From Kushibah to Coroscant [PM For Invite]

@Corvetta Salvo
The trade center and starport was slow and not much traffic was flowing through the building structure. There was only few staff as the planet did not get much visits. Though the staff was off-worlders, they was very few. Droids would take positions of ticket tellers and maintenance workers. the only people required, was those needed to maintain the maintenance droids.
Cleaning drones worked slowly due to the lack of visitors. This was the normal day of Kushibah. The port itself was on the surface of the planet, and had villages to the north east south and west, but not close by. It was the only metal super-struction within miles and miles on the planet.

Corvetta had visited all sorts of strange places on her travels, but she had never hit the end of the Spur at Kushibah before. This might be one of the oddest locales in the known galaxy.

Her captain was involved in some sort of luxury trading with the silk weaves produced by the natives, but this was his first time out here and he wanted an expert navigator to keep him on course. It was a bit amusing to the flygirl, but she could find the way. Her job wasn't too critical with his navsystem anyway. But it involved money and smelled of adventure.

Or it smelled of nature and rabbit-like aliens. She chuckled at the furry little guys as they distributed their wares around the shabby spaceport. She wondered if any of them had ever been offworld. Leaning against a flimsy support column, Corvetta observed the interesting creatures and wondered what they thought of her.

As it would seem that the creatures spoke their native tongue, which seemed to dominate a series of purrs and churrs with their words. They didn't seem to be all to interested in the arrivals and was willing to sell their wares to the purchasers.

As it happened, there, stood amoung them was a red-rabbit like creature looking at a human who seemed to be more distant from the crew. His name was Tekkio, the Kushiban. His ears was perked, instantly he could tell from how the travelers was reacting to the Kushibans, they have never seen this planet before. He stands up on two legs and walks towards her. Within a few meters, he greets her in Galactic Basic.
"Hello. Is this your first time visiting Kushibah?" He asks, even though he expected the answer. He looks up at her smiling.

The navigator was a bit surprised when one of the fluffy little things approached her and spoke to her--in Basic. She stood up straight and uncrossed her arms, not sure how to appropriately react. She decided to crouch a little so the thing--was it male or female?--did not have to break its neck to make eye contact. She bit her lip, resisting the urge to pet the guy.

"Hey there," she greeted with her own smile, feeling slightly silly. "You got that right, li'l fella. Never been here before.

"What's your name?" She winced at how lame that sounded. She did not mean to treat it like a child or pet.

It was becoming rather amusing listening to her speak. Holding back all laughter and squeaky chuckles, the Kushiban kept his posture of politeness, knowing she probably meant well. He saw her non-verbal reactions. Most of her intentions was unknown to him, all he could tell was that she was unsure, yet polite.

"My name is Tekkio. Welcome to Kushibah. What's your name?" He asked. His tail slightly swayed with his words. His ears bobbed a bit, mostly from speaking while looking up.

[member="Corvetta Salvo"]

"Thanks for the welcome," she replied, "I don't usually get those where I frequent." She smirked, not sure if she had ever been graciously welcomed to any planet before.

"My name's Corvetta. Nice to meet you, Tekkio." She still was a bit hesitant. She almost asked outright what gender the foxy rabbit thing was, but decided to let that go. They probably would not be talking too long once he figured out she was not actually a merchant.

"Nice to meet you too." He said. His smile kept up and his ears remained perked, showing his interest as well as his politeness the best he could. His intentions was far from mercantile business, he seemed to reason that she was not with the crew for a reason. He had to find a way to get her to speak.

"So, what brings you here? Are you interested in buying the cloth?" He asks, more of a starter question.

[member="Corvetta Salvo"]

"Me? Oh, no," she answered, now expecting the creature to walk away as he realized she had no commercial interest in Kushibah. "Sorry. I'm just a pilot. I'm here to make sure Mister... Smiley over there doesn't make any wrong turns when we truck outta here." She winked and nodded towards her captain.

The trader seemed to be really ecstatic to be here on this mission, conversing with the Kushibans in a much friendlier manner than the rest of the few foreign agents here. Corvetta had deduced that he was new to this business when she had first boarded his trade vessel. The Pinooran Spur was not exactly a prime route for the veteran merchants, not being very lucrative and having almost no civilian hotspots along the way.

Not wanting to sound indifferent, she took a brief look at the sky and commented, "The weather here is nice, though."

Tekkio nodded. "The weather is nice now, but wait a while and it'll change." He says. The Kushiban looked over at the merry trader. He chuckles and then looks back at Corvetta. "A pilot. Usually they remain on the ship. May I ask why you became a pilot?" His voice has switched to more inquiry now. His ears had only relaxed a bit, and his tail had stopped swaying.

The other Kushibans seemed to be almost finished and happy to have the customer purchase so many of their products, which took many hours to make anyway. The deal they offered was rather modest and affordable.

The flygirl smiled and shrugged. "I guess I didn't have too much of a choice. My parents ran a freighter and I just kind of ended up learning all the stuff they did." She cocked her head and brushed back some stray hair. "But I wouldn't have it any other way. When you're up there..." She paused, browsing her vocabulary for the right word. "It's very serene. And it's full of adventure, I'll tell you that much, little buddy."

Corvetta decided to dispense with 'dignity' and sat down by the red one, cross-legged. She nodded towards the sky. "Ever been up there?"

[member="Tekkio"]

Tekkio tilts his head, listening, taking in her words. When she had asked him he paused for a moment and then answered. "No. I've lived on Kushibah my life. I always wanted to see beyond my world though. With few travelers and few opportunities, I am sad to say I haven't." He drops his wears, letting them fall to his sides, at the same time, his fur changes to a deeper, daker red. "It has always been my dream to see the stars..." He gives a long sigh, looking down.

Corvetta bit her lip, unsure how to respond. The life she lived every day was a bit of a luxury for folks like Tekkio, though she did work hard for her living. She could not believe it, but she was considering smuggling fox-rabbit guy on board the ship and seeing how far they could get before her captain found out. It did sound like a unique tale she could brag about to her fellow spacers.

"Say, ya got any family?" she asked nonchalantly.

[member=Tekkio]

Tekkio's eyes look to the right, giving the impression he is thinking. Indeed he was, more of a response that would further ensure a way to get off this planet. After a few moments he replies. "Yes, like most people do. But they're far away and I hardly even talk to them."

He looks at the ship and says; "My family never owned a ship. Every time a ship lands, I keep wondering what its like to fly it." He looked back at the spacer, only with a look of awe. "I must say, you're very lucky to fly in space to other worlds. Can you relate a small story of one of your adventures?"

[member="Corvetta Salvo"]

Corvetta never thought of herself as much of a storyteller, but he asked for it...

"One time we were dragging tibanna. The prime producers of that are located on Bespin, which hangs along the Ison." She halted in speech, considering that an outerworld alien probably did not understand half her terminology. "Anyway... We're talking about a gas giant. Bespin's huge, and there's no solid surface to it. It's crazy to think about, but people actually live there."

The girl half-smiled, hoping she was holding the Kushiban's attention. "I was about thirteen. Never been there before. When we dropped space and got through the clouds, I could not believe what I was seeing. They have cities--cities--that float in the sky. And the sky itself is just amazing. It gets really freaky there sometimes, but the weather was frakkin' snazzy while we were in port.

"I won't say that you'll never see anything like it. There's lots of insane things you'll see when you spend your entire life spacing. But that was a moment when I knew I had something special. A bazillion people will never see the things I've seen."

[member="Tekkio"]

Indeed he listened to the story-teller. Tekkio's attention reflected that of a listener of a very well seasoned story teller. Though, his attention was more drawn mainly due to the fact that Corvetta was a spacer, and he wanted to be like her.

When she was finished, he had decided to reveal the truth behind his questions and words. "I really wish I could see what you have seen. The galaxy has many worlds, and I would love to know how a city floats. I want to leave this planet, and go somewhere, anywhere. Is there anything I can do to get you to help me? Name it, and I'll do so." He looks up at her with rather pleading eyes, his ears are somewhat dropping. Thanks to his race's ability to chance eye color, his eyes reflect rather large pupils.

Corvetta chuckled. "Settle down there, buddy. I don't need you to do anything for me." She paused, then smiled playfully. "...Unless you've got a YT-2400 hidden in that ear of yours.

"But really..." she continued, looking around, "How old are you? Like, are you a grown-up here? Because I'm not going to promote this if you're trying to run away from your parents or anything." She cocked her head and twisted her lip, anticipating a childish explanation.

[member="Tekkio"]

Tekkio crosses his arms with indignation, feeling somewhat insulted. "I'll have you know that I am an adult. Have been for a long time now." He pauses to blink, and then chuckles. "That is to say, I appreciate you thinking I am young, but I am not. Not to my race." Tekkio said. Indeed he was telling the truth. Kushibans was considered adults at the age of 13 years.

And while the two continued their conversation, which had a more relaxed style to their talking to each other, the other kushibans seemed to have struck a deal with the captain and was getting paid right then and there.

The pilot bit her lip, realizing she had sort of thrown manners out the window for a moment. Still, it was an important question. Glancing at the merchant as he completed his transaction, she decided to ask for two more bits of information before she tried anything. Standing up to her full height, the girl placed her arms on her hips and appraised the furry alien. "I've gotta know, are you really prepared for this? Because it's a big commitment. There's no turning back, and I honestly don't know if you'll ever see your home again.

"Also, what do you eat? 'Cause I don't know what..." She failed to finish her sentence, forgetting how she was going to word it in the first place. She capped the fragment with a slightly awkward bobbing gesture of her hands.

[member="Tekkio"]

There was a uncomfortable silence, and Tekkio let it emanate between the two. He wasn't sure if she was going to finish or had stopped. He shook his head, snapping his train of thought, before answering. "Yes I am prepared. I wouldn't be asking if I wasn't. I've thought about this for a long time now. I am sure of the consequences and rewards. As for my food, well. I eat mainly fruits and vegetables. I prefer to eat them during the ripest of seasons."

His words was obviously well thought of before, as if he had planned the response, save for revealing his diet. He looked up at her with a serious look. His tail only swayed slightly.
