ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Gravity Well Generators

Strengths:
  • The Graviton Forge is exceedingly durable, built of solid neutronium in order to withstand the gravitational pull of the singularity it generates.
Weaknesses:
  • The Graviton Forge is pretty much undefended by any guns or fighters, and requires outside help for protection.
Description: The Graviton Forge is an experimental class of station built for the Sith Empire, designed to hypercompress gaseous minerals into ultradense atomic states. The ships were created using the scrapped Captivitas-class gravity well generators, used once on the Captivitas-class Star Destroyer and later on the Interdictine and Thrawn-class warships of the New Order. These stations are constructed of individual modules, each of which consist of 1 gravity well generator, a hypermatter annihilation reactor, a battlecruiser-grade shield generator, and a gas storage canister. These modules are magnetically sealed together, ensuring they cannot suddenly break apart, and their shields conjoin together to create a significant defensive barrier.

This is important given what happens when the station is activated. All ninety gravity well generators activate, focusing their individual gravity wells on a spot exactly in the center of the 'ring' created by the modules, perhaps a millimeter large if that. The overlapping gravity wells merge into a single artificial singularity within the center of the ring, essentially a pseudo-black hole with extreme gravitational pull. The contents of the gas containers are then released and drawn to the singularity, where they are compressed with force that even the most powerful of Corusca gem anvils cannot create. After all hydrogen has been released from the containers and has been observed to flow into the singularity, the device is then deactivated and a transport takes away the large chunk of ultradense metallic hydrogen. Gas miners are then used to refuel the individual segments over a process that can take weeks to accomplish. The materials produced by these unique stations are shuttled to Sith R&D for clandestine work.

The Graviton Forge is incapable of being moved by itself, but can be moved or transported through hyperspace by 6-8 smaller tugs.
