Gotta' Get Gorba
VOLUME II

main-qimg-f0c4386c2ce03a6dfd3668a3e0746199-lq

It is a trying time for the Hutt Space Consortium. The vile gangster Gorba the Hutt Gorba the Hutt has been captured by the vaunted young huntress Juno Wren Juno Wren and taken to the gulag on Kestri, homeworld of the Mandalorian Enclave.

To avoid possible retaliation from the Consortium, the heads of the Enclave decide to transport Gorba to a secret prison facility located in the far reaches of Enclave space, assigning a team of warriors to assist Juno in delivering her quarry.

Little does Juno know, the Consortium has put a bounty on her head in excess of fifty thousand underworld credits. The journey is long, and the team stops to refuel at an innocuous space station along the way...

Mandalorians.

Fett wore their armour and carried their name, their status, and yet was so often decried as some form of pretender. In his youth, the would-be Mandalorian fell into their ranks in some effort to enter normalcy and in it required the armour of his supposed father, if not template. But the type of martial society that remained so dependent on rules and tradition remained far from his personal taste, and once combined with a refusal to adapt or abide, it came as little surprise when certain incidents arose and cast him out of the fold. Dar'manda, that was their word. In the countless civil wars that followed, Fett only distanced himself further and further from the sons and daughters of Mandalore - a brief dash of sympathy for those that had seen the world reduced to rubble by the Sith came and went, the life of an outcast and isolated killer in the depths of the Galactic Underworld beckoned him home.

Of them all, Gorba the Hutt had seen to it that Fett was paid and paid well, and so once news came that the Enclave had seen the Hutt fall into their arms instead well... the Mandalorian awaited the call, rather than bound into action; his services were never free, after all. In the end, there was no need to call anyone beyond the best of them. Still, it was an open hit.

Juno Wren, the name was familiar. In some vague sense.

Koda mused as much from behind the console of the Sith Imperial crafted Spear III, a relic from the days of their influence across the stars. Turned to dust and atoms at the hands of his newest employers, the Empire. He was never too fond of their kind but their credits seemed better than anyone else's, even the Hutt's. He flew in slowly towards the space station in the outer rim, the kind that some feared but made his work that much easier - the influence of Enclave only came to his benefit, no one so much as bat an eye once Fett crossed their halls. Save for the few better informed on the differences in Mandalorian armour, that is, able to hone in on the details in order to identify someone.

"Juno Wren," a voice that was once identical to millions of others filled the secluded section that housed the Enclave vessel while the Mandalorian sauntered in. "I hear you've got Gorba."

Deep Space was composed of pin pricks of light and an absolute quiet. One might even say that it was the sound of death. In the Black no one could hear you scream, after all.

The Consortium had spent no small amount of resources to locate Gorba the Hutt Gorba the Hutt , Sarad himself was particularly keen on tracking down his whereabouts. That day when Juno Wren Juno Wren had defeated him it had left a fire burning deep in his breasts. On Ilum he'd tried to quench the flames by beating the Jedi that the force had lead him to but he felt nothing except the simmering disappointment that came with knowing trickery had been his downfall.

He knew that countless Bounty Hunters would be searching for Juno Wren, the Mandalorian responsible for the capture of Gorba and while the credits appealed to him Sarad was more interested in standing across from his opponent again. She must have known that he would have been coming for her too. He'd told her to spend her credits quickly.

The Enclave, spread across as many systems as it was had integrated and partnered with many worlds, many peoples but they were not all 'Mandalorian'. When word had reached Sarad that Gorba was to be transported to a secret Prison Facility contacts he'd compensated generously had told him about a Space Station that would be the most likely place for the 'Prison Transport' to refuel. It only cost Sarad several thousand credits to ensure that he made it there first, quietly and inconspicuously.

----------

He'd waited until Juno Wren Juno Wren 's vessel had docked. Not everyone here followed the Resol'nare. Many of the Technicians and Workers that made up the bulk of this Station and hundreds of others in Enclave space were just regular people.

It would come as no surprise to him that Koda Fett Koda Fett was here. The Bounty Hunter was deep in the pockets of the Consortium and the favor of Gorba.

If Koda entered the section housing the Enclave Vessel from one direction Sarad would have entered from the other. Neither was working together though Sarad was undoubtedly less interested in the bounty than Koda was. All he cared was the Mandalorian and cracking her armor with his bare hands.

No words were exchanged upon his arrival.

The Duster hung easy over his frame, the lenses fitted to his eyes feeding him information and scanning the area. He looked every bit how Juno might have remembered him when last they met save that this time Sarad's features were hardened, emotionless except for his which burned bright...

They say that the universe likes to balance itself out, with good there must be evil, with error there must be success, and other such cliché comparisons one could make. Though one did always make sense, with money there was greed. People like to play for self-benefit, no reason to blame them, it's a fact that the brain will manipulate the host for self-protection. But the brain is a greedy bastard, it will do whatever is possible to save itself, even if that means destroying the body it inhabits. Though it feels more like mutualism as the without a cerebrum we'd have no emotions, without the cerebellum we'd have no equilibrium, and so forth. It seems like a weird balance, but such is life.

Todd always thought of gang leaders as a brain, no matter how stupid they were individually, they will seek to protect themselves at all costs. When he was told that Gorba the Hutt had been captured, he didn't much care. He liked to stay away from the Hutts as their power was weirdly wide and ending up on the wrong side of them tended to make one an example for those who may pursue similar action. It was odd why he took this job, maybe a need to help others or a want to continue working with the Mandalorians. Though the paycheck did help influence his opinion pretty strongly.

Todd was here as acting security and medical staff. He assumed he wasn't the first choice, just the others were a bit smarter and didn't want to get caught up in a potential fight. Though his guns were loaded and his armor strong he'd continue with his objective until he saw it through. The doctor wasn't told much about the trip, not knowing the destination nor how many people were on board. All he knew was he was ready to depart whenever.

With such a high priority target as Gorba the Hutt Gorba the Hutt it was critical to ensure his arrival into Enclave custody. Shai hung around the hangar where Juno Wren Juno Wren was supposed to dock. She had heard quite a bit of the young Mandalorian making a name for herself among the Karjr. She couldn't help but be impressed that such a young huntress was already making waves and taking on targets like Gorba.

It would have been interesting to see her in the Siks' ranks.

The ship arrived into the hangar, though something odd was happening almost immediately upon her arrival. Leaning by a nearby stack of crates, the Wardog's visor followed the armoured figure of none other than the traitor himself. Everyone knew Koda Fett Koda Fett and his reputation. A dangerous bounty hunter that worked for the Sith for a very long time. She figured that he had a change of heart when he helped Vren Rook Vren Rook on Tython to defeat Darth Carnifex, but that thought fell apart almost immediately.

Now he was here. Accompanied by another stranger who certainly wasn't station staff. His face meant little to her, though she knew a fighter when she saw one.

"And what's it to ya, huh schutta?" The Wardog spoke up as she pushed off the crate and closed the distance a little, her hands idly resting on the grips of her pistols. "That bounty must be royally decent for you to be comin' out this far." She continued, though her visor soon turned to the new face. "Who's your friend here, Koda?" She asked as her hands shifted across her armoured chest.

But in the motion, she hit a button on her vambrace. A silent alarm for the station's command staff to know what was going on.

Juno could have laughed. I should've started a betting pool; thousand to one odds somebody attempts to spring Gorba in transit. None other than Koda Fett came sauntering towards her from one end of the hangar, just as bold and brazen as he could be, and there was Sars Sarad himself approaching from the other side, murderous fury burning in his eyes. For Fett, she felt only pity, for he was a man without a soul, but Sars had earned some measure of respect after their fight in Kwenn Station.

In the time since however, she'd faced things even beyond him.

"Juno Wren," said Koda Fett. "I hear you've got Gorba."

From Sarad, there was nothing. Just a hard face and a harder glare. The Wardog made herself known, moving away from a stack of crates to flank Fett. Juno didn't know Shai personally, but her reputation preceded her. And her tech is top-notch.

"And what's it to ya, huh schutta? "That bounty must be royally decent for you to be comin' out this far. Who's your friend here, Koda?"

"Sars Sarad," Juno answered, hands idling near the holsters on either hip, her back facing her ship, weight shifting to the pads of her feet. She was ready to move. "Some sort of jetii. He's the one that lost Gorba." The Hutt in question was frozen on her ship under the Doc's watch, sealed in carbonite, and by Manda he was going to stay that way. "Looks like he's still mad about it."

It had been a while since she'd last seen Sars. She'd made a few upgrades and changes to her loadout in the skirmishes since, after the devastation she'd witnessed on Argovia and her frantic battle against the Devourer on Rothana. Cutting him off from the Force had done nothing, for the vessel she had battled had already been dead.

So she had learned and adapted and upgraded. Her Double-E was on the ship, though. ND-013 too.

"So it's just the two of you?" Smelled like a mistake to her. But then again, she had taken Gorba all by her lonesome, so who was she to judge them for under-staffing? "C'mon, then. I don't have all day."

Lost Gorba, that statement stung. If Juno Wren Juno Wren hadn't employed trickery, cunning some might have said and faced him as the force had deigned the result would have different. Alas, deprived of the force and with less potent munitions than the Mandalorian she had taken the Hutt. None of it was lost on Sarad, he was aware she had bested him using the best tactics at her disposal and since then he had sought new challenges and dispatched more opponents.

If he was to have absolution than Juno Wren Juno Wren would need to fall though.

At a distance he would have seen Shai Maji Shai Maji as she moved to flank Koda Fett Koda Fett though he only replied when she inquired after him and after Juno had introduced him...

"We're not friends."

...allies of convenience maybe, especially seeing as how Sarad had no care if Koda collected the bounty entirely. He was here for the Mandalorian and what she represented. It was strange in a sense, usually the force lead him to his opponents but he'd sought her out of his own accord.

When Juno started to goad them on Sarad acted, lifting his left hand with the palm facing her. Many may have suspected he would use the force to push or pull her, using telekinesis to manipulate the battlefield. They would be mistaken. Arcs of 'boysenberry' streaked from Sarad's palm to wreath themselves across the Mandalorians body at a distance. Pure Ion Energy. Mechu Macture wouldn't harm Juno at all. It was quite inoffensive to organics but electrical systems, high tech and anything integrated into her armor would take the brunt of the assault. Circuitry would be fried, data chips and microprocessors blown, energy cells overloaded. This would also extend to anything that would be on her person.

As for Sarad himself, his attention primarily focused on Juno however he kept Koda and the other Mandalorian in his peripherals. The Lenses fitted to his eyes, integrated into his armor fed him all manner of information ranging from biotics to potential threats but aside from this he was just an expert at reading body language. One might say it came naturally to him.

Though the moment might be fleeting Sarad would take some satisfaction in it. She'd stripped him of some of his greatest assets last time they'd met, now was his chance to return the favor.

Shai scoffed as Juno gave the stranger's name. "Hey, you ever heard that song? 'Que sera, sera'? His name sounds a little like that." She remarked, her gaze shifting between Sars and Koda. Sars finally broke his silence, though Shai didn't think much of it. "Y'all both look so miserable, you could've fooled me." She slowly closed the distance between her and Juno. She didn't care much for the force user, he was a far more predictable entity after everything the Wardog endured. Her primary focus was Koda.

She wouldn't mind knocking him down a peg or two...

The pleasantries finally came to an end when Sars raised his hands at Juno, though Shai wouldn't sit idly. The moment his hands raised, her left hand drew a pistol and fired a volley of bolts at Sars to break off his attack. At the same time, her right hand drew another blaster and fired a few heavy bolts at Koda. "You wanna handle the forcie or the joke?" She asked Juno casually as her jetpack started up, lifting her into the air. Naturally, the host got the first pick.

His brow rose beneath the worn and beaten in beskar, burdened with the scars of a thousand skirmishes. It was what amounted to a humoured sense of shock that found itself across his ever concealed face, it almost felt odd for it to shift in that manner. The T-visor shifted between the two would-be foes with the most subtle shift of his boots beneath him, neither of which he was too familiar with beyond rumours. Just names and words. He opted for his commonly found silence while Shai hurled insults towards them.

Fett rushed the charric blaster made by Mereel into his idle hand as the sudden tilt of his torso had seen bolts do little more than offer a moment of warmth. He seemed to pay no mind to whatever was thrown out towards Sars. The two were not friends, after all. "I'm after the Hutt," Fett remarked with a soft tilt of his helmeted head as started to stand side-on with the barrel of the blaster aimed towards Shai, "Stand in the way and I'll have your pelt, Mutt."

The HUD on the inside of his helmet ran wild, all the while.

Todd stepped out of his ship to meet his contacts at the rendezvous. He spotted the Mandalorians who he supposed he was working with and started to walk over. Though he slowed when he saw a rising conflict between all entities. Pulling his revolver out he checked his ammunition, five slugs and one explosive round.

Spinning the barrel, he didn't know which bullet was which and it would all be left up to fate. His pace quickened as he moved closer, though unfortunately he had zero clue who was for the Hutts and who was against them as he had missed the entire conversation. With a Mandalorian on each side he was trying to determine who was who. He would need further assessment to figure out who he was with.

Walking closer he tried to listen in he still was confused on who to side with, though a quip about turning the animal into a pelt and a statement on behalf of the Hutt gave him one answer. He assumed that he was on the 'Mutt's' side. He did think about it for a second, a pelt would be easier to cut down if it was already large, easier to cut away then add on to. Though he remembered it was best not to shoot those he was working with. Or at least he assumed he was working with.

Though he stood there a little outside their fight trying to make a plan and then join in the side that he was meant to be on, still a little confused on the other two's intentions.

Sars never wanted to let her talk. Truth be told, she'd expected something like this from him. He hadn't been much of a conversationalist on Kwenn Station either.

The jetii's arm snapped up, a strange purplish light crackling to life in his hand, and in the same moment, Shai fired off a few rounds to scatter his concentration. That wasn't electricity-- wrong color. Probably best not to get hit either way. Juno was on the move regardless, taking to the air with a burst of thrust from her jetpack and her boots. She hadn't forgotten how beastly Sars was in a close-quarters fight. It had been passingly difficult to match his speed and strength, and it'd be doubly so with him having access to the Force.

But she was faster and stronger now too. The only indication of her upgrades was a little bit of bulk to her form, beneath her colorful armor. She slipped a pistol free with her left hand and aimed with her right palm, angling herself in the air to take aim at the jetii below. At this point, range was the name of the game until the tactics of the fight dictated otherwise.

Shai had taken to the air as well. It was a common Mandalorian tactic, tried and true. "You wanna handle the forcie or the joke?" she asked over the roar of her jetpack engine.

"The forcie," Juno called back. "I owe him a rematch." She spied Doc 'Blaz idling at the fringes of the confrontation, seemingly confused. What a spaz. He definitely didn't read the mission jacket. "You gonna stand there Doc, or you gonna shoot?!"

She punctuated her statement with a couple shots at Sarad, aiming for his torso. He was too fast to even bother aiming for smaller targets.

The Shots fired by Shai Maji Shai Maji would ricochet off of Sarad's armor. He'd seen her raise her weapon and so he bladed his stance in response, angling himself in respect to her so that when she fired the shots they wouldn't land cleanly. Nonetheless he was jerked by the impact, his focus momentarily broken though he'd move backwards in a wide arc in response to the attack so that he could place Koda Fett Koda Fett between himself and Shai Maji Shai Maji .

Let those two fight it out while he dealt with Juno Wren Juno Wren .

By that point Juno was in the air, her jetpack ignited and her pistol in her hand. She talked to much though. The Lightsaber on Sarad's belt flew into the waiting grip of his right hand and ignited in a blazing hot phosphorescent blade that radiated with heat while he wove it into a defensive pattern ahead of himself.

Deflecting the initial shots from her blaster wide, potentially even back at her though he wasn't banking on it Sarad would close his left hand in a gesture meant for her.

The Telekinetic pressure wasn't even aimed at Juno. It targeted her Jetpack, the force of which could literally bend durasteel, crumple duraplast and indent all manner of metals. Many called such an application a 'Force Grip' though in this case it was applied in an unconventional sense seeing as how it hadn't targeted the Mandalorian. Of course crushing her Jetpack had its own advantages, what went up would then come down after all and many pieces of equipment were quite volatile too. In a compromised state it wouldn't be the first time Sarad had seen one erupt with 'fiery' consequences.

In any event and with his lightsaber at the ready as it came out of its defensive pattern Sarad would have quipped...

"Where are you keeping Lord Gorba, Juno Wren?"

...he referred to Gorba the Hutt Gorba the Hutt of course and though he'd come for her he was cognizant of his employer. If Sarad was curious about anything it was actually whether or not Gorba was still encased in CryoBan, Carbonite or some other material for safe travel. Difficult to do though seeing as how he was a Hutt.

And Todblaz Graker Todblaz Graker , well Sarad didn't see him yet but he now knew Juno had called out to someone else.

While his armour held up against her shots, the heavy bolts carried enough power to knock Sars around a bit, disrupting the force user's concentration. Juno immediately focused on him while Shai's attention turned to focus on Koda. This was going to be an interesting fight. But... she couldn't just leave Juno to have all the fun with the forcie. A rocket launched from her vambrace at Sars to keep him scattering while Juno opened fire.

Koda spoke up, dropping a threat that earned a cackling laugh as Shai fired another salvo of bolts at the Mandalorian, her jetpack bringing her closer to lure him in. "Holy kriff, can you get any more unoriginal, Fett?!" She called out to him, touching down on a stack of crates with both blasters aimed at him. "Or do I need to put a bounty on 'originality' for you to get interested?" She continued, blasting towards him.

Her whipcord shot out in an attempt to ensnare him as she fired some more at him. Fighting force users was easy. But another Mandalorian? Especially one as seasoned as Koda?

That was a worthy challenge.

:: Doc, keep an eye on the Hutt and back up Juno. This schutta's mine. :: She spoke over the trio's shared comms as she hovered in the air.

In reaction, the blue wrist-mounted shield flashed to life. In swift, sudden motions, the wrist flicked back and forth to absorb the impact of them from the bolts. Few connected with his armoured torso, pushed at his shoulder-plates in the middle of his braced stance with one foot shifted backwards. He slid across, if ever so faintly.

"If I had so much as a clue who you were," Fett commented as the charric bolts flew out towards the other Mandalorian, aimed towards the snout-fitted helmet and throat, "Maybe."

The vanished and yet the arm rose once the cord flew towards him. It ensnared the armoured forearm, the black wire tore around it - maybe so much as to tear at flesh should it be unarmed. But even as the blaster continued to fire, the exhausts of his jetpack flared and sputtered flames with the quick tilt in his frame, as if to lunge backwards metres at a time and yank Shai alongside him.

The sound of blasterfire came from outside the ship. Gorba could hear it, he just couldnt see anything - contained as he was in the cargo hold of Juno Juno Wren’s vessel. He glowered at the bulkhead with acidic yellow eyes, as if his stare could eat through the metal and free him.

Anger building, the Hutt hauled back and hurled his body at the bulkhead. One ton of mass slammed into the metal and the ship wobbled with the force of the collision.

“LET ME OUUUUUUT!” roared the Kajidii of the Bareesh.

Watching Juno fight the man he leveled his pistol with him. The man was clearly trying to use the force, something Todd always found annoying. It made his job look stupid when you could just call upon the gods or some crap to heal someone, though this looked to have a bit more malicious intent. Of course the lightsaber and deflection of shots probably made it obvious.

The Doctor had yet to fight a force sensitive, though now he wanted to inspect the neurological aspect of one. He guessed that the man wouldn't allow Todd to perform a craniectomy on him any time soon though. Getting yelled at he focused on his shot, spying the explosive round as second in line to be fired. It was marked with a red outline along the base.

He fired off one round aimed for the 'Forcie's' chest and the explosive shot towards his feet, these weren't intended to kill but to knock off balance or to maim. Though Todd knew that they could be blocked by the blade, he hope that they would scatter into liquid metal pieces and fly onto the 'Forcie'.

Replying in comms surprisingly cheerfully, "If you die cagne, I got dibs on the guns."

Sars would realize his mistake the moment his lightsaber made contact with the first blaster bolt-- he might have even realized before they struck, when the shots from Shai's blaster impacted against his armor. These weren't standard energy pistols the Mandos were toting-- they were Mandos, after all. He hadn't made such a mistake the last time they fought-- maybe he was losing his edge?

The volatile beams burst as they crashed into the coruscating blade, releasing a violent blast of kinetic force from the mini-explosions to throw his whole sequence out-of-whack. The Wardog launched a small rocket at Sars from her vambrace in the moment after, even as Doc' Tod fired at the Force-user twice with his slugthrower-- the second slug crashed into the durasteel plated flooring, exploding in a blast of fire and shrapnel.

Beneath her buy'ce, Juno arched a brow, quickly toggling her vision modes to pierce the hazy veil of smoke. The Doc was packing. Truth be told, she hadn't expected exploding slugthrower rounds-- he was making her miss her old .357 side-loader. Gorba's voice resonated from the depths of her ship, the Bes'bev.

“LET ME OUUUUUUT!” roared the Kajidii of the Bareesh.

No can do, Gorbster.

She wasn't idle in the wake of the explosions-- her open right palm buckled as she loosed a concentrated wave of force from her repulsor to knock Sars from his feet if he was still standing, or smack him back into the ground if he had fallen. Switching the toggle on her pistol from disruptor mode to heat-beam mode-- those two disruptor bolts had drained one-third of her ammo-- she aimed through the smoke at her enemy's torso and started squeezing off shots.

TSEER! TSEER! TSEER!

Nothing good ever came from giving a Force-user time to concentrate. Her second pistol joined the first, ripping off a single disruptor bolt in the wake of the heat beams.

Mistakes were made. This became obvious when the blaster bolts exploded ensuring that Sarad couldn't maintain focus on Juno Wren Juno Wren 's Jetpack and sent him reeling backwards. Even then the lenses affixed to his eyes flashed red indicating that other threats were present, it seemed as though everyone had fired something at him.

Instead of attempting to counteract the force that had put him on the backfoot Sarad, imbued with the force would leap backwards and flip through the air. The Manuever occurred in almost spectacular fashion as the rocket and exploding shots tore into the space of flooring where he had been. In fact anyone who could see Sarad as he came down out of his maneuver would notice how the outline of his silhouette seemed to blur, the speed at which his body was beginning to vibrate with literally distorting his outline to some extent though he was still obscured by the smoke caused by the explosions.

As he landed the Repulsor Beam would meet Sarad's torso, driving him backwards and downwards until he was forced to take a knee. He felt the bruising spread beneath his armor, across his torso to account for blood vessels that had 'popped' all across his pectorals by this point.

Teeth were grit at this point. It seemed as though Sarad may been on his 'backfoot' before an explosion of momentum occurred....

"ENOUGH!"

...the same speed that imbued him, that caused his outline to seem to blur and vibrate unleashed itself in a wave of momentum that launched Sarad.

Zig-Zagging, strafing and veering he would literally dance around the shots that the Mandalorian shot at him. It wasn't just that he was moving, it was that he moved at a level no human had a right to move at naturally.

To this point he seemed to ignore Todblaz Graker Todblaz Graker though the same speed at which he moved would make it difficult for either him or Shai Maji Shai Maji to track him effectively.

When he came at Juno he'd have leapt again, that same unnatural speed only aiding to launch him like a streak as he was carried through the air. It may have looked like he was jumping right at her but he didn't. Actually he would leap past her, on her side with his lightsaber flashing upwards in the process with the same speed and agility that he moved at. An arcing stroke would have flashed up, under the barrels of both Juno's pistols to effectively cut them off in a maneuver that then angled up over her head and arced back around as Sarad made his pass mid air so that his lightsaber could come back around beneath the cover of her Jetpack and at the back of her legs, just above the knees during the backswing.

He'd come down in a crouch again somewhere at her rear, his outline still vibrating with the velocity that he imbued himself with...

Shai weaved around to avoid his massive blaster pistol as the whipcord found purchase with his arm, though she didn't waste a second to keep the pressure on him... literally. She weathered a few shots to her armour as she waited for his jetpack to spark up before blasting back with her jetpack at full power, intent on yanking his entrapped arm hard enough to hopefully dislocate the appendage entirely.

But naturally that was too simply an action. She holstered her free hand's blaster and grabbed hold of the whipcord as her gauntlet sparked with electrical arcs. She let the current run along the wire into him to stun him while her entrapped arm's blaster continued to fire at him. With only a few meters between the two Mandos, trying to avoid getting hit was becoming a chore.

"Ya know what... how much is Gorba payin' ya for this one?" She quipped as her visor locked onto his. "How's about I wire ya a hundred thousand and you help us lock him up for this round?" She continued. What was the worst that could happen? Him saying no? She would be more amazed if he actually agreed to it... then again, a hundred thousand credits would probably tempt anyone in their line of work.

"ENOUGH!"

Juno had managed to hit him a few times, but pain didn't quite mean the same to Force users as it did to regular folk, even trained soldiers, and none of the shots had been fatal. The jetii turned into a blur as he dodged Juno's shots, darting his way back and forth, wading closer to her with every dodge. Juno could maybe match his speed, but not his reflexes. Not without stims, but she was wary of growing dependent on stimulatns. When it became clear she wasn't going to hit him, she stopped shooting, tracking the blur that he'd become with the gun barrels as best as she could...and that was when Sars made his move, leaping from the ground to reach her in the air.

One track mind, this one.

He came at her straight on like a rocket-- a rocket that was now much easier to aim at now that the zigging and zagging was over. Dodging on the gound was one thing, but dodging in mid-air was another. She squeezed off another two disruptor beams from one pistol while a pair of scorching heat beams ripped from the other--

And then his saber was slicing the barrels of her pistols, rendering them useless. Motherfether! That was three pistols her owed her. She dropped them without missing a beat as her jetpack blared to near full power-- she threw herself away from the jetii, remembering all too well what had happened the last time she let him get too close, feeling a phantom twinge of pain in the crook of her arm. His saber crashed into her thigh armor as she whirled to face him, marring the beskar plate, the servos beneath her armor thrumming as she tracked his descent with an empty hand as the other snatched and primed a grenade from her belt.

Her repulsor let loose a deafening whine as she fired a wave of compressed kinetic power at the jetii amidst his crouched landing.
