?

"AHA! Nuddcha, peedunky mombay."

Ten minutes later, Jobbi could be found in the communal refresher brushing her mouth while humming the latest Sleemo release at half-speed, her long tail twitching thoughtfully.

She paused mid-brush to stare at herself in the mirror—crusty-eyed, a little slimy around the edges, but still herself. Her brow furrowed.

"Jedi... wamma da minda bay wanjee noleeya? Dopa, peetchay agwanta?"

No one answered. But the mirror was patient.

By the time the other Padawans began filtering in, yawning, chatting, greeting the day with various degrees of enthusiasm—Jobbi had slithered back to her space, bundled Fuzzy atop her head in a towel, and began combing through her satchel for her cleanest tunic. (She found it. It had mustard on it.)

Today, there were no missions. No duels. No big moments. Just a lesson in meditation, some sparring in the afternoon, and maybe a nap under the trees if she could sneak away.

"Fuzzy, eechu doth wamma Jedi hatkocanhya... mi naa coo yauma. Mi chak doth banki mee."

Fuzzy made a burbling noise that could have meant anything.

Tilon Quill

Don't worry kid it's not real
KATTADA ENCLAVE
BUBBLES UNDERSEA

Indigo hydrostatic fields, as reliable as anything on Naboo, held back curious sea life and current-drifting kelp. Tilon had taken a few visits to get comfortable, though it was really no different from a hangar's atmospheric field keeping the void out. Now the sense that water could crush him was just a thought, not an anxiety, and he could use these admittedly beautiful spaces as designed. One such errand: teaching a class for the first time here.

Kattada was an independent enclave with visitors from multiple Jedi Orders or none at all, and those allegiances played out aesthetically and politically among the young Jedi - his peers and greener - who made up his class. He suspected Master Vodet had set this up as a decent exercise for unity and common ground.

"I'm Tilon Quill," he said, gesturing out the hydrostatic bubble, "and the glow over there is a type of sapient coral called Golden Sun, a new arrival to the area. We're going to commune with it to learn the basics of the Jedi technique for comprehending speech. If you can learn to understand a coral reef's intentions, you can learn to get the gist of Huttese or Cheunh or any other language when you need it..."
