Name: Gonnos (Pronounced Gawn-OSE)

Region: Wild Space.
System: Mehav Gonnorc, a portmanteau of the first Syllable of every planet.
Suns: Singular yellow.
Orbital Position: Habital Zone, third planet of four: Melos, Havrun, Gonnos itself and Orcion. Havrun is in the habitable zone, Melos is the closest planet, and Orcion is a small outlier.
Moons: Two moons, Resavarus and Thu’Nachta. Thu Nacta is green, and is used primarily for gem mining. Thu’nachat has no atmosphere, but has two habitable space stations and serves as a port for species which dislike the humid climate.

Coordinates: V-13
Rotational Period: Each day is 27 hours.
Orbital Period: 259 local days.

Class: Terrestrial, habitable.
Diameter: 13,000 km
Atmosphere: Type I for the planet itself. Type II (large amounts of dust) and IV (complete vacuum) for Resavarus and Thu’Nachta, respectively.

Climate: Mostly jungle and ocean. Tropical, with a high humidity compared to some worlds.

The singular anomaly of the climate is a “pollen storm” when a large amount of riftwood has a pollen burst at the same time as a tropical depression occurs during the rainy season. The creates a hurricane of yellow, acrid pollen that is highly toxic to some species, and is commonly referred to by natives as the “Storm of liquid sunlight” to the pollen liquids reflective yellow sheen.

Ocean is surprisingly low in salinity.
Gravity: 1.1 Earth Gravity.

Primary Terrain:
Ocean is approximately 78% of the planet’s surface. The remainder being dense tropical jungle and forest, as well as several high peaks. The poles are cooler, being temperate forests with many conifers. Precipitations is frequent across the planet, but rarely snowy. The oceans are closer to Freshwater than salt, to unusual ionizing forces and an abundance of mineral fish.

Native species: No sapient/sentients are native, however, an unusual “Riftwood” tree began developing form mutated local fauna. (I’ll create a separate species submission for that in due time).

Immigrated species: Human and Twi’lek are among the most common, although there is a large Chevin populatation as well. The population is severely diverse in regard to species, with humans making only about 23% of the planet’s population.
Primary languages: Basic, and a Pidgin variant of old Sith.

Government: Loose confederation of City States.

Population: An estimated 8 Billion, give or take several hundred million, as the cities of Maluscare and Trimonis have not had a proper census in half century.

Demonym: Gonnesian is the polite term. Goner is a more derogatory phrase, and insinuates a nature to con and manipulate others.

Major cities:
Zevala Ephont: Home of a large group of Chevin following the force cult of Ephant Mon. They are ascetic isolationists, for the most part. They do not practice slavery, unlike many others.

Maluscare: A town almost entirely transient in nature, Maluscare is a series of lumber camps connected by railways. People often come, work for a few months under contract, and then go elsewhere.

Revan’s Redoubt: Home to the largest Revanite temple in the Galaxy, and a popular sight for tourists and pilgrims.

Trimonis: The greatest trade center and space port on the Planet. A major attraction here is Trimonis auction house, and the Shadow Market—both of which are often found selling merchandsise both legitimate and fake.

Sssissaressi: The Snake city, or City of a Thousand Slitherers. It was home to the Thisspiasian Serpent King Bolussarri the Inevitable, during his reign as king. Due to the late King’s preference of ramps over stairs, this city is often used as a comfortable place for legless species, such as Hutts, Thisspiasians, and the like. It is constructed primarily of stone.

Malata: Mostly Gandian H’kig Heretics and soothsayers, Malat is an agrarian village built into the planet’s treeline. They are led by tribal mystics., and maintain a quiet life attempting to find blance with nature.

The Quarry/Sledge: The only place on the planet that allows Slavery. The Quarry is a rough assemblage of mines and tunnels in the Robanashur mountains. The chief City of Sledge is led by a cult of Dark-Side worshippers who have capitalized on mineral wealth and trading to maintain their base of power.

Major imports: Culture, art, food, and technology. Also, many items are brought from “pilgrims” seeking spiritual fulfillment, ranging from private art collections to huge offshore bank accounts.
Major exports: Tourism, Lumber, stone for duracete “Archaeological discoveries” of complex and dubious quality.
Affiliation: Given the complexities of the planet, it’s ahrd to say that one person could unite the land.

Culture:
To say that Gonnos has a singular culture is to say that Coruscant has a few people on it. Gonnos’ history is one of constant migration to and from the planet, having been the most common place for refugees to land on after their home planets had exiled or persecuted them to flee.

However, due to the sheer number of differing cults, orders, traditions, and general chaos on the planet, Gonnos has rarely had unification of any real note. However, as the years went on, most Gonnesians have developed a tolerance for just about everything, and genuinely believe in the idea that everyone is their “neighbor.” It is not uncommon to refer to a complete stranger as “neighbor” on Gonnos, and one common saying is “no man on Gonnos is alone, he’s with a million other loners,” indicating the idea that Gonnesians do not really view anyone as an outsider.

However, their survival and methods depend primarily on cunning over force, and manipulation of the truth over exertion of real power. They prefer to con, talk and work around the universe rather than actually hold real, visible power. Gonnesian politics is as much about subterfuge and denying your actual power while wielding it—making negotiations with foreign powers a strange and infuriating process, as the messenger and the master are usually separate by multiple degrees.

Another odd notion of the culture of Gonnos is that there is a great deal of faiths. Due to the sheer plurality of force traditions and strange exchanges of lore—a good deal of it fake—there is always discussions of faith, the force, and power. Everyone on Gonnos has their own ideas on the force, on life, on love—and is more than happy to tell you about any of them over a drink. They rarely compete to prove themselves as right, however, as proselytizing someone who did not ask willingly is seen as rude.

Gonnos is also not a terribly honest planet. There is a great deal of money in false promises, and to tourists, those false promises are grand and powerful ones. Many a man has lost a fortune “treasure hunting” in Gonnos for lost treasures, hidden temples and fake artifacts. The university of Triminos is considered by some to be largest repository of poodoo in the galaxy, second only to whichever man first called economics a science. Because of this, “Gonner” has become an ethnic slur against natives of the planet akin to “con-man.”

Another interesting fact is that most Gonnesians make structures out of natural materials, primarily lumber, stone, and a small amount of native metal. Hide and mud tents are just as likely as any other structure, and caravans on Bantha Back are as common as hover-speeders. Many low-tech groups and religious sects are scattered around the world, and out of respect, if someone declines an advanced peace of technology, they simply politely say “you walk your own path, neighbor.”

The largest value of Gonnesians is freedom. Because of this, one can only eneter into slavery or servitude via contract, and no one can be born into slavery. Salver is only practiced in earnest in Sledge, and even then, it is only up to a term of seven years. Asking a slave to change his faith, or any ideals of his or her life, is considered a heinous act and is punishable.

Technology:
Unlike many other planets, Gonnos is far from uniformly advanced. The three major space ports and the areas surrounding them are fairly in tune with modern technology, but infrastructure varies wildly form city-state to city-state, and many of the more tourist-oriented cities stay “antiquated” for their own sake of keeping tourist numbers up—although they still all have credit reading machines.

As a rule, mining and farming technology is up to date, but droids aren’t terribly common, unless they are water-sealed to cope with the planets humidity and difficult weather.

One of the Unique products of this planet are "Dupe-crons," which have artificial personalities connected to heuristic droid brains and holo projectors to produce decent fascimiles of the real thing.

History:

The first Entry of Gonnos in Galactic history was in 7,000 BBY where historian and Geologist Begann Toph referred to it as a “quiet and uneventful world with no inhabitants to speak of.”

The next time it’s of note is in 5,647 BBY, when a group of heretical Sorcerors known as the Thulian Ascendants proceeded to migrate to the planet, fleeing the Jedi. They built the village that would eventually become the city of Trimonis.

The next large migration to the planet was that of a heretical group or aristocrats fleeing from the Unification Wars in 5008 BBY.

5000 BBY- A small sect of Ludo Kressh-following Sith land on the planet after fleeing naga Sadow’s wrath, form a cult in the mountains, founding the quarry. In 4830, a group of Kaminoan Ascetics land on the planet, forming a small fishing village near Trimonis.

4100 BBY-A segment of the Mecrosa order, fleeing the dark side corruption of their order, flees into the woods of Gonnos, forming the village that would become the lumber camp of Maluscare.

4050 BBY- A small sect of Aang-ti Monks starts a monastery on what is later name the Blue Moutain of Ravos. They are on fo the few factions to not permanently settle on the planet.

3987 BBY- The remnants of the followers of Krath flee to Gonnos, Declaring themselves new lords of the Quarry. The resulting war last for fifty years.

3942 BBY-A religious cult known as the Church of the Mechanized Lords flees from 400100500260026 after it’s liberation from a group of G0-T0 droids by Republic forces.

3873 BBY- A mass exodus of Revanites under the Sith Empire fled to Gonnos, formeing several city states, the largest of which would become Revan’s Redoubt. The Revanite acquired territory and attempted to build a “better, greater empire” to oppose Vitiate’s regime by conquering the entirety of the planet.

3860 BBY- The Aang-tii Monks leave the Planet, for reasons unknown.

3849 BBY- The Siege of Sledge begins, Between Dark Lord of Sledge Mercutio Valens and Revanite Cultist Arcturus (his true name is lost to history).

3848 BBY- Thisspiasian colonists crash their ship and build a large, sprawling city of stone walls and temples, called Fissarrin.

3742 BBY- The Scitroks lose 4,000 men during the Battle of Hacharin. The Revanite/Mechanical alliance crumbles after a Metalan Shaman manipulates a general from each faction into slaughtering each other in a blind rage over who is more worthy to conquer the sky-village. The Pilgrims route the Revanites, forcing them to retreat to the Redoubt and maintain neutrality for centuries.

3738 BBY- Seven children are born simultaneously to the Queen of the Thisspasian City of Fissarrinn. The first hatched among the seven is named Boluss, meaning “The First.”

3736 BBY- The Scitrok monks declare and armistice with Fissarrinn, agreeing to ally and become one nation. The leader of the Gonnesian Scitroks, Palakh, agrees to become a guardian and tutor to the royal family.

3712 BBY Boluss is crowned king of Fissarrinn, taking the full name Bolussari, meaning “The first and the last.” He and his six siblings, each known for force-sensitivity and warrior minds, begin campaigns to unite the continent.

3703 BBY-Bolussarri wins his last successful siege, claiming Revan’s redoubt. He is crowned king of the Planet, known as the “inevitable.” This begins the Serpent Dynasty. The Scitrok begin serving as secret police. He renames the capital Sssissaressi, the City of the Serpents.

3654 BBY-Bolussarri is strangled by a Twi’lek concubine, who manages to escape in the confusion. His four remaining siblings and his two sons all have a year-long dispute over succession, resolving in the crowning of Musssathilon the Shrewd.

3503 BBY-Thiistalion the Wise dies of natural causes, peacefully passing surrounded by family.

3488 BBY-Grand Vizier of Sledge Martos Corum kills Dark Lord of Sledge Odinarach. This results is the war of the Stone Throne.

3487 BBY-Martos Corum is overthrown by Pelio Rugan, who is killed by a Kaminoan Knwok only as “The Silent One,” which lead to subsequent reign of Meloskian the Mad. He executes over 5 thousand people annually.

1579 BBY-The Silent One is sentenced to Death. At his public execution, he speaks in a thin, raspy voice. His only statement for the record is as follows.
“As I speak, I break this vow. The lord of Sledge let me live, and now I must die. The true lord of the Stone Throne lies in the stone itself.”

875 BBY- A large group of spacers a pirates fight in neighboring space over a powerful super weapon, the Atmospheric Recombination Chemical Bomb. The bombs explodes harmlessly in space thanks to Jedi manipulation, but thousands of forces on both pirate and Republic sides end up in escape pods scattered around the sector. Many of the refugees of various species happily settle on Gonnos.

873 BBY- Swoke Swoke Pirate Zannos Zannos begins developing a smuggling route for fake artifacts, allowing crews to “dig up” artifacts with false connotations to various Force traditions on Hoth, Tattoine, and Onderon.

846 BBY- Zannos Zannos reveals every fake artifact he made in a tell-all holonovel released two weeks after his death. Multiple University are crippled by the Discovery, and Two separate Crime Lords are killed after academics post huge bounties on their heads.

845 BBY- Bando the Hutt Assumes control after six months of in-fighting after the assassination of the two largest sellers of fake artifacts on the planet, and begin making sure that around 20% of the artifacts leaving the planet are verified as genuine by credible archaeologists. The surprisingly well publicized “Rule of Two Tenths” allows for more daring archaeologists to keep gambling on Gonnos, although only the most nutty of the lot will try it.

620 BBY-The Republic petitions the people of Gonnos concerning trade agreements, and is able to make deals regarding the export of gem stones and exotic lumber as luxury goods to Core worlds. The Centrality soon follows.

500 BBY- A small segment of Sälãi Käsi warriors form a monastery north of the timber camps of Maluscare, making winde from the Pollen and training in old fighting forms.

50 BBY-Under covert stratagems, trade is restricted with the Republic, save for some planets from the trade federation. This is part of Sidious’ plan to attempt to gain Gonnos for the Confederacy.

27 BBY-A Morkugai cult arrives, attempting to take over Sledge. They fail, the leader is killed, and the remnants remain wandering in the Quarry.

23 BBY- Count Dooku secretly attempts to get Gonnos to sign a treaty with the trade federation and begin long-term planning of installation facilities. None of the city-state of Gonnos trust him.

20 BBY- Gonnesians largely ignore the Clone Wars, using pirates to handle shipping through both Confederate and Republic space. Neither side shows a strategic interest in lumber or gemstones, leaving them off the hook, but unable to acquire much money from either faction.

7 BBY- A small cabal from the Sorcerers of Tund arrive at Sledge, fleeing from the one known as Gepta, believing him to be plotting a betrayal against them. The sorcerers flee into the caverns, claiming “the spirit of a former master speaks.”

2 BBY-After the death of Gepta, the Sorcerers of Tund attempted to take over Sledge, as part of a plan to conquer all of Gonnos for their dark arts. Although they were able to over take Sledge, they were killed by a cadre of Assassins led by Gartha the Hutt, Bando’s second son. The First, Medda, died as the result of a feud with Jabba Desilijic Tiure. Only one Sorcerer Escaped.

7 ABY-Medda is killed, with a note left behind signed by “The Silent One.” Panic ensues.

15 ABY-Seventeen different Dark Lords of Sledge are Assassinated, all within a month of taking the throne. This is referred to by historians as the Year of Silence.

18 ABY-A Kaminoan is captured while attempting to strangle the Dark Lord of Sledge, Kannith Borsavio. He does not respond to torture or interrogation.

20 ABY-after torture, confinement and telepathic probing the unnamed assassin is brought forward for public execution. He speaks, in a raspy voice, as before. “I break my vow. The master of Sledge demands silence…” He then turned into dust.
(OOC: It is a contingent curse used by the entity guiding the Silent One, the ghost of the first Sorcerer of Tund to land on the planet, Mugarion. He currently reside in a stone body, and the curse is used to keep minions in check with Sith alchemy. He is the Lord of Stone. The curse is ancient Sorcery, similar to other dark arts practiced by the Srocerors of Tund. If someone were able to confront the Lord of Stone and convince said ghost that their council is worth receiving in ancient, unknown mystical curses, I want to read that.)

26 ABY-As the Yuuzhan Vong War Began, Gonnos had a new dark age, shunning the majority of the galaxy in order to be left to its own devices.

50 ABY- The new era begins as Gonnos try to establish trade with the new Republic. Things get along decently, although the new Republic does try to repeatedly infiltrate Sledge, with no real results showing up from their investigations.

145 ABY- Vong shapers find a deliberate methodology for bioengineering on Gonnos, using local Ithorian herb catalogues to help reproduce missing ecologies on ruined worlds.

163 ABY- A large Chevin Light-Sider cult following the teachings of Ephant Mon arrives and forms a community of ascetics named Zevala Ephont.

260-264 ABY- Another few “Years of Silence”, where no lee than fifty-seven Dark Lords are killed ritualistically after attempting to claim the Stone Throne. Finally, the title is given to Maklav Ruusan.

344 ABY- Gonnos begins shipping lumber to Coruscant regularly for the first time since the Separatist Crisis.

426 ABY- The Yuuzhan Vong again recruit various help with rebuilding planets, including the restoration of Ossus and Byss. A small enclave of Shapers is honored by the Sky-mother Anfor in Metala for “restoring the beauty of nature.”

430 ABY- The Gulag virus finally arrives on Gonnos. A third of the population dies over the decade. Gonnos shuts its borders for a long time, not taking people in or legally allowing people to leave.

465 ABY-Mysterious medical supplies start showing up, allowing strange resistance to crop up in ten percent of those using them. The substance resembles black Bacta. Msot crates containing it are labeled “Silence” in old Sith.

650 ABY-A cult appears in Gonnos, attempting ritual sacrifices and dark force powers to revert plague. It accomplishes nothing, and is quickly put down wherever it pops up.

689 ABY-Gonnos reopens its borders to travelers, building up tourism and shipping industry.

750 ABY-A note, scribbled in Kaminoan blood, appears on the back of the Stone throne of Sledge. It simply says “Sorry.”

830 ABY-Gonnos finally re-stabilizes its economy, and begins to redevelop it’s businesses, including the sale of false artifacts. Nogra the Hutt, current chief of the Auction houses, has discovered much of his predecessor’s old caches, and bills a large amount of it as “real genuine reproductions” from the centuries gone by. He’s making a small fortune in knick-knacks.

Notable PC's: None as of yet.

Intent: I thought it’d be a fun concept to have a planet that is basically the Lost Temple of Space. Jungle-filled, secretive, and so chock-full of stories you can write your own on it in a heartbeat.

I'd like some more info on this turning to dust and stone lord... it's a great history, but I'd just feel more comfortable knowing it couldn't be abused by another PC. Other then that the only thing I'd do is put your history into a spoiler perhaps so its easier to find other sections.

Ok this is what I need from you Vorhi stuff that last post into your original on the planet. Then put the entire history into a spoiler please, so its all easier to see and go through. As a side note the Alchemy needs a warning that it cannot be used on PCs without their permission, and put that with the information on the recipe, and Stone Lord rather then have it in a reply.... that is it really... a disclaimer and just organize a bit and I'll get Kara in here for stamping time! thanks for working with me on this man, look forward to rping on this world!
