General Information
Name: Gatani
Designation: Nonsentient
Origin: Lost to time from abundancy
Average Lifespan: 13 to 21 standard years
Estimated Population Abundance: Common
Description: Adorable little fuzzballs with eight legs, two cat eyes, and a furry carapace body. They come in many colors, markings, and fur lengths. They kinda look like a combination of a cat and a spider but cuter. (For reference and the sake of all of our sanity: they look more like Toothless from How to Train your Dragon and a tarantula but furry and shorter legs. Don't try to use midjourney, you'll just get nightmare fuel)

Breathes: Oxygen
Average Length of Adult: Dependant on the race of Gatani but generally 45cm

  • Weak
  • Soft Carapace
  • Skittish

Culture
Diet: Carnivore with some herbivore tendencies. Mostly small game and bugs
Communication: Body language and making adorable sounds
Technology level: None
Religion/Beliefs: Sentients are their servants who clean their litter boxes, feed them, and give them scritches.
General Behavior: Adorable, loving but only on their time, and skittish when stray or wild

Historical Information
No one was sure how the Gatanis became a common household pet. The knowledge of their rise to domestic pets was lost to time. Some believe the Rakata Empire had taken a cat and spider and combined them into a Gatani. While others believed they once had a home before the Rakata had found them as adorable pets and brought them across the galaxy. One thing is for certain: Old Rakata Facilities depict these adorable creatures as being gods or somewhere close to gods. You can find them everywhere, even in the most unexplored worlds. They come in different shapes and sizes, with domestic breeds being small and wild breeds being large with thousands of different colors and patterns.

Hi there - Nice to see you in the Codex. There are just a few things to go over here and we'll get you on your way.

1.) You can't remove any of the template fields, though, you can add as many fields as you like. [Codex Rules]
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: [ State why you are making this submission and what purpose it will fulfill in RP. ]
  • Image Credit: [ Provide credit to the original artist of the images in your submission. Link to the web page where it can be found and state the name of the original artist if possible. Each image used must be credited. Use TinyEye, Google Image Search, or the Image Credit FAQ to help.]
  • Canon: [ Is this a canon species? If yes, link to the original species wiki here, if no simply put N/A. ]
  • Permissions: [Please link any Marketplace purchase or similar approvals to use other Writers’ content as part of this submission.]
  • Links: [ Provide links to any relevant threads, characters, companies, locations, etc here. Canon or otherwise. Especially obscure references, or events important to the submission.]
You're missing several of these. If it doesn't apply to your character just mark it as "N/A" and you can move on.

2.) Image Credit: That actually doesn't link anywhere. You'll want to link where you found it. [Image Credit Help]

3.) Same issue as the top area. Some of the fields are missing or have been altered - They stay the same. You'll need to add them back in and just note "N/A" if it doesn't apply.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: [ Type of atmosphere or medium it breathes. ]
  • Average Height of Adults: [ In metric. ]
  • Average Length of Adults: [ In metric. If not applicable put N/A. ]
  • Skin color: [ Their commons skin colors. ]
  • Hair color: [ Their common hair colors, if any. ]
  • Distinctions: [ Describe the unique physical traits that define what they are and set them apart from more common species like humans. Be sure to include any differences between male and female, as well as variations between different regional groups if any, and characteristics that denote a matured or ageing specimen. ]
  • Races: [ Not subspecies, distinct cultural or physical races (aka, just like human races). ]
  • Force Sensitivity: [ Force Dead (members of this species are Force Dead with the bonuses and drawbacks inherent to that. Ex. Yuuzhan Vong.), Non-Sensitive (no members of the species are FS), Rare (very few members are FS. Ex. Hutts), Low (Some members are, but many are not), Standard (Some are, some are not, it is neither common nor uncommon), High (Many of its members are sensitive to the Force. Ex Humans, Twi’leks, etc), All (Every single member is born sensitive to the Force, but lack training. Ex. Neti, Vahla). For Force Dead and All Force Sensitive Species, see the Species Rules for guidelines before submitting. ]

4.) Same thing with beliefs...Should be "Religion/Beliefs"

Everything else is pretty solid. Especially, if you're new at this. Good job! - Once you fix up the template and link the image credit you'll be solid.

Tag me when you're ready.
