Fragile

As the little girl's name was mentioned, Strask's face fell. He understood why, but that didn't mean he liked it. Kidnapping was the way of thugs, simplistic and just brutal. If you could get to the target. But he needed to be ready. Mentally going over the reserves that he had, the Bothan spoke. "Consiter all my resources to be devoted to your child's protection." He sighed, muttering to himself, barely audible. "I hate my profession sometimes." Turning to @[member="Xander Carrick"], the Bothan gave a rundown of what that ment. "We have one fighter squadron that can be sent anywhere, agents that can be kept nearby at all times, and the Bothuwai security force. If it comes down to a group's fight, we have troops to be there. We have starfighters in case said kidnapping happens in space. And those of us here would be more than capable of holding our own."

The Archon smiled weakly. Such courage. So selfless. And none of them had asked how much they would be paid to do it. Despite herself, Feena could not help but feel, well, impressed. Still, she did have her honor as Archon to also consider.

"No," she replied, "we will not use confederate resources for this personal matter."

She cleared her throat.

"I offer up my personal ship, and will be purchasing droids specifically for this mission. There is no reason that any of you should feel obligated to spend credits, or use your own resources for this. It may very well be that I am simply an over paranoid Mother and the rumors I have heard prove to be entirely false. But... Well, I only hope this is the case."

Kiskla obliged to the warm welcome of her hostess, and followed the former order to find a seat. Seat choosing was what Rebecca Black made it out to be — somewhat difficult when in a representative position.

She could easily sit at the back and blend in amongst the other CIS Templars and make minimal connections, or, she could sit nearer to the Archon and the individuals that swarmed her. Technically, it was proper to choose the latter as an ambassador usually had to put their best foot forward. So, Kiskla slid into a seat somewhat near the middle, with a two-seat partiality toward the Archon and her people.

Kiskla finally took this opportunity to glance around. There were swarms of auras here, much like at the Fringe event. Dark mixed with light, mixed with some who were confused. Light eyes flicked upward just in time to catch a welcoming grin from an unknown blonde fellow, and Kiskla relaxed slightly. She hadn’t known how the guests would react to a Jedi among their midsts, as she had made no effort to conceal her identity. To do so, would have been rude to @[member="Feena Mason"]. A light simper was returned to the stranger (@[member="Tycho Shorn"]) before the hostess began to express why she had invited them all here. That cut off that interaction quickly.. As she spoke, Kiskla listened respectively, managing to stay her gaze on the woman herself. Okay, for the most part, otherwise, she was looking around at the reactions of those who sat at her table.

Oh terrible! An assassination attempt, here? My goodness The Republic was out of the loop, this hadn’t even been mentioned at any of the recent meetings she’d attendant. How many more were training in Republic area? Was there anyone training in CIS space? They all really needed better lines of communication, this was immediately evidenced.

Then, the offer was open. Kiskla leaned back in her chair and listened as volunteers and questions made themselves heard. This was very stressful, but she was also very hungry.

“If it’s not going to deny the involvement of some of your employees,” Kiskla began when there was a brief moment of silence offered — ever polite when necessary — “I’d like to offer what resources I can as well. Including myself. If you’d like, perhaps I could help track down the assassin that attempted to attack you and is threatening your daughter.” Kiskla wouldn’t disclose much around a dinner table, but she could boast a mean trait of psychometery. Good genetics.

Feena smiled at @[member="Kiskla Grayson"], although she did not show much confidence in her offer.

"I thank you for your kind offer. If it would not trouble you, I would appreciate your assistance in tracking my attacker. I will admit though, there is very little evidence to go on."

Feena looked about the table and was about to say more, but at that moment, two droids came out with platters in each hand.

"Ah! Let us leave such grim discussions for later. For now, please eat, drink and enjoy yourselves."

I turned to the Bothan who answered me, saying that there were already troops in place. I had no doubt about ourselves and our abilities, no. I knew that the people here could easily deal with anything than came our way. I just merely wondered if people would be joining us. I nodded my head at him and was about to answer back my thoughts when Mrs. Mason spoke, saying that this is not an official CIS mission, and is rather just a Mother wanting her child to be safe. She also said that she would be paying for whatever was happening, And not a second too soon, The Jedi offered her services. I shook my head, knowing that she would say such a thing.

As the food was being distributed, I decided to speak for myself, "Ma'am, I have no idea on how much you care for your daughter. However, I do know that you love her enough to be willing to do anything to keep her safe. And that is enough for me to work for you."

Strask nodded, and mentally eliminated all but the Net agents from his previous list. After another glance around the room, the Bothan began to piece together the parts of what was available. Three Templars of varying degrees, a Jedi of some power, by his guess, and himself and his network. It seemed to be just enough to pull this off. The net on monitoring duty, and everyone else at the ready. They could have a shifting first responder, and each one staying as near as possible without arousing suspicion. He took a plate of food, eating slowly, cutting it up faster than needed to, and attempting to lay out a possible attack routes. One would need to be absolutely familiar with Bothuwai, and Mos Espa, to get what he was doing. Most of it was coded positioning. The rest was in his head. He was ponderous on the outside, but his mind was racing.
