ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Heavy Transport: The Falchion carries enough carrying capacity for one hundred and sixty soldiers plus six vehicles, making it an excellent dropship for large-scale engagements that require a considerable amount of soldiers.
  • Sturdy: The outer hull is greatly reinforced, with several deflector shield generators adding an extra layer of protectiveness to the ship and its contents.
WEAKNESSES
  • Light Weaponry: With the intent of the Falchion firmly situated on troop deployment, the weapon systems of the dropship have been rolled back to make room for more defensive measures. It still possesses several weapons, but none of them are truly meant for large-scale combat.
  • Large: Coming in at one hundred and twenty meters long, the Falchion is quite a large transports to have bobbing and weaving through combat zones. This makes it an ideal target for anti-air emplacements on the ground, which is why the Falchion is so defensive.
DESCRIPTION

A direct evolution of the Dirk-class Dropship, the Falchion is larger, better equipped, and can carry almost double the number of soldiers the Dirk could, as well as a total of six vehicles; four light vehicles and two heavy vehicles.

But with an increase in size comes its own difficulties, primarily the bigger the target that's painted on the Falchion when it moves through combat zones. A common strategy across the galaxy is to destroy the enemy's means of reinforcement before they can actually carry out their mission, making it easier for the beleaguered forces on the ground to be overwhelmed.

The Falchion somewhat mitigates this by traveling in escort formation with the smaller Dirks as well as accompanying combat starfighters.
