Strengths:
  • Jack of All Trades: Meeting beating the average on most fronts, the Striker is built to be a reliable, versatile, and relatively simple to operate starfighter.
  • Safety First: With an ejection seat and above average defence and mobility, the Striker is an good choice for those seeking to minimise pilot fatalities.
Weaknesses:
  • Master of None: Unlike many VCH products, the Striker is in no way specialised, making it neither as mobile as an interceptor nor as heavily armed as a bomber.
  • No Hyperdrive: Without a Hyperdrive, the Striker is forced to rely on a carrier to get to and from the battle
  • Arcane Design: With the inclusion of masers, coupled with a general willingness to force the technical to fit the aesthetic, the Striker is a technician's nightmare, requiring substantially more complex, delicate, and time-consuming maintenance than contemporary Starfighters when the reliable vessel does break down. Repairing one of these without a skilled technician in a up-to-date facility is a lesson in futility.
Description:
The first vessel in Vandiir Consolidated Holdings' "Firebird Series", the Striker is meant to serve as a standardised Starfighter, to be complemented by more specialised variants to come. While decently armed, the focus was on creating a versatile starfighter that could stay in the fight longer than it's competitors. As a throwback to VCH's comfortable shuttles, the cockpit is unusually comfortable for a mass-produced starfighter, up to and including an ejection seat with oddly plush upholstery.

Armed with masers developed with the assistance of APEX Technologies, the Striker is intended to be as versatile as possible, with the masers and variable warhead launchers intended to catch an opponent off guard. Despite this, the Striker is still a rather genetic fighter, with nothing else to make it truly stick out, especially as VCH starts rolling out more maser-armed vessels. This is not, however, necessarily a flaw of the design, as it is not meant to be specialised, instead working decently well wherever one might put them into action, including atmospheric flight, though, as with so many other things, it is not specialised for this either.

The ship's slightly overpowered, please either lower a rating or add a weakness.

Added a weakness and a strength, the strength being solely for aesthetic reasons as it references nothing that wasn't already explicitly stated in the technical specifications.

For clarification: Was dropping the Hyperdrive to raise two other specifications by one correct as a baseline? I'm asking because if my baseline math is wrong, then I'll have to correct that for future submissions.

Indeed, the hyperdrive itself counts as a rating, although not as much as the others would.
