    • Hybrid Modules
      • Particle Beam - Considered to be the standard firing module, this module deals damage in much the same way as a typical blaster rifle, via sheer energy output. However, it should be noted that the discharged bolts have an explosive effect upon connecting with a target.
      • Solarized Particle Beam - Capable of melting durasteel plating and setting targets alight, this module deals damage by superheating the target and ideally, incinerating them. It is also capable of bypassing conventional deflector shields.
      • Ion Particle Beam - Fires a bolt of ionized particles that is effective against electronics and can feasibly overload shields. Often utilized when a target is needed alive, but might also be deployed to drain shields before finishing the target off via another firing module.
      • Sonic Particle Beam - Derived from ancient Geonosian designs, the sonic module fires a bolt of condensed sonic energy sheathed by a volatile plasma containment field. Upon impact, the field collapses, unleashing a potentially lethal burst of sonic energy that can rupture organs or even cause targets to explode outright.
      • Cryogenic Particle Beam - Fires a bolt of ultra-cold particles, frozen to ultra-cold temperatures via cryogenized gas. These beams are capable of flash-freezing and potentially shattering targets or alternatively, causing severe cold injuries.
      • Stun Beam - Fires a ring of energy at a lower power setting, capable of stunning targets.
  • Control Systems
    • Motion Interface Functionality - Also Compatible with Equivalent Aftermarket NI or MMI Systems, Secure Technopathy, Blink / Voice Commands, and Droid Interface Systems
  • Power Systems
  • Utility and Safety Systems
STRENGTHS
  • Versatility - A hybrid weapon, the FAE/W-14 can be switched on the fly from one firing module to the other, allowing the user to choose the best option for the situation. Alternatively, the governing computer brain integrated into the CI scope might select or recommend the best module for the situation, upon analyzing a host of factors and conditions.
  • Extreme Power - While it is not a disruptor, the FAE/W-14 has devastating damage potential, with explosive results upon impact owing to the unstable nature of its discharged particle beams. The weapon has the potential to blow open 0.90 meter-wide holes in reinforced durasteel barricades, allowing it to feasibly (but not unfailingly) overpower many types of personal energy shields, tear through armor, damage armored vehicles, and even engage targets through dense physical obstructions.
  • Over Them Mountains - The FAE/W-14 has an extremely long range, allowing a shooter to engage targets while enjoying the inherent security of distance.
WEAKNESSES
  • Fortune Teller - If the weapon is fired with a misaligned prismatic crystal, the risk of an explosive outcome is somewhat high, likely ending with the weapon going off in the wielder’s hand to potentially catastrophic effect in the event that they attempt to fire it in spite of the damage.
  • Heat Hazard - While the FAE/W-14 is equipped with a cooling system, long, extended firefights can result in a rapid heat buildup which surpasses the rate of cooling. Should this reach a certain temperature threshold, the weapon integrity system will lock the rifle to prevent the shooter from firing. The shooter can opt to bypass this lock and continue, but doing so risks damaging the weapon, the shooter suffering severe burns, or in more extreme cases, causing the weapon to detonate within their hands.
  • Mechu-deru - Like any piece of technology, the FAE/W-14 is susceptible to Mechu-deru and other technology-corrupting powers. A talented practitioner of such esoteric sorceries could induce a jam or some other mechanical failure that might compromise the weapon entirely or demand precious time to fix, leaving the shooter vulnerable.
  • Outdrawn - A large, heavy frame means that the FAE/W-14 is unwieldy in close quarters compared to a smaller weapon. In a contest between two shooters of equal skill and strength, a pistol, carbine, or medium-sized rifle will outdraw and outmaneuver the FAE/W-14. Not to mention, the FAE/W-14’s low rate of fire means the aforementioned weapons will likely outshoot it as well.
DESCRIPTION
Designed and manufactured by First United Astral Engineering, the FAE/W-14 Hybrid Particle Sniper Rifle represents the company’s newest investment in its updated small arms lineup, which is hoped to tear open the galactic small arms market. Much like the FAE/W-13, the FAE/W-14 distinguishes itself from the competition via a number of utility features—hybrid modules, targeting assistance, security functions, and yet more. However, where the FAE/W-13 is a standard rifle platform, the FAE/W-14 is a sniper system optimized for extreme range engagements. In this regard, it is ideal for snipers, assassins, and hunters. Ultimately, while the FAE/W-14 is expected to serve in a more niche role, the weapon has high expectation both in terms of sales and battlefield performance.
