Name Gillian Hounds [GL-023]
Designation Sentient
Origins Garden of Death, Eve - Scintilla
Average Lifespan Up to 750 Galactic Standard Years
Estimated Population Planetary (Scintilla)
Description
Excerpt from Experiment GL-023 Report

“Gillian Hounds are a genetically-modified Gurlanin Sith Spawn, created by order of the presiding Chaplain of the Silencers, Kyrinov Kyrinov , with the approval of Discordia. The “default” form of GL-023 is that of a short canine, roughly 28 centimeters in height and 11 kilograms in weight. This default form has medium length coat which contains a white underbelly pattern extending from the muzzle to the pads of the creature’s paws, tan ear and facial accents, and a black “top” coat, where top refers to the length spanning the from the face to the tail of the specimen.

Physical capability tests have shown that these canines are capable of incredible speeds despite having shortened legs. Their sense of hearing has been successfully transferred into perky, round ears atop their head to give the species an attractive consumer appeal. All specimens of GL-023 have exhibited the ability to communicate telepathically and have the ability to be domesticated as most of the predatory strains have been altered to allow for heightened intelligence, situational awareness, and spatial reasoning skills. The remaining predatory behaviors may be transformed into the instincts of a guard animal by a competent individual through training and quality time spent with GL-023... Experiment GL-023 is considered a success and may be safely distributed to appropriate stores around Eve for purchase. This is by authorization of the Chaplain and Discordia. ”

Breathes Type I - III
Average Height of Adults 26 centimeters - 2 meters
Average Length of Adults 56 centimeters - 5 meters

Distinctions

Gillian Hounds are small, stout, and furry dogs by default. The oddest feature you will find in the default form is that the dogs have maintained the orange eyes of natural Gurlanins. Their eyesight has been improved upon, allowing them to see in the dark. Operatives will often find their small size and night vision very helpful. They are meant to be versatile pets. With that goal in mind, Hounds are domestic animals and they may be trained to perform tricks and, most importantly, take the preferred form that the owner wishes for their adorable new pet to be.
They are equipped with thick skin to help them withstand colder temperatures that residents of a cooler climate may reside in, such as residents of the Kor Disc in H.O.P.E. This is a uniform feature and will be true regardless of the Hound’s preferred form.
Races No distinct races of this specimen have been created or otherwise documented
Force Sensitivity High

Shapeshifters | They can take many forms
Cuteness Overload | They’re heckin adorable
Puppy Dog Eyes | Very effective
In Your Mind | They can communicate telepathically

The Taint of the Dark | They give off a distinct presence in the Force given that they are Sith Spawn
Dark Side Manifestation | Vulnerable to Force Light
Force Suppression | Creatures/techniques such as Ysalmiri and Void Stones will render any learned Force techniques useless
Shapeshifter | Shifting forms requires an extreme amount of energy, though may be curbed some as they grow older and gain experience with the technique. It is recommended that Hounds are given proper nutrition and rest after shifting. Studies by the scientists in the Garden of Death have shown that shifts are limited to 3 in an average Scintillian day cycle, however this number can be increased with experience and age
Primal Instincts | Due to their inherent predatorial nature, Gillian Hounds may turn feral and extremely dangerous if they are not trained. The end result of this could mean a missing limb… or two
Strong With This One | Gillian Hounds are Force Sensitive and their abilities may be taught/trained into proficiency. They do not have any inherent powers other than
Telepathy and Force Sense.

Diet Omnivore

Sugar is not recommended
Glitter is not recommended as food
Communication Gillian Hounds have a natural knack for telepathy as they were engineered from the Gurlanin species, however they may also emit adorable animal noises akin to that of their trained preferred form.
Technology Level Unfortunately, Hounds do not use technology. They are animals, at the base level, and typically do not have opposable thumbs/appendages. However, the Sith Alchemists in the Garden of Death have reported several incidents where different forms of the Gillian Hound have managed to swipe on the screen of a datapad and accessing different feeds of information via “pressing” on a tab with their paws/feet-like appendages.
Religion/Beliefs They do not have a documented religion/belief system.
General Behavior

These pets are very social, they love meeting new people and other creatures.
They have very high energy and must be exercised regularly to stay happy and healthy.
They LOVE to eat, do not try to take their food.
These cute buggers demand attention most of the time. Receiving snuggles, pets, cuddles, and any form of treats are at the top of their priority list.
Hounds are protective of their owners and those that are close to them, don’t try sneaking up on their loved ones.

SATISFACTORY

/ / OPENING FILE

“Chaplain Kyrinov has requested the creation of a canine Sith Spawn in order to commemorate Ryloth and Siskeen. This request was cleared and authorized by Discordia herself at 0850 this morning. The blueprints specify the creation of a species that is a ‘cute furry canine that can shapeshift… bear in mind that these will be released to the civilian populace’. Work began immediately. The first ‘generation’ of GL-023 was a Shi’ido spawn. It proved to be a failure and the hybrid was discontinued. Research teams scoured the Species files within the Tower and Mik’dash ha’Sheketh's Zenith Library, with express permission from the Chaplain. 4 days later, the Gurlanin species was suggested due to the canine figure and mannerisms of the creature. Upon further research and verification, the gurlanin was proclaimed a suitable base species for the creation of GL-023. The only inhibition was the predatory nature and 1 in every 10 specimens created in the ‘second generation’ were very likely to become extremely aggressive and vicious. The predatory traits were not isolated properly in this generation and the third generation began. Weeks of adjustments and fine tuning attributed to the successful fourth, fifth, and sixth generations. Predatory strains were minimized to levels that may be tamed through proper training, rehabilitation, and positive social exposure and interaction. GL-023 was tested for capabilities and limits so that relevant information can be released to the public to ensure safety and responsibility in future pet owners.

...GL-023 has been classified as Safe and is cleared to be released to the public on the Scintilla in the coming days. Purchase requires only proof of residency in one of the Spheres in the Scintilla as refugees may also purchase them as pets, if they so desire. The first storefronts that will allow for purchase of GL-023 ‘Gillian Hound’ will be located in the Tech Town and Red Line District sectors of Eve. Further creation will be permitted if the demand is high enough to warrant the creation of the specimen. However, currently, there are a surplus of Gillian Hounds for the members of the Agents of Chaos and the people of the Scintilla.”
