OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

SETTING INFORMATION

  • Space Station Name: GenPals Conference Station

  • Station Model: GenPals Conference Station

  • Classification: Tourist Destination

  • Location: D’ian

  • Affiliation: Antigone L.L.C. | GenPals | Didact Defense Solutions.

  • Population: Moderately populated

  • Demographics: 90% of the permanent staff at the station is human or near human. 10% are more ‘exotic’ species hired specifically for certain tasks (Zeltrons to tend bar, Nautolans to give aquarium tours, Ithorian gardeners etc). The tourist population fluctuates and is not internally managed, seeing a broader split of species rotating through the station.

  • Accessibility: Very accessible to those with at least a moderate income. Located in the Corporate sector, at the junction of two hyperlanes, it is easy to access. Even without being ‘rich’ it is possible to day trip and vacation at the station, though there are ‘premium’ packages for wealthier guests.

  • Description: The GenPals Conference Station is far, far more than a business location. While it certainly has conference rooms, large arenas for business events and other things of the sort, it is not the primary purpose. It is an all inclusive luxury experience, created from the ground up with GenPals and their owners in mind. While one does not have to own a GenPal to visit and stay at the station, those who do will find premium content and discounts available to them. The station boasts the accommodations and luxuries of the highest quality cruise liners- rooms, suites, numerous restaurants, pools and spas, shops, bars and nightclubs, music venues, a casino, coffee nooks and more. It also offers unique experience oriented content that is available to both a casual day-tripper or as part of a variety of vacation packages. From holographic and interactive GenPals cartoons, character meet-ups, roaming GenPals and experienced trainers to offer ‘impromptu’ exhibitions, to ‘educational’ content such as the ‘Lab Showcase’ and guided tours of the habitat ring, there is something for everyone.

SECURITY
Low. This is a civilian station. Externally it has standard deflective shielding and no armaments or defensive fleet hangars. Internally, security is handled by Didact Defense Solutions, but at a civilian grade. Security guards are armed minimally and the focus is more on protecting the occasionally unruly guest from themselves than in waging war. The entire station is kept under surveillance however, so the occasional ruckus is easy and quickly pinpointed. Cybersecurity is overseen by Didact personnel and additionally bolstered by their Y1-Droid Brain and Y2-Crystalline Laticce. Cassandra purchased the station’s service droids out of house, choosing the unassuming and friendly looking SD-0F Pebbledrones to double as back up in the exceedingly unlikely (but not impossible) chance the station would ever be required to repel boarders.

POINTS OF INTEREST
Artificial Habitat Ring: The core concept of the original idea, this ring encircles the entire station. A delicate confection of glasteel, the ring is made up of a series of sustained artificial ‘Natural’ habitats, ranging from sculpted gardens to forest biomes, coastal shores to savannah grasslands. All are pleasant to walk through for most humanoid species (no extreme environments) and showcase a variety of species, cloned by GenPals (and only slightly modified) from all over the galaxy. A boardwalk winds invitingly through the entire ring and with regular entrances and exits it is easy to tailor the length of a guests ‘nature’ walk to individual desires and needs. Several times a day guided tours are offered where various guides give brief but colourful tours of the various biomes, where they are endemic to, and the delightful creatures that can be seen by the keen of eye (wink wink).

GenPals Park: Much like the Artificial Habitat Ring, the Park was part of the original vision for the station. It was created as a natural space specifically for GenPals owners visiting the station to bring their pets. While none owners are certainly welcome, the space is made for the dynamic duos that the company caters to. With open spaces to run and jump as well as slightly more rugged areas for the sturdier or more rustic, it is a space for owners to meet and chat, play with their beloved pets, and allow them to socialize with others. There are separate areas with a large middle zone for those with the less compatible offerings (Pocket Vornskr/Vornskrill and Salafranders, specifically) so no one needs to be left out but all GenPals can be kept safe and comfortable.

Lab Showcase:Where the magic happens.” These GenPals ‘labs’ are set up with the public eye in mind. While some minor work gets done there, it is primarily for show- no break throughs or serious science, only the growing of GenPals for sale on station (and even then, a small number). It is possible to go to the labs and use the computer system to create ‘custom’ GenPals that can then be picked up and taken home towards the ends of one’s vacation. Primarily cosmetic choices, customers can create their Griffin or SeaSnug (as an example) with just the right blend of colours, fur, or plumage for their particular aesthetic.

Hologram Playground: State-of-the-art holographic and solid-state hologram systems allow visitors to immerse themselves in their favorite GenPals cartoon scenes. Kids get to meet and interact with their beloved cartoon figures, and even participate in mini-stories where they get to choose their own adventure! Adults who may want the same can do so without judgement, or choose from a variety of virtual GenPals to interact with and see if they are a good fit. Special child friendly parties are often thrown here, featuring holographic versions of various GenPals characters that will dance and interact with your little one.

Nightlife: For the older crowd, there are various bars, nightclubs and a casino scattered around the decks. Some are themed, from the dark and swanky Halo Speakeasy (shown) to the more techno jazz Blue Comet casino, ending at the cozy and familiar Dany’s Tapcaf. Numerous restaurants are available at all hours, from open and varied cafeteria style dining for those on the go between events to sit down foodie paradises where a meal could last all evening from the first sip of wine to the last bite of chocolate.

The Aquarium: The defining feature of the GenPals Conference Station is the Aquarium. Actually a series of tanks running through the station, they showcase aquatic creatures from across the galaxy. The entire central wall the height of the station is made up of it, and most of the main thoroughfares one travels through on their way to this location or that event is bathed in the gentle light of the aquamarine waters. A small number of (expensive) suites also settle against the marine habitat, treating their guests to a constant view. The restaurant a the very base of the station, Oculus, offers a view as though from the sea floor, combining experience and fine dining.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The GenPals Conference station is a new station built to Cassandra Paige’s specifications by [member="Itash Mecetti"] of Didact Defense Solutions. The idea germinated slowly, over the span of months as GenPals grew in size and scope- a destination location, one part resort, one part showcase- until finally it was realized fully between the two and plans were set into motion. Built in the D’ian system for it’s centrality in the Corporate Sector right at the nexus of two trade focused hyperlanes, Cass chose the location both for the sheer traffic as well as the pleasant planet below, happy to take advantage of that particular slice of their tourist trade.
