Setting Information:

Structure Name: Frosthold Tomb (Csyrr'atum in Cheunh)
Classification: Former mining complex, current laboratory and workshop for Nateo
Location: Csilla (northern region)
Affiliation: Ayan’ate’ouco (Nateo) (current owner), Clan Ayan'Ouco (former)
Accessibility: Frosthold Tomb is located in an exceptionally isolated area of Csilla's northern region. While not hidden per se, it is so far away from the nearest major settlement that it might as well be. It can be traversed with reasonable ease by using an air or spacecraft. By ground, it is nearly impossible to approach from any of the nearest settlements.
Description: Frosthold Tomb is built into the side of a large glacial cliff. It was created by miners from the Chiss Clan Ayan'Ouco around the year 312 ABY and served for more than a century as the clan's foremost mining industrial complex. The structure is quite massive and served the functions of both mine and a settlement for the miners and their families. Following the Gulag outbreak in the 400's ABY, clan Ayan'Ouco was almost entirely destroyed and the facility was abandoned. A few decades later, the last known survivor of the Clan, Ayan'ate'ouco, returned to Csilla and claimed his family's ancestral home. At the time, it was far too remote for the warring families of the floundering Ascendancy to bother objecting. Frosthold Tomb would become the site where Nateo would rest, in stasis, for centuries while the Gulag plague burned itself out. Prior to, and after, his time in stasis, Nateo has re purposed much of equipment and space inside of the Tomb creating a laboratory and workshop, as well as a full medical bay. As part of the old settlement, there are dozens of empty living spaces. Below the Tomb, the remains of the Chiss mining operation can be found-but much of the equipment is in need of repair and many of the mine shafts are unstable after so many years without use.

Points of Interest:

Laboratory: Originally a large scale scientific research facility dedicated to developing new techniques for mining gems and other ore, the laboratory section of Frosthold Tomb is massive. It includes numerous sub-sections, dozens of work stations and a variety of differing scientific technology. The Laboratory wing is located toward the center of the mining complex in the main structure.

Workshop: Located in the main structure along with the laboratory and infirmary, the workshop was where the mining equipment was built and maintained. The large workshop has the ability to perform a variety of functions including constructing and/or repairing new equipment such as mining diggers and small air/space craft, manufacturing parts for said equipment and a variety of other specialized tasks. For large scale operations, several bays with robotic arms are available. For more delicate work, several smaller work areas are available-each boasting a large array of tools and equipment.

Infirmary: The Infirmary wing is located below the Laboratory section of the settlement. Fully automated, it is staffed by ancient but serviceable medical droids and has the facilities to conduct extensive surgery and other medical procedures. Since at the time of its abandonment, the settlement was fighting an outbreak of Gulag plague, very little remains of the settlement's once impressive supply of medicines.

Living Quarters: Peppered throughout the ancient mining complex are dozens of family sized living quarters similar to this. Sizes and amenities would differ based on the status of the families who lived there, but all came with several beds, a sitting and living area with holonet access, a family sized refresher and a kitchenette with protein re sequencer. Luxury quarters could possibly include a VR/AR recreation area, additional rooms, full running water bathing areas and the like.

Old Mining Settlement: An ancient mining industrial complex that once housed dozens of families, this complex is rather large. Built into the wall of a glacier for protection, the settlement sits over an inactive volcano. It is powered using geothermal technology, which taps into the crust of the planet. The main structure includes the Laboratory, Workshop and Infirmary areas, as well as generic administrative offices and the like. Smaller substructures were used to contain living quarters and as storage. A small hangar is also located on site for transport of materials to and from the settlement.

Abandoned Mine: The mine shafts form an intricate labyrinth below the settlement, extending for miles in all directions. Veins with various precious metals could be found in this area, including several types of volcanic glass that could be used in a variety of industrial purposes. Many of the shafts have caved in over the centuries, while others remain open. In many places, pieces of centuries old equipment remain where they were left by the former inhabitants.

Security: Low
Located on the frozen tundra of Csilla several hundreds of kilometers from the nearest major settlement, security at Frosthold Tomb was never much of a concern. Occasionally a tundra predator of some type might wander into one of the mine shafts and cause problems, but that was easily handled by the miners. As such, the only real security measures that Frosthold Tomb has beyond simple biometric locks are a series of CCTV cameras located throughout the settlement, with monitors found in the main security office in the main structure. A small armory also exists in the main structure, holding a few dozen antique blaster rifles, pistols and stun batons.

Historical Information:
Frosthold Tomb, formerly known as Frosthold Mine, was created in the early 300's ABY by a group of miners belonging to Clan Ayan'Ouco-one of the premier mining clans in the Ascendancy at the time. Situated in the side of a glacier, the industrial mining complex sat over top of several large veins of precious metals and gems. Over a century of operation, the settlement became home to dozens of families. In 424 ABY, the Gulag plague struck Csilla. Starting in the Capital and moving like wildfire through the Chiss population, it was brought to Frosthold on a resupply transport. Within a few months all the residents of the mine were dead-with the exception of Ayan'ate'ouco. When he left Csilla in search of a cure, the settlement was truly abandoned and would be for nearly two decades until Ayan'ate'ouco would return and seal himself away in stasis for the next several decades. Today, Frosthold Tomb serves as Ayan'ate'ouco's workshop and laboratory as well as his personal residence when on Csilla.
