- Continuing the design concept from the previous engine system, the Garuda makes use of a miniaturized molecular furnace built into the system to produce a variety of fuel types for the drive to power the engine.
- Thermo-Converters were included into the design to both provide power to the modified molecular furnace and to keep the heat generated by the breakdown and recombination of molecules at safe levels for the engine and the crews of ships they are installed in.
