I’ll be the first to admit that I can be a bit of a twip. However there is a purpose for it, so people like you, outsiders, will hate me and not my people. That being said, what I didn’t appreciate was the pomp and circumstance for something that could have been done over comms. He was still working, but his attention was on her, what she had said, and how he would diplomatically craft his response.
Wow! This man had some selfe-perception after all. He was very good at trying ones patience, though! She didn't know if this captain deliberately did that because she was a woman or what not. Much of it reminiced about the first time her and

met. He had been a real pain in the first place, but once when they got a couple of things straightened out and got to know each other, they had actually got along quite nicely. Still, this captail Halpern really succeded in trying her patience far beyond that and in another way. Red knew a lot about here even before they met and had already established a point about her. Captain Halpern probably didn't knew her name. The Alliance was a big workingplace, and its Navy and Starfighter Corps were huge.
''Been done over the comms?!'' she finally snapped and for a moment went into that actually rarely used superior officer mode. Astonished by the mans ignorance, she took a few swift and firm steps closer to him and looked him up and straight into the eyes. Now they were merely inches from eachother.
''Weird? You think it's weird that we deemed this conversation more fit to a personal meeting than just sending you a message?'' she stated firmly and have just about had enough with him, her gaze staying sharp.
''Kark!'' she broke protocol and looked away for a moment when she realized that she might have gone a bit far, well, not entirely without his help.
''Don't you think I see exactly what you're doing here? For your crew? I'd do the same in your position, a houndred times over! But would it be too much to ask that you JUST. LISTEN. FOR. ONCE.'' she tried to tell him in a more calm and collected manner and took a deep breath, her shoulders relaxing again and she took a step back.
''You really know how to test ones patience, captain...'' Kathryn said in a calmer, quieter tone.
''You know how many able officers The Alliance have? And we come to you? That doesn't ring any bells? We want the best? Well, we could skip the most grumpy ones, but I don't have anything to say about it... so...'' she added. She knew that her little outrage would break it or make it, but a little respect wouldn't be too much to ask for, right?
