Private (Flashback) Keep Hope Alive

It had been long enough that Jairdain was confident in introducing her brother to her fiancé. A man she was going to marry and spend the rest of his life with. She knew he would die long before she ever would, but planned to make it as meaningful as she could.

Letting Vulps know they were coming, she didn't keep their destination secret. The borders had been opened, and they would be welcomed on Verdune. This planet could have been her home, but she had kept her life separate from her brother's and only visited occasionally.

The last time she had been here, she had still been married to Yuroic, and he had died several years ago. She really should talk to Vulps more often. Sighing as they came in through the atmosphere, her ship knew where to go and landed at the spaceport.

"It'll be fine. I hope you left your droid behind."

To say the two of them didn't get along would be an understatement. If Jairdain could hate, that droid was as close as she could get. All of them knew it too. She also figured if he were along, it would have made the trip insufferable and he might have gotten spaced.

"Come on. He's going to be meeting us."

The worst part of getting engaged is that Jax has to meet Jairs in laws. Not that he wont think that they won’t like him, it’s more about ensuring the upcoming embarrassment. Jax didn’t do well among family getups. He never had a family beyond the NJO, the Silvers, and the friends he made. So when Jairdain dragged Jax to meet his brother, all Jax could do was gulp and remain silent.

“I don’t know Jair,” Jax shrugged. “Maybe BB could liven the place up ya know?” He knew that Jair wouldn’t like that answer but for the first time, maybe BB-12 would make for a perfect distraction. “He’s out in Malastare clubbing so we won’t be hearing from him for a while.”

Jair wanted to ditch the droid, Jax as annoyed as he as with BB, he was his friend. So Jax decided to pick him up when he was ready.

“How’s your brother?” Jax asked. “I think we only met a few times? I don’t remember.” He took a deep breath. “Will he even like me?” Jax said staring at Jair.

"A Dramatic Force-Blessed Myth"
One of the benefits of being a member of House Torrevaso, was that of a private spaceport useable only by the Valde and his family. Of course,, as Jairdain's ship and its passengers were noted, they would be routed directly to the nearest landing pad to Vulpesen's home. It was there that the man would be waiting, his arms crossed as he leaned against the port's wall, his black tail flicking behind him. That Jairdain was his sister was something he had known for some time, and something that brought him no small amount of joy. He had grown up as something of an outcast, a "human" surrounded by Amarans. Even with the family he grew up with, it was obvious that he was something different. Since coming to Veradune however, though he still loved Zarro as his own father, he had come to find the value of family that he could claim by blood.

These principles in mind, he was a bit perturbed by his relationship with his sister. It wasn't that he and Jairdain didn't get along. In fact, they got along great whenever they were together. The trouble was that the times they were together were few and far between. It was a travesty that he hoped to correct and in that spirit, he had welcomed his sister with open arms when she had asked for an invitation along with her new husband. The only thing better than reconnecting with family was doing so and finding that said family was growing.

"Oh, no. He would intentionally trip me up and make me fall on my face. No, thank you. He's yours."

She didn't think they would ever get along, but they might learn to tolerate each other. When Jax asked how her brother was, she shrugged and paused for a moment to give a thoughtful answer.

The lifestyle of BB was something Jairdain would never understand. Another thing was why Jax even kept him around.

"You've met my brother before? Neither of you told me?"

Both of them were in the Alliance, so it was a possibility, but she didn't think it had happened. Nothing like the meeting that was going to happen in a few minutes.

"I'm sure he's fine, though. It's our mother you need to watch out for. And yes, he will like you."

Walking off the ship with her Jax at her side, they waited for Vulps to meet them.
