First Moff, Reborn

New Vaiken, Yalara.

Back in the days of the Sith Empire, the first person to be named Moff was Odile Vaiken. A non-force sensitive man, but in that day and age as notable as any other Sith Lord of his time. Throughout time, the name Odile Vaiken had faded from history as all things did as they lost relevance.

In recent times, with the reappearance of the First Order, as did the name Vaiken. Despite it originally being a Space Station, new life was being breathed into its name, and so new life was being breathed into Yalara's infrastructure, or rather, lack thereof.

New Vaiken was the city's name, millions of inhabitants, primarily labourers and former criminals going through rehabilitation and given vocational abilities.

The city featured many sights, though its pride and jewel was its research centre that featured bio-engineering facilities, along with underground agricultural plants that fed much of the labourers within the city.

New Vaiken itself was but a small part of the planet, but it was still a rapidly growing city, its police force considered one of the best within the entire First Order considering its combination of noghri warriors and trackers into its ranks.

On this day, Maurice meant to journey through the city. Perhaps there were some that visited from offworld, but he doubted it. Despite being one of the closer planets to the Capital, Dosuun, it received few visitors from higher up.

RIP Carlyle Rausgeber

"It's all been bloody marvellous..."
Admiral Carlyle Rausgeber held the world of Yalara in disdian. The planets climate, and copious amounts of sand were something the officer hated. But nonetheless, the duties of the admiralty called, and naturally, Carlyle needed to follow them. His duty on Yalara was to discuss with the cities commissioner about the security of the city in this new state of war . However, the military wasn't concerned with possible invasion. No, their particular interest was to do with the lockdown protocol of New Vaiken, should some form of virus or other biological hazard escape from its research facilities. Although the wider public had never heard of the Red Nebula incident, many in the military feared that the possibility of a similar break out within an urban populace would be a disaster.

However, Carlyle's mind wasn't on that. The officer scowled as his star destroyer, The Vindicator entered orbit of the system. "Admiral, your shuttle has been prepared for your departure." The Signals Officer reported.

Carlyle broke his gaze, and trailed it back to portside crew pit, "Send a signal to the offices of our host. Alert Mister Dalton that my departure is imminent." Carlyle ordered. The admiral had personally never met the man, though he had heard that he was a gracious host, and a shrewd operator with a head on his shoulders. Something that was always welcomed for an administrator of his sort.

"Yes sir." The Signals Officer replied.

"Good," Carlyle replied, before turning behind him, "Captain Starthing?" The officer sat at the back of the bridge, observing data feeds and incoming telemetry.

"Yes admiral?" The Captain asked, standing to attention. He was a tall, skinny figure, not the sort one would think of as captain material. But Fergus Starthing had nonetheless the experience, and mental faculty to fulfill such a role.

"You are in command until my return." Carlyle ordered, "The Vindicator, is yours." Carlyle said, before walking down the bridge, and to the nearest turbolift.

Upon the planet below, the Commissioner was hard at work in his office. Whether that was political work or not, had yet to be seen. Regardless, Dalton was expecting key members of the First Order's Government and Military to visit New Vaiken to day. At least, he imagined they would. It was an open invitation, but one person that had confirmed they were coming had had a meeting set up.

A certain... Admiral [member="Carlyle Rausgeber"].

Best to not deny an Admiral his wants, even if it is just a meeting.

"Uhhh, Commissioner, Admiral Rausgeber has arrived in orbit. He's on his way now."

Kark.

At this point, despite 'working,' and drawing up further plans for the industrial part of the City, it appeared that he was interrupted. The holographic interface disappeared with a downwards swipe as he rose up to his feet, buttoning up his suit. "Direct him to the Spaceport - even the Admiral has to abide by planetary laws," Maurice said. "We'll have a speeder waiting to bring him to the research facilities."

"Yes, Sir."

Outside, Maurice was entering a speeder that would take him to the Yalaran Research and Engineering facility where he'd personally wait for the Admiral. Not that he knew what he looked like. But, he had enough of a mind for military rankings to tell the difference between Officers.

RIP Carlyle Rausgeber

"It's all been bloody marvellous..."
Carlyle crossed the hangar bay of the Vindicator, waving off the pilots who saluted him. Now was not the time for such pleasantries. Rausgeber was a man on a mission, with little time, and a want to finish this meeting as quick as possible. The preparations for the upcoming battles with the Alliance had caught much of the mans attention, and to be honest, Carlyle resented being sent on this simple errand. The admiral sat back in the shuttle, and read through his notes on a datapad. He didn't listen when the shuttles crew began take off preperations, and didn't at all feel bothered when the ship began to take off.

He however did ask one question, "Where abouts are we landing?" he asked, putting the tablet down.

"New Vaiken Spaceport," The pilot replied, "Gonna be a speeder waiting for you."

Great. Carlyle was going to be out in that heat. And especially with a uniform like his. With constant sweating, which is what happened when out in the scorching heat of Yalara, meant his uniform would probably be half see through. Kark. Nonetheless, he readied himself for the oncoming weather. Dear karking God, how he was going to hate that heat.
