Forging the soul

"A Dramatic Force-Blessed Myth"
Can anyone answer this? I was thinking that it was finally time for Vulpesen to get a lightsaber (especially since his vibrosword got blown up by Velok, and he might have just turned his training saber into a bomb against a Hssiss.) With that in mind, are there any rules I should know about since he intends to do it off world and quite a bit away from tython?

Most padawans would build their sabers on Ilum with their master but it could be done anywhere. Just ask your master if you have one to take you and make a good adventure of it. Getting and finding the crystal, the time it takes to build the saber, testing it out and hoping it was aligned properly, fixing it if it wasn't. So much can happen and be done, even just the color can become something personal and enjoyable.

My advice from previous weapons is to make different parts unique to him :). Not overpowered, but with its own bit of history, even if that's just a one line message about where it came from, or who provided it.

The first I don't always do that with but the eventual weapon I want any martial character to have, he knows it inside out. Many of its parts will come from different threads of the course of a character's life and eventually be assembled together.

I knew about Illum, but my character is thinking of returning to his home world where he'll find a family heir loom crystal. No real overpoweredness, just a unique color. I'm also seeing it as a chance to finally reveal Vulpesen's past and why he was raised by Amarans instead of other humans.
As for the master, I'm kinda trying to figure that out. I've had chances and I'm thinking of two people, one of which I am on the fast track to joining, but for the most part, I don't really have an official master yet. That was my main concern about the lightsaber.

Is it possible to fly off to a home planet to construct a lightsaber, or does Vulps need to have a jedi master present I he's not aat some sort of Jedi place. With the whole War Zone event coming up, I'd rather not be charging a group of soldiers with a training saber in my hands.

Thank you. Off I go then to forge the new blade. Home sweet home, here I come.

EDIT: *Pops my head out of the cockpit* Exactly where should I post said forging? Considering that I don't see how another person can fit in, it doesn't really seem like a proper rp. (sorry for the quantity of queries, but just trying to figure things out around here.)

Home is where you want to make it... and assembling your blade is personal. You can do it anywhere. You could theoretically assemble it while on the toilet if there is where you find your center. (note I do not recommend that as most jedi took several days to properly assemble and being in the bathroom for several days will make everyone laugh at you)
