Public Getting Blitzed

Kohlo Ryks

The Only Pilot You Need
Kohlo was not a big fan of the deep core. Something about the way the Galactic Alliance seemed to uphold itself as the bastion of righteousness rankled in the worst ways for the Togruta. No government was ever innocent, and the Galactic Alliance for all of its positive benefits still has a huge problem with corrupt politicians and the never-ending nightmare of bureaucratic gridlock. It beat being back on Druckenwell at least.

The pilot had taken up residence in the Twin Moon Cantina on Coruscant after the last job refused to pay. It was after that one that her disposition towards the Hutts had soured beyond repair. It had been two weeks since she took a flight, and in that time she spent most of it getting piss drunk on the opened tab. She told the owner that she could pay the tab when she left, but the truth of the matter was far more complicated than that. Kohlo had credits, sure, but they were tied up at the moment in ship repair.

The Togruta had come back after checking on her pride and joy. The Star Wing was a beautiful design, bulky, tough, and armed to the teeth. Kohlo was able to take on some pretty heavy duty jobs with a ship like that, and she had a personal stake in it considering she rebuilt the ship from the ground up with her own two hands. It was like a child to her. She walked across the cantina floor and sat at the end of the bar. The Wookiee bartender came over and handed her the usual Corellian ale she ordered as she asked, "Anybody come calling for a pilot Grak?"

<No luck little one.> he said. Kohlo had learned the Wookiee language while on Druckenwell, and learned that they were some of the most trustworthy folks out there. She appreciated his honesty so she knew she was going to rip her credits and pay the man for his hospitality. That would leave the mechanic on the bad end of a short changing but she had to get some up front money bad or things would look pretty grim for her prospects leaving Coruscant without someone having it out for her.
