STRENGTHS

• Heavy Firepower — The F-29 Fortress Bomber is equiped with heavy proton torpedoes that can do devastating damage to the hull of a capital ship. Additionally, it has heavy laser cannons to challenge corvettes, and laser turrets for defending off starfighter harassment.
• Maneuverability — The broad wings of the F-29 Fortress Bomber has a booster system installed which enables this spacecraft to move gracefully through space, giving it the ability to make sudden turns in short amounts of time.

WEAKNESSES

• EMP Weapons — The Liberator-class does not have adequate resistance to natural phenomena or weapons that cause electrical disturbances.
• Unarmored — The F-29 Fortress Bomber lacks a sturdy hull and does not have armored plating. Once this heavy bomber has lost its deflector shields, enemy fire will tear through it like paper, and likely, ignite its payload into a firework show.
• Forward Firing Arc, Anti-Corvette — The F-29 Fortress Bomber’s heavy laser cannons are mounted across the breadth of its wingspan, and are only capable of firing forward, which leavs its aft vulnerable to exploitation.
• Dorsal Firing Arc, Anti-Starfighter — The F-29 Fortress Bomber’s laser cannons are mounted on ball turrets which have a high range of motion. However, they’re located on the surface of the heavy bomber, which leaves its ventral area vulnerable to exploitation.

DESCRIPTION
The Federal Cooperative initiated a new production program in 844 ABY to gradually phase out its reproductions of classic designs from the aughts. Project Forn was among the first projects started. The design team were directed to develop a heavy bomber. Furthermore, they were provided with the scenario of a scrappy force taking on larger opponents. This was a direct result of the recent collapse of the Republic and the re-emergence of resistance cells. The design team would approach the project with a high risk/high reward mindset. They would go through twenty-eight iterations before settling on the twenty-ninth. They decided to sacrifice expensive armor plating in exchange for a significantly heavier payload, and additionally, they decided to cut redundant shielding in favor of additional offensive weapon systems. Project Forn would conclude in 850 ABY with the first batch of F-29 Fortress Bombers completed and sold to rebel groups in the Expansion Region. Follow-up orders from other rebel cells and resistance movements would make the F-29 Fortress one of the top sellers of the Aurebesh Series.
