In the mid-870s,

In the ensuing decades, the derelict became known as Gadma, Yuuzhan Vong for 'welcome.' Explorers and far traders made use of it as a waypoint and trading post. It acquired a relatively persistent population of a few dozen individuals at any given time, scattered across diverse portions of the structure. The vast internal spaces offered opportunities to install prefabricated shelters and fuel depots in privacy.
As of 900 ABY, around 20% of the internal volume is pressurized, and any number of independent interests have a small temporary or permanent presence on Gadma Station. Anyone who visits Companion Cresh from the main galaxy has probably fuelled up there, bought maps, tried some amphistaff gumbo (a local delicacy), and taken on experienced and/or desperate crew.
