Alderaanian blue bread

A pastoral favorite, blue bread is a staple of Alderaanian cuisine, particular in the region of Chianar. The bread is made from skycorn farmed on Alderaan, from which its famous blue color is derived.

Pra'jituri is a dish from Lao-mon consisting of ts'kiza eggs and crushed zenobia berries. Due to the difficulty associated with procuring the eggs, it was historically only consumed by the leader of the winning side after a battle. In more modern times its meaning has broadened to celebrate any triumph of life. It can be prepared for a person who has healed from an illness or injury, given to a family to celebrate the birth of a child, or to a person who has gone through hard times and come out on the other end a survivor. Traditionally the eggs are served raw, but they can also be cooked in any number of ways. The eggs have a salty flavor that pairs well with the sweetness of the berries.

A common dessert on Pylos Satnik, zin and cakes are paired together due to being considered complimentary dishes.

Zin is a drink made from zingiber gel which has been churned into a smooth, creamy liquid. Humans who have drank it compared the taste to sour blue milk. The cakes (or kekjek in the Common Tongue) are somewhat different from human cakes, both in ingredients and texture. Traditional kekjek is made with seaweed soaked in fermented juice, which is combined with flour, eggs, and sugar. There are a variety of cake flavors, with the most popular being mhari, bisou, and cubeflower. A recipe for zin and cakes can be found in The Art of Pylantian Cooking.

The Mara Aurelai - Hapes pink champagne, meiloorun bitters, Zadarian brandy, sugar foam

The addition of a mysterious substance identified only as "sugar foam" induces a chemical reaction which leaches the color out of the champagne, forming a cloud of pink foam which sits on top of the liquid. The foam has a sweet, fruity taste and melts in the mouth.

Hapes Pink Champagne is an alcoholic beverage made from Akala's Tears, a fruit native to Hapes. It is a favorite of Mara Aurelai, the Ducha of Stalsinek IV. She is known to order it at nearly every event and function in which alcohol is served. To celebrate her ascension, the renowned Hapan mixologist Garek Tull created a new cocktail, the Mara Aurelai. The drink combined pink champagne with meiloorun bitters, Zadarian brandy, and Garek's own secret patented recipe for sugar foam. Its unique appearance, with a cloud of pink foam sitting on top of the liquor in the glass, was much admired by cocktail enthusiasts and became an iconic image associated with the Ducha. Mara herself was very pleased with the creation, participating in advertisement campaigns to promote Hapes Pink Champagne™ in which she posed with the drink in hand.
