First Order

“It’s time to let old things die.”
-Kylo Ren
From the furthest reaches of the Outer Rim and Unknown regions the First Order emerged in the wake of several galactic-scale catastrophes with the mindset that never again shall the Galaxy be plunged into the ignorance of such chaos. The First Order would become a beacon of advancement, stability and strength against the forces of chaos who envy this power and seek to tear down that they themselves could never hope to achieve; dominance over the galaxy’s culture, economics and politics from a seat nestled tightly in the Outer Rim and Unknown Regions.

The First Order offers each of its’ members the ability to participate in a highly organised and disciplined faction with a commitment to the faction’s organically developed lore without deviating from the core Imperial-centric and First Order themes we all love and enjoy as conveyed in published Star Wars materials. Joining the First Order usually appears daunting; we’re highly structured with a defined identity with little room to accommodate radical ideas that would challenge this identity and pre-existing lore. The First Order is a Dark-Side faction at the core of it who believe they’re doing right by the galaxy as a whole even if their methods are sometimes cruel and lacking in clear moral justification.

The First Order do not care much for the conflict between the Light and Dark Side or the Jedi and the Sith the faction cares about creating and enforcing order above all things regardless of the tactics they have to employ, though distinct from Sheev Palpatine’s Galactic Empire from which they descend the First Order as a government takes no pleasure in unnecessary cruelty but they will go to any lengths to secure the future of First Imperial Society. While the First Order is both ICly and OOCly highly structured there is generally something for everyone within the First Order, some of this will be summarised below.
Order of Ren
Shrouded in secrecy the Order of Ren is the First Order’s secret police and premier religious organisation. Its’ members are primarily comprised of Force Sensitive Men and Women, Human or otherwise who have dedicated themselves wholly to the Supreme Leader’s vision and the glory of the First Order. Service is sometimes voluntary or involuntary, often the latter in the case of children who demonstrate significant affinity for the force. Trained in the ways of the Dark Side of the Force to the Order of Ren the force is a tool to be wielded proudly and without restraint in service to the First Order and Supreme Leader. However, this does not necessarily mean that its' members are strictly evil as they do not follow a strict religious code like the Sith or Jedi. The Council of Overlords controls the Knights of Ren while the Praetorians take their orders directly from the Supreme leader himself, the Order of Ren operates in parallel to the civil government.
First Imperial Government
The First Order’s government is military and hierarchical in nature with its members appointed rather than elected as seen in democratic governments. The lowest rank of ‘Governor’ has jurisdiction over a single planet within the FO and is usually appointed from the head of state or government of the worlds that come under the control of the First Order such as Monarchs and Presidents. These individuals wield executive authority over the worlds they govern and answer to System/Hex Executives known as ‘Prefects’ who also have administrative if not operational control over their system’s First Imperial Army defence forces.
First Order Security Bureau
An odious organisation responsible for the internal security of the First Order, they’re a mixture of the faction’s premier police force and intelligence gathering agency; their influence permeating through every single organisation within the Supreme Leader’s realm. The First Order Security Bureau are known externally for their assassins, shadowtroopers and far-reaching surveillance and intelligence network, they’re the worst nightmare for budding insurgent groups. The First Order Security Bureau operate from planetary and system ‘Bureaus’ within the First Order with the lowliest rank being that of ‘Agent’ with their backgrounds being diverse ranging from university graduates and recruits with no work experience to the talented individual plucked from the First Imperial Military or Government.

First Imperial Army
The First Order’s primary garrison and terrestrial defence force is the First Imperial Army; comprised of Humans and Near-Human volunteers and defectors exclusively they are the First Order’s principle defence against the hordes of Chaos. The First Imperial Army’s soldiers are proud and stalwart with access to some of the most cutting-edge hardware in the galaxy while they’re often outnumbered by their enemies they are rarely outmatched they’re formidable motivated warriors and found nearly everywhere the First Order maintains a presence whether it be colony, space station or warship.

First Imperial Stormtrooper Corps
Preceded by a history stretching back all the way to the Galactic Republic’s Grand Army; the First Order’s Stormtroopers are outnumbered 20:1 by their more common soldier brethren within the First Imperial Army. They’re exclusively Human and majority trained from birth supplemented by promising recruits and adult volunteers from the other military branches they are peerless in their training, discipline and obedience. The First Imperial Stormtrooper Corps is the First Order’s primary expeditionary force and home to the faction’s best and most elite soldiers outside of the military’s Special Forces branch, striking out on behalf of Sieger Ren crushing the resistance offered by foreign governments and securing wayward colonies across the Galaxy. First Imperial Stormtroopers are most commonly found on the Navy’s Warships who deliver them to their targets.

First Imperial Navy
When a dagger-shaped vessel appears in orbit or within space’s dark void proudly flashing the crimson maw you’ve encountered a First Imperial Warship, staffed by dutiful Human and Near-Human Volunteers they are along with the Stormtroopers ubiquitous symbols of First Imperial Society. Promising careers are certain for any who are dedicated and dutiful with the penultimate prize being entrusted with the Command of one of the First Order’s coveted Star Destroyers which are symbols of salvation for First Imperial Citizens and intimidating portents in the eyes of the Galaxy’s worst. The brave men and women of the First Imperial Navy and their uncompromising determination is known throughout the galaxy thanks to its’ quality officers and enlisted personnel.

First Imperial Starfighter Corps
First Imperial Starfighter Corps pilot are known for their ubiquitous symbol of the TIE fighter and other new First Imperial designs, these Human and Near-Human volunteers are trained with their fine motor controls fine-tuned into something truly special and impressive. The Starfighter Corps’ most feared and respected members are often distinguished by red markings across their glossy black armour and are almost as recognisable at a glance as Stormtroopers and Star Destroyers. The Starfighter Corps are numerous and found nearly everywhere the First Order has a warship or terrestrial airfield.

First Imperial Auxilliary
Despite the Human-centric culture of the First Order, aliens who are enlightened and dedicated to the Supreme Leader’s vision often find themselves in service to the military through the Auxiliary. This is where many citizens from newly inducted colonies of questionable loyalty start their career in the First Imperial Military before being deemed trustworthy and truly embracing of First Imperial Culture. Even patriotic foreign mercenaries join the Auxiliary in the hopes of obtaining First Imperial Citizenship and the powerful protections and rights it conveys. The First Imperial Auxiliary has little to no standard-issue equipment with the majority of its hardware being taken from centuries old Imperial stocks, with many units opting to use indigenous designs that are usually privately owned by individual members. The Auxiliary also includes foreign Naval Assets pledged to the First Order.
