LFG Faction suggestions?

Off the top of my head, I'd suggest you look into the CIS, as they have some political intrigue plots going from what I understand. There are also a couple of imperial factions, the New Imperial Order and the First Order, which you might enjoy, although keep in mind that the NIO is focused on a war narrative right now and most of their threads pertain to that. If you are looking for Sith factions there are currently 2-3 of them around: the Sith Eternal, the Warlords, and the Sith Empire. The Galactic Alliance is a Light Side faction, but many of their stories and characters have dealt with corruption within their ranks.

These are all major factions, but there are hundreds more minor factions which are smaller and more self-contained. My advice would be to use the Looking For a Group forum to find threads and use that as a jumping off point for your character.

Felix is also a lightside political character and he plays in CIS. I'm always up for a cool political alliance thread if you're down. ^_^

It has a nice base for everyone. Other options would be the GA or the Silver jedi. All three have fantastic communities and are super friendly! CIS does also have a LOT of members. Lots of people to write with.

First Order might be worth a look. We're an Imperial faction but certainly not a Sith one! There's a nice mix of war, politics, and adventure in our threads. Plenty of cloak and dagger stuff too if that's more your thing.

I'm a bit late, but The Elysium Empire is always recruiting.

We are a Monarchy with a council and a senate, our ideology is a mixture of Imperial and Alliance ideas, and we are neither good nor bad, playing both sides. In the end you can call us good, but the ends justify the means. For example, we tried to blow up Cloud City.

As my colleague Aithche Wierz said, imperial factions are worth a look. While we are more True Neutral/Neutral Evil than Lawful Good, the storylines are complex and intense, bringing in emotions and excitement. Not to mention the neutral cousins of the Jedi, the Imperial Knights.

New Imperial Order/First Order are neutral factions with a propension to war, but the essence of these factions is war against the Sith and other dark Force Users
