DESCRIPTION
In the mid-870s, Cotan Sar'andor Cotan Sar'andor led the first known expedition to Companion Cresh. The expedition's convoy discovered a dead Yuuzhan Vong worldship core drifting in a star cluster at the edge of Cresh. They explored the dead worldship and interacted with the last vestiges of life there. Suitable apertures were retrofitted with airlocks, allowing around five percent of the huge derelict to be pressurized with a human-standard atmosphere. Some expedition members, including Jend-Ro Quill Jend-Ro Quill , lingered in the dead worldship after the main expedition moved on. Several sought to help it find rest in various ways.

In the ensuing decades, the derelict became known as Gadma, Yuuzhan Vong for 'welcome.' Explorers and far traders made use of it as a waypoint and trading post. It acquired a relatively persistent population of a few dozen individuals at any given time, scattered across diverse portions of the structure. The vast internal spaces offered opportunities to install prefabricated shelters and fuel depots in privacy.

As of 900 ABY, around 20% of the internal volume is pressurized, and any number of independent interests have a small temporary or permanent presence on Gadma Station. Anyone who visits Companion Cresh from the main galaxy has probably fuelled up there, bought maps, tried some amphistaff gumbo (a local delicacy), and taken on experienced and/or desperate crew.
