STRENGTHS
  • Heavy Armaments - Each GADF Cheunh-class was designed with a heavier armament than its predecessors. This increase in weapon systems and ordnance also allows the craft to fill in the role of a Light Bomber as needed.
  • Increased Maneuverability - Though lacking in speed, the Cheunh-class was designed to retain and in many cases increase its overall maneuverability.
WEAKNESSES
  • Low Squadron Sizes - The GADF Cheunh-class is nearly double in size of its predecessors. This increase in size has resulted in a decrease in the number of these craft that can be and are deployed in Squadrons aboard those Capital Ships capable of carrying Squadrons of Starfighters.
  • Minimum Speed - An increase in both armaments and defensive capabilities has resulted in a speed that is on par or less than that seen in predecessor Clawcraft designs.
DESCRIPTION
The Nssis-class Clawcraft represented the ingenuity of the Chiss and served as a blending of technology between the Chiss Ascendancy and the Galactic Empire and it is that craft that is the predecessor of the GADF Cheunh variant that has begun to see deployment within the Galactic Alliance. Maintaining the ubiquitous "ball cockpit" of its predecessor and the TIE Line of Starfighters, the Cheunh-class is nearly twice the size of its predecessor owing to a design focused on increased armament and heavier defensive capabilities. However, this larger design has resulted in taking additional room in a Capital Ship's hangar, which has in turn reduced the standard size of a Squadron of these craft when they are deployed.

Additionally, the Cheunh-class is noted as having an average rate of speed that is often on par or less than similar ratings in predecessor designs. Where the GADF variant shines is in its overall increased maneuverability which can often mean the difference between the pilot surviving or losing their life in an engagement. The increase of the Cheunh-class can also be pointed toward its heavier armament capacity and the capability to act as a Light Bomber due to these heavier ordnances that it can carry.

Following the destruction of the Chiss Homeworld and the Galactic Alliance moving into that region of space seemed to be the crux that resulted in the development of new warships that have begun to slowly step out of the shadows of the Unknown Regions. The GADF Cheunh-class provides a firm step forward in Clawcraft design, having produced a craft that is as tough as a Superiority Starfighter and just as capable as a Light Bomber when it comes to engaging an enemy target or position. Its increased size and capability to carry heavier armaments and ordnance more than makes up for its lower squadron sizes and its stagnated speed.
