From Kushibah to Coroscant [PM For Invite]

"Hmm," Corvetta mused, flitting her eyes back and forth between Tekkio and her boss as he neared their freighter. "We don't have much in the fresh produce department. Most of our rations are freeze-dried or... freezed."

She bit at a fingernail and held her hand in position near her mouth to hide its movement. "But if ya wanna dust out, I suggest you crank up the ramp and track for my room. It's down left after you enter. Should be a door to the portside just before ya hit the hatch to the engine room." The girl twitched her lowered hand in a scooping motion, signalling for the little red one to make a run for the gangplank.

"Uh, ok!" He said in a excited squeak, and then took off running. No other Kushiban saw him as they was walking away satisfied with their deal. Tekkio jumped for the ramp and ran into the ship, being careful not to be spotted.

He re-played Corvetta's words in his head as he went about. He had no idea what 'Portside' even meant. He looked around for some way to identify the room.

Corvetta had no idea why she was doing this. It was an insane idea--though she had already compiled a mental list of 'benefits' they would have with the Kushiban aboard. For now, at least, her captain would be unaware. She rushed up to the foot of the ramp just ahead of her boss and clopped up the metal board.

Peeking down the corridor as she passed by en route to the cockpit, she saw the confused alien searching for her room. She hissed to get his attention, gesturing tersely to her right. Hearing the merchant's feet hit the gangplank, the pilot panicked and ran for her seat at the controls.

The scuff of the trader's boots halted momentarily upon entrance of the ship. Corvetta gritted her teeth and began flicking switches, hoping Tekkio had found his way in time.

It was confusing. All his time reading about ship designs, interior, exterior of ships, basic ship components, and various ship styles, he couldn't find one room. He blinked as he felt a little embarrassed at himself. He continues walking down the hall.

He heard a hiss like noise and turned quickly, only to see the small gesture of the Pilot. With a tilt of his head he looked to left, which was her right. He aw the room and opened it to walk inside. Once in, he sniffed about instantly for a place to hide.

It took about twenty minutes to lift off, clear the atmosphere, and set for a safe hyperspace plot. They were now officially en route to Coruscant.

Her employer had become extremely 'exhausted' from all his hard work purchasing textiles from the furry aliens and retired to his quarters shortly after they had made the jump. Corvetta took advantage of the opportunity to check on the 'guest'. She strode down the corridor and into her room, hoping she would not discover that she had made the worst mistake of her career.

When she did not see him, she panicked. Nervously, she called for the little one as she scanned the room and peeked out into the hallway. "Hey, Tekk. I forgot to ask... Do you shed?"

Tekkio was curled up in the corner. His fur was no longer red, his eyes was also different. He froze in complete movement as the door opened. Corvetta could not see him, because his fur was changed to a color that was consistent with the floor and wall. His eyes was squinted, covering the iris. He was almost invisible. But once he saw the pilot. He smiled and relaxed, stretching out.

She turned to look out the hallway, making him tilt his head. Was he not noticeable since he moved? He looked down at his fur. In a few minutes, it flushed back to red. He walks up just as she asked the question. With a quizzical look at her back, he responds; "Yeah, but usually I brush the loos fur out."

The pilot pursed her lips. "Might have to do something about that, bud," she stated matter-of-factly. "Don't want the bossman seeing red all over the panels. I'll get ya a bucket or something soon.

"Otherwise... I guess you can make yourself comfy and stuff." She frowned, looking about the room as she appeared deep in thought for a few seconds. "Normally I wouldn't let any guy--you're a guy, right?--just hang around my quarters, but I guess you're not gonna do much. Besides, I don't sleep much at all.

"Anyway... Ya wanna go see what it's like in the cockpit?" She smiled and sauntered out into the corridor.

Tekkio laughed, his ears flopping a bit from his form shaking. "You're right. I am a male. Why does it matter though?" He asks.

Once she asked him the question, he tilted his head again putting on a quizzical look. "Wouldn't I get caught If I left the room?"

She shrugged at him, not really concerned with explaining to the alien. "I guess it doesn't really matter. I'm probably too bald for ya, yeah?" She giggled at her own humor.

"And you won't get caught--not if we make sure to keep it quiet and slick. I'll show you around the birdcage and let you see hyperspace for the first time. Pretty frakkin' snazzy, you think?" She continued to stroll up the channel and to the flight cabin, not even bothering to look behind her and check if Tekkio was following.

Tekkio scratched the back of his head. "Bald?" He thought to himself. It would have seemed that he doesn't quite understand her humor.

After a pause he ran after her on all fours. Once he caught up, he switched back to a bi-ped style walk. He looked around curiously as they entered the cockpit, where he stood stock still in amazement. His mouth was slightly gapped.

"Told you it was frakkin' cool," she commented with a bright smile, noticing the awestruck gaze of the Kushiban. The girl spun around in the pilot's chair. "This is my job. And pretty much my home."

Kicking her feet up onto the control panel, she took a moment to watch the blue blurs of distorted light whirl around them. It was a sight she often took for granted, but it was beautiful to behold every time. "...Guess it's gonna be your home for a few ticks as well. Whatcha think about that?"

He nods and enters, not wanting to touch, yet at the same time, wishing he could do the piloting. "I... This is amazing. I wouldn't mind living in space for a few while." His tail flicks, fur wanting to change color from his emotion from red to blue, making him look more purple from the excitement. His control keeps it at a red hue.

Tekkio hops on a chair and stares at the controls, curious as to what they do.

"Yeah, it's kinda cazh, if ya know what I mean."

Corvetta sniffed a light chortle as she observed Tekkio's color alteration, entertaining the thought of how odd she might look if her hair did snazzy things like that. She did wonder, with all their color changing--how did they know who was who? She also giggled as she wondered if he could identify her if she changed clothes.

Startled by the pinging of an alert signal, Corvetta arose from her seat and scanned the emergency dialogs. "Woah there, buddy. What did ya push?"

His paw was only inches from a control button. "I didn't do anything!" He said hastily and truthfully as he pulled back his hand paw. He looked around for the noise and looks at Corvetta. "What's that noise?" He asks.

Tekkio jumps off the seat and runs over to when Corvetta is. He looks rather panicked more than calm.

"Chill down, hopper," Corvetta consoled, carelessly, "It's not you."

The pilot grimaced, reading through the dialogs and analyzing the full systems report. "Frakkit. Looks like core decay in the hyper. Guess our captain here isn't just fresh at merchandise..." She tapped her fingers in an agitated manner on the control panel as she stared blankly through the cockpit window at the vortex of distorted light, contemplating her options. "Hate to do this, but I've got to drop us outta hyper at Junction. Might be best for you to go invisible mode again, little buddy. Mister Business might get a little cranky if he gets a vizh on you." She shrugged and simpered at the Kushiban, hoping this bump in the road would not throw their plan off.

Tekkio looked around nervously. He hadn't thought something like this would happen. Although he was relieved that ship wasn't going to explode, he did hate hearing about the decay. Truth was, he knew a little bit about what causes it, but not enough to be a mechanic. Just his little knowledge, though, made him want to at least attempt to fix the problem.

"Junction? How far away is that from Coroscant?" He asked. He then focused his gaze at the door ready to dive behind the nearest consol the moment the door opened.

"It's... a way a-ways..." she mumbled in response, agitated by this mechanical hiccup. "Got the whole Hydian to drift from here."

Pushing against a heavy control lever, Corvetta prompted the spaceship to exit hyperspace. The vessel buckled as it reentered realspace and the sublight thrusters initiated. "Okay, buddy, I think you need to head back to my room. I think I have a date with Cranky in a sec here." The pilot smirked at Tekkio, though now she was wondering if she was going to regret facilitating a stowaway...

He took off running on all fours. Not much responding. His ears bobbed and his tail swayed with his run. All-the-while he was wondering if he should just look at the hyperdrive. He was curious what it looked like, but what if he could fix it?

He ran into Corvetta's bedroom and put his ears to the flooring to find out if he could hear the steps of the other crew, which he only faintly heard.

Corvetta had gotten into a heated debate with the merchant captain over whose fault it was that the hyperdrive core was not up to snuff. Of course, being the employee, it ended up being her fault and she would have to have it fixed or she would be kicked off the ride at Junction--and only paid her upfront fee.

Cursing under her breath, she entered her room and fetched her toolpack, loaded with spanners, gauges, and a blowtorch. As she slung the pack over her shoulder and made way for the door, she stalled and scanned her quarters. "Hey... Tekk? Wanna see the belly of the beast?"

[member="Tekkio"]

"Yeah!" Tekkio responded happily and excitedly. His form came from corvetta's bed. He was near the pillow curled up just underneath it. His fur had melded into the covers for a near perfect camoflauge. He bounced off the bed as his fur started to turn back to red. Once he ran up to her, he paused. "That... is to say, I would like to." He said with a silly grin.

He followed her, but still cautious. His ears pointed up, perked and constantly shifted back and forth. As he walked on all fours, they slightly bobbed. His tail swayed eagerly.
