  • Duravlex Coating
  • Durasteel Frame
  • Basic Combat Droid Programming
  • Flamethrower "Flare" Arm Unit (x2)
  • External "Flare" Powerpack
  • Visible Light Receptors
  • Basic Human-standard Audio Receptors
  • Galactic Common Audio Projector
Strengths:
  • Flare: The FD-V1 is equipped with with two energy based flamethrowers. The flames are emitted from the specialized barrels which are the droids right and left arms. The flames are sourced from a specialized powercell on the back of the droid which creates enormous amounts of plasmatic flames in condensed streams. These flames can metal steel and will strip flesh from bone when used most organic species.
  • Fire Resistant: Covered in a coating of Duravlex fire resistant alloy the chances of the FD-V1 being set ablaze by mundane fire is minimal. Liquid or gel based flames will still burn as they are burning the material the fire is on rather than the Duravlex and metal of the droid itself.
Weaknesses:
  • High Power Low Energy: While the FD-V1 enjoys a high powered offensive capability the droid's weapon's powerpack is only good for four (4) uses or eight (8) five (5) second streams. Once the powerpack is depleted the droid is essentially disarmed.
  • Danger!: The nature of the weaponry this droid is used to bring to the battlefield is dangerous to all near it. If the droid is hit in the powerpack it will detonate, creating an explosion comparable to two thermal detonators. If the arms of the droid are destroyed while it is using them to throw its fire, the arm will explode and start a series of chain reactions within the droid itself finally culminating in the destruction of the power pack.
DESCRIPTION
FD-V1 is an anti-personnel and anti-structural combat droid that makes use of the cutting and burning potential of plasma via a large external powerpack. The droid is shaped as a humanoid with a bare frame (think B1 series). The skull of the droid is human with two horizontal slits for receptors although otherwise completely smooth and mask-like. This combat droid's main intended purpose is to a supplemental unit for use in urban combat environments. The dangers presented by the source of the droid's powerful weaponry is far too great to be used for the defense or assault of starships or space stations as such a power detonation could lead to catastrophic results. With limited range compared to blasters the FD-V1 would be outmatched by the now vintage B1-Battle Droid or even the predecessor OOM in an environment not that does not lend itself well to cover. With all these downsides the saving grace of the FD-V1 is its sheer power at short range as it can metal durasteel and even in some cases the incredibly resilient duraplast.

Abuse could come in the form of attempting to use FD-V1's as sacrificial suicide bombs. This shouldn't be their use as it is not intended, the explosive potential of the FD-V1 is there for balance.
